Tthe Colts and Bills were evenly matched teams. Rivers brought his A game, and their OL and defensive front 7 did too. Fortunately for us Allen brought his MVP level game, outside the ugly fumble at the end that nearly cost us the game. In Allen’s defense he knew 27-24 was a tenuous lead and we needed a TD to ice the game. And we weren’t that far away from that reality. For the Bills the pass rush was simply outmatched. The Bills lack of pressure on 4 man rushes vs the Colts top of the league OL meant the Bills brought extra pressure and men open as pass defense cannot hold up well beyond 3-5 seconds. One way to fix this is to simply force the issue and bring obvious pressure off the edges from the corners. Also there appears to be a need to mix in AJ Klein on 3rd down blitzing linebacker packages. Each week presents a new challenge, so the Ravens strengths are not the Colts. As good as Lamar Jackson is he is a different QB than Philip Rivers. With Jackson you want him in the pocket for 4-5 seconds. That said chasing after Lamar is tiring on a front 7 so it will be vital to shut down their early down running game and force Lamar into 3rd and longs.

Lamar Jackson is an amazing scrambler, and such a run threat, that it opens up defenses to come forward and leaves passes open over the top.

Per ESPN Get Up: Bills best bet to knock off KC?
Dr.Sack replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m focused on Pittsburgh. This kind of talk is nice but we were one Joey Bosa sack away from Matt Barkley. Let’s be real we take this one game at a time. Can we beat the Steelers? Yes. And we will know more in 27 hours. Can we beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead? That’s hopefully 6 games from now. A lot can happen between then and now. -
Here is the only metric that matters: number of players who end up on the injury report due to contact, not talking about those non-contact ACLs. Bernard Pollard, Ronnie Lott, Steve Atwater, Mike Singletary, Ray Lewis, = violent. As for the Steelers, I feel their reputation provides some bit of cover for them to make hits that many finesse teams aren’t allowed. To that end you need players who are fast and big. Remember Seattle’s Legion of Boom secondary? The broadcasters bought into that labeling, and as a result they were allowed to hit players more dangerously than many secondaries. This ultimately cost Cam Chancellor his career as he suffered a neck injury to the impact of many violent collisions. Defenders known as “hitters” aren’t made of steel. Eventually they all breakdown, victims of their playing style. The best defensive units are therefore better measured by how tactical they are, and how good they are as measured by; yards against, and points against.

Hear Me Out: This Win is EXACTLY What the Team Needed

We saw Brady close the gap vs KC as the Chiefs coasted to a 27-24 win. I’d rather put up W’s then win by a billzillion points. -
I used to go through about one DirecTV remotes per season typically when we were officially eliminated. It’s amazing how non-durable they are.

If a team has a stud like Donald or Bosa, it would be a good idea to double them and run directly at them early and often to wear down their legs. It’s basic attrition. The legs and lower back only have so much resistance before they start wearing down. Preferably run the ball with your RBs and not with your franchise QB.

If we give up another Hail Mary I’m going to stop watching the final minute. -
Let’s consider permanently replacing Milano with Klein.

What Milano lacks in power he makes up for it in coverage. Klein is a nice LB in a downhill straight line attacking scheme. -

Noticed after the WR catch he spun off Tremaine Edmunds tackle. Crazy considering Edmunds was behind him and had a clean shot. -
