Probably not. It's very rare that Chicago is this good late in the season & Green Bay has a national following too. The only other FOX top 10 tv markets with teams playing at 1 are Atlanta & DC, so Bills/Bengals will likely be a good lead-in for most of the country. The local Buffalo affiliates aren't happy though. CBS will have to air Broncos-Raiders at 4 (instead of likely Steelers/Ravens @ 1) & FOX will have a slightly smaller (but still massive) number at 1 instead of 425.

The 430 game is usually the highest rated of the week.

Yes. The best was about 5 years ago or so when they had one division sorted out mostly in the 1pm window then the other in the later timeslot. What the league seems to have done lately is put the non-meaningful games @ 1, followed by the meaningful games in the higher-rated 4:30 frame.

FOX/CBS can't protect games in week 18 because they aren't assigned beforehand.

I don't see the comparison at all - changing your travel to plans to spend more days in LA a week before Christmas is way more expensive than signing up for Amazon or Peacock. Any other TNF partner would have made the same request. Good on John.
