I was driving home early Sunday morning through Bakersfield
Listening to gospel music on the colored radio station
And the preacher said, you know you always have the Lord by your side
And I was so pleased to be informed of this that I ran
Twenty red lights in his honor
Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
Oh well
LOL - I had the opposite Met day. Saw the 5 run first and left the house still up 5.
Bad loss for sure but Diaz has been good this year - very good in one inning save opportunities. He's not going anywhere.
The mid-season bottom line for me is that in spite of an absurd number of injuries and some grossly underperforming players we are in first place. We have 3 bonafide starters and the bullpen (even Famiilia) has been pretty damn good. Plus I can't wait to see if they add a major piece (Kris Bryant?) before the trade deadline.
And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinkin' alone

Respect, walk, what did you say?
Respect, walk
Are you talkin' to me? Are you talkin' to me?
@Just Jack I have a love/hate relationship with the song you posted
We're doing alright (ooh)
A little driving on a Saturday night (yeah)
And come what may (ooh)
Gonna dance the day away (yeah)
Driver's seat, ooh
Driver's seat, yeah
Mary, Mary, tell me truly
What did I do to make you leave me?
Whatever it was I didn't mean to
You know I never would try and hurt ya
Mary, Mary, where you goin' to?
(Alternate lyrics years later: Mary Mary why ya buggin?")
