  1. Tell Sanchito that if he knows what is good for him he best go run and hide, Daddy's got a new .45, And I won't think twice to stick that barrel straight down sancho's throat, Believe me when I say that I got somethin' for his punk @ss.
  2. Did you ever hear the story That happened not long ago 'Bout the man with a tan: El diablo de Mexico?
  3. Well i want my chrissy, 'n i want my beer So you just barf it back up now, devil, Do you hear?
  4. Apologies for dropping in to the Sabres thread with a non-Sabres question. I'm an Islanders fan. My teenage son asked me who the Bruins would rather face next: us or the Pens. How would you answer that?
  5. For how long?
  6. Agreed. Fairburn took the lazy way out of an interesting question. The Mahomes/Allen debate is fun, but unless you think Allen maxed out this year it's a poor choice for a positional swap out IMO.
  7. I didn't see any of the game yesterday but that sounds dumb. Maybe it was just the 'third time through the lineup' mentality - which I suppose the numbers back up but is too cut and dried for my taste. I was watching a game recently and Gary made the point that these days a good manager is all about communication - communicating with the players, press and upper management. His point was that management/analytics is dictating lineups, defensive positioning and bullpen management and all that has been taken out of the managers hands. That was an eye opener for me.
  8. Last night DeGrom had a rehab start against the Single-A Cardinals. The leadoff hitter got to first on an infield error and then DeGrom struck out 8 of the next 9. The Cards social media team had some fun with it. Full article: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/jacob-degrom-rehab-start/5n55xvu76aah1q703ii7es385
  9. I enjoy walking, it's as good as a hit. Well not really, but that's the BS they peddled to me in Little League.
  10. Pittsburgh Pirate second baseman best known for the day he went 7-7 in a 9 inning game at Wrigley Field. Baseball has lost a number of legends this past year (Seaver, Gibson, Morgan, Brock,..) and while Rennie Stennett doesn't measure up as a legend I remember him as a guy I'd want on my team. Sad to hear of his passing. RIP.
  11. Right there with you on Midnight Run. RIP.
  12. Hats off to the NFL that fans care so much about the schedule.
  13. If you didn't catch it, Mets fans gave Matt Harvey a nice reception today. Nice to see. https://nypost.com/2021/05/12/mets-fans-salute-to-matt-harvey-deserves-round-of-applause/
  14. TV dinners, I'm feelin' kinda rough TV dinners, this one's kinda tough I like the enchiladas and the teriyaki too I even like the chicken if the sauce is not too blue
  15. I hear "we need significant infrastructure upgrades" and my mind goes to aging roads/pipes/bridges. Cyber-security is a different animal IMO. You can fortify a road or bridge and expect it to last some number of years. You can address a cyber-security hole with little expectation that another one won't be exposed in the short term. It's an on-going battle. For the record, if it comes out that the company operating the Colonial pipeline was lax wrt cyber-security I'll agree with you - my hope/expectation is that wasn't the case.
  16. Wait, what? Are you no longer in LA? More pipelines or better cyber-security?
  17. The bullpen has been surprisingly good. I don't know if I'll ever completely trust Diaz but he's been dominant more often than not. Even Familia has looked serviceable. I wonder if Gsellman will get a shot at a spot start. He seems like the forgotten guy.
  18. I missed the Carrasco news, I was under the impression he was closer than Thor.
  19. Just came here to post the same. This is about as good news as could have been expected. When is Carrasco coming back? Stroman and Walker have been really good but Peterson, Lucchesi and openers don't inspire confidence.
  20. It's disturbing that he took a start off and still couldn't make it through the game yesterday. I assume they'll shut him down for a week or two.
  21. @Gugny Posting in this 'dead zone' out of deference for a comment you made early on in the LGM thread. Any thoughts on Mets GM Zack Scott? Here's mine: in the past week he's gone from someone I knew nothing about to someone I have nothing good to say about: - fired Chili Davis and said something to the effect that "it's not about results" - expressed his unhappiness about how the players handled the ratgate incident with the press - imo the players handled it pretty damn well. I'm an admitted Mets homer and by and large apologist for most things Mets related but I'm headed to straight hate for Zack Scott. He looks out of his element.
  22. Not on you at all - everyone else responded sad on your OP, I went with thanks. I didn't want to come off as disrespectul to Ben Dreith by saying thanks to you for bringing this to my attention. Sometimes I overthink things. Anyway, cheers to Ben Dreith for 97 years lived and leaving a lasting memory for many. We should all be so fortunate.
  23. No disrespect intended but I can't go with sad on this one. The guy lived to 97 and is fondly remembered by many. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll be replaying with my sons who have already seen it. RIP
