  1. Years ago we had a woman in my building named Anita Beadon who got paged regularly with Beadon sounding more like Beatin'.
  2. So I went to the doctor, see what he could give meHe said, son, son you've gone too far,'Cause smokin' an trippin' is all that you do, yeah
  3. I got lucky and hooked my 14 year old up with a baseball team after we found out that the local little league didn't have enough players. Watching practices and a scrimmage has been a welcome sight this past week.
  4. Outstanding! Thanks for sharing. I'd love to know the back story. Did Tommy have a child or grandchild in the orchestra? And who the eff has a harp player these days?!?!
  5. Hey batter batter batter batter....swing! I heard this for the first time last summer after a kid almost got hit by a pitch: "We got ice!"
  6. I had a lot of fun with that one walking down the ramps at Shea after Matt Franco's walk-off pinch hit against Mariano in '99.
  7. I work hard (he works hard) every day of my life I work 'til I ache in my bones At the end (at the end of the day) I take home my hard earned pay all on my own I get down (down) on my knees (knees) And I start to pray 'Til the tears run down from my eyes Lord, somebody (somebody), ooh somebody (Please) can anybody find me somebody to love?
  8. Take me for a ride Take me all the way Take me where I've never been Someplace I can stay Don't get yourself too hot Don't get yourself too high If we don't take it easy now We can kiss it all goodbye Cool the engines Slow this rocket down Cool the engines Why don't ya take a look around
  9. Same song. Never knew 'my version' was a cover. Cool, thanks for that. As an aside, Mike Nesmith (The Monkeys) was executive producer of Repo Man and I always assumed a big influence on the soundtrack.
  10. I was about to post the link below about the Wilpons accepting initial bids today for the sale of the Mets when I flipped to SNY in time to see Lowrie take DeGrom to deep center and Yoenis put one over the wall against Lugo at Citi Field today. Mets games coming and the Wilpons (potentially) going was good to see today. Stromans hair? Not so much. https://nypost.com/2020/07/09/bidding-in-mets-sale-makes-this-rare-chance-finally-feel-real/
  11. Most of the soundtracks I like are collections of songs I already knew. I don't think I knew anything from Repo Man when I first heard it. Easily my favorite too!
  12. Low country blushing bride, blind to the ways of time Clear crystal burning mind, (she flies) Falling through liquid air with music everywhere Stone faces silent stare, (she flies) The old guard on the hill can feel the chill Deep into the freeze of those who don't believe Been a long time (Waiting on love) Been a long time (Waiting on love) Been a long time (Waiting on love) Been a long time (Waiting on love)
  13. I thought the same thing, but Tony was a lefty. Maybe the image is flipped.
  14. Two off the top of my head: Repo Man Guardians of the Galaxy
  15. Today I went to the supermarket (shortly after I saw this thread). There was no corral, but they had a guy working the parking lot. I put my cart to the curb between the front of my car and the car next to me before I left. Made sure it wouldn't roll. I feel like I did my civic duty. No way I'm walking it back to the store in that scenario. If there had been a corral, I would've walked it over.
  16. I don't care about this worldI don't care about that girl, I don't care (He don't care) I don't care
  17. I was thisclose to a Barnacle Bill the Sailor post in the lyrics thread the other day. Found the song it was probably based on instead,

  20. Nope. Risk/reward is still tilted towards risk for me.
  21. Children in the playground, laughing and dancing in the streetAll the colors of the rainbow, wrapped in childlike harmonyMe, I'm not laughing, I see things only as they wereWhen I first needed you, yeah, when I first needed you
  22. The sound of strangers sending nothing to my mindJust another mad mad day on the roadI am just living to be lying by your sideBut I'm just about a moonlight mile on down the road
  23. Well I might Ride along the border With my tweezers gleamin' In the moon-lighty night And then I'd Get a cuppa cawfee N' give my foot a push... Just me 'n the pymgy pony Over the Detal Floss Bush N' then I might just Jump back on An' ride Like a cowboy Into the dawn to Montana Movin' to Montana soon

Now that you can do it, let's make a chain, now (Come on baby, do the loco-motion) A chug-a chug-a motion like a railroad train, now (Come on baby, do the loco-motion) Do it nice and easy, now, don't lose control A little bit of rhythm and a lot of soul Come on, come on Do the loco-motion with me
  25. There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in
