Co-workers whose greatest contribution to the common good is calling meetings. This probably rises above the level of pet peeve for me but if I start a thread about things that p!ss me off right now I might come off as a bit unhinged.

https://hardrockdaddy.com/2013/10/30/hard-rock-music-time-machine-1982-the-whos-farewell-tour-shea-stadium-ny/ I don't recall that stipulation at all. So I went looking and I did find references to 'First Farewell Tour' but I question whether that came after the fact. Check out the article from 1982 below and another from 2013 - there's no hint at all that 1982 wasn't billed as their farewell tour. I'm happy to be proven wrong on this, but I don't remember ever hearing that 1982 was a First Farewell. https://www.nytimes.com/1982/10/12/arts/pop-the-who-british-rockers-on-farewell-tour.html https://hardrockdaddy.com/2013/10/30/hard-rock-music-time-machine-1982-the-whos-farewell-tour-shea-stadium-ny/

I saw the Who in 1982 and it was billed as their final tour. According to Wikipedia they are still touring. That's humorous, not something to sue over.

I have a friend who has been killing Lindor all year - master of the obvious - and it's driving me nuts. We better hope he gets better, much better!

The best part was when they brought in Cameron Maybin to help out and he went something like 0-30....which was only marginally worse than how our $35 million player was performing.

This is bittersweet to me as I'm reminded of a long gone cooler that served me well for many years. Mine was also red. I took great pleasure in packing it full of beer and ice and enjoying a cold frosty with good friends hours later. The stories that cooler could tell would do none of us any good. Good times.

@Another Fan - good to hear from you. This thread was more active back in Misterbluesky days but it's still where I prefer to share my 'amazing' insights (lol) - and unless I'm mistaken someone close to Misterbluesky actually pitched for the Mets. Some responses to your thoughts: DeGrom: what he is doing this year is remarkable. It could be historic if he stays healthy. The last time I remember a pitcher being this much better than everyone else is Pedro Martinez in the steroid era posting an ERA a run less than the next best guy. Wheeler: this is what makes roster building so frustrating. We traded Beltran for him in 2013. He ranged from inconsistent to injured (lost two years) to promising over 7 years. I had no issue with not committing to him long term at top dollar, but now he appears to have come into his own. Good for him, bad for us. Rojas: I'm still working from home so I don't listen to WFAN much, but I think the Mets avoid WFAN cuz they are on another station. I can't think of anyone I know that likes Rojas. But here's the thing. The Mets are in first place in spite of a ridiculous number of injuries to the starting lineup, grossly underperforming players that were healthy (i.e. - Lindor and Conforto), significant injuries to the starting rotation and injury issues in the bullpen. He gets my benefit of the doubt for now.

Disappointed Islander fan checking in to say Go Habs! Nothing against TB except their success. No real love for Habs except they're original 6 and it's been awhile for them.

I was looking for old songs that I haven't heard in awhile. Amongst others, these two stood out for me. The outro to Fat Bottomed Girls is great!

Low country blushing bride, blind to the ways of time Clear crystal burning mind, (she flies) Falling through liquid air with music everywhere Stone faces silent stare, (she flies) The old guard on the hill can feel the chill Deep into the freeze of those who don't believe Been a long time (Waiting on love)

As a Mets/Bills/Islanders fan I haven't gotten nearly enough joy over the years. That invariably devolves into enjoying watching successful teams (and rivals) like the Yankees and Patriots fail. Nothing wrong with that to me. I just hope that when one (or all) of my teams become dominant I don't end up being an arrogant prick about it - because that's what I see from the other side all too often.

Thanks for the heads up, that's a must see. Gavin Harrison playing with the band is a bonus. If the Zappa band warms up, even better! -
