  3. Hopefully by now all of this is water under the bridge and the sale goes through, but I'll call the sale a done deal when it's actually a done deal: https://reflectionsonbaseball.com/steve-cohen-all-that-money-and-still-he-cant-buy-mlb-owners-love/ Cohen’s business legacy is littered with questionable tactics, one of which was reviewed by the Feds for two years. They found smoke, but not the fire, and Cohen escaped with a damaged reputation and some hefty fines. It’s that reputation that’s followed and haunted Steve Cohen. In 2011, Cohen launched his first attempt to by an MLB team. As with the Mets, his money talked to make him the highest bidder for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Alas, Cohen could not convince the required seventy-five percent of his would-be peers to ratify the purchase.

  6. Assuming this is true, I'd love to know what his motivation is. Definitely not something I'd expect from Neon. I remember a story from years ago about how he loved fishing and grew up fishing off bridges and his quote was "if it's good enough for my bait, it's good enough for my plate!". Always loved that line but it seemed out of character (i.e - humble) to me based on his public persona. Prime Time as a Head Coach is a head scratcher for me, seems out of character. Regardless, I wish him well.

  20. And Gibson over Seaver?
  21. Hasn't been much on-the-field baseball talk around here for awhile. Not sure if anyone else cares, but here goes. Gimenez has made a case to take over at SS. From what I knew he was a top prospect that was supposedly still a year a way. Hasn't looked that way through 40+. Small sample but he looks like he belongs. I still like Rosario, but less so at SS.
  22. I'm good with either personality since they are elite and skill level is comparable. But I'll take the bubbly personality that has a better shot at improving the team dynamic.
  23. LOL, as a Yankee fan you've been more than paid back for 64-76 (and what I remember as the Horace Clarke years). I never saw Koufax, but by most accounts he was better than Seaver and Gibson. As for Koosman, sadly he was due to be honored by the Mets this season until Covid effed everything up.
  24. Many hard core fans on this site lose all hope and put the Bills on blast Monday mornings after a loss. I care more about that segment of the populations thoughts on the Bills more than I do Peter Kings even though they both seem irrational to me. Mostly because there might be a nugget of truth buried in the over reaction to a loss from the hard core fans while PK spends almost no time or effort on the team. I get that he's a national reporter but his pick of the Dolphins over the Bills smacks of his love of Belichik disciples as @Coach Tuesday pointed out earlier.
  25. Seaver and Gibson are two absolute legends. I was too young to see them in the 60's but they were best of the best in the NL in the early to mid 70's
