He was disagreeing with a posters opinion that pot shouldn't be banned because people will lose millions of dollars to use it (I paraphrased). I agree that is not a good argument. Although I would not have countered with the food example (life necessity) but said that alcohol. People get addicted to it, will do stupid **** for it (like lose millions of dollars), and it can do harm to others. Really the compelling argument for being upset at Dareus is that it was the rules and youre so important to the team (as shown by the teams commitment to you) that it was a huge let down. And yes Rex has monicrum of blame but to the point of being insignificant.

Not true. Schwartz subbed DL a lot. Rex didnt.

As said up thread. No. I do think TT's contract lets them pick a QB in this year's draft once they part ways with EJ. Thats the back up battle CJ will have to win. -

Vet discount. The CBA had to keep those older players around somehow. -

I've heard Powell's shuttle time was very good despite his pedestrian 40 time. This could explain why his routes are getting him open. -
Bills announce contract extension for Tyrod Taylor

What KtD said and he still has a lot of money/success to play for. My understanding is he gets >27 mil if his option gets picked up. That sounds like plenty of incentive to leave it all on the field while only getting 9 mil this year. -

To your edit. I like the idea of limiting the roster bonus through the 2nd (after year 4?) option if possible too. However, I prefer to stretch it over the course of the contract rather than leave upfront, and I think the Bills also prefer this based on how big that upfront number is (think cash to TT) Nah one guy just carried the weight of all of our typical collective pessimism. It was really impressive how much he had to ignore. I think he is still not sure if the Bills have an option after this to retain TT. I also liked the Final Destination jokes. -

I'll join the fun. Wrong. You could have one with Team options that don't need to be picked up or bought out. Seems as if there is one of these points after year 1. So.... if they have a high pick and TT doesn't perform they could pick without any hindrance from this contract. -
Jason Cole report on Doug Whaley
YattaOkasan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They all need to be assessed individually. They have 95% chance of failing. Taken to the 12th power (not multiplying by 12) gives a 54% chance that they all fail. So you have 46% chance that at least one is a star. -
Its tough for sure. I like JfH post on the subject. If you have a #1 its great because you should still take potential, but you can let the draft come to you.

I've also been telling people its done based on Hokie's post. EDIT: And now he has made it official!!!!! -
I think the point is that if you don't have a line to protect him or a WR to throw to then you might not be able to assess accurately. If you're picking a QB high (QB's in the later rounds rarely pan out), then your sacrificing resources that could/need to be spent other positions.

If these 12 guys that you draft each only have 5% chance of being a star then you have a better shot with 1 player thats 50/50 being a star. -
Schefter: Shaq Lawson Back Between Week 6 and 8
YattaOkasan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McGahee's injury was his knee and Shaq's was his spleen shoulder. These injuries do not have the same chance of recovery (Shaq>>McGahee) -

This. Should he be fired for his clock management too? -
Schefter: Shaq Lawson Back Between Week 6 and 8

He was pretty good at it. I forget the game but Shaq stopped the RB for 3-4 yard game when he had to cover, but Dodd gave up like 30 yard gainer when he had to cover the RB. Combine his physical attributes (I think his 3 cone, shuttle, and jump were in the category most likely to have a 10+ sack season) with his mental (he was making run pass reads almost every down) and he could be a stud. -
Jason Cole report on Doug Whaley
YattaOkasan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats a tough game to play. They looked for trading partners to move down. There was nothing there that they thought represented value. They took the guy they thought would be the best despite the injury (I'm assuming they knew about the injury). Whaley tried to move back, but couldn't get a good deal. They may not have presented it this way, BUT it fits Badol's idea. We used our first on player at a premium position, and he should get at least half a season to develop a little (at least mentally). -

I believe we've been closer to the playoffs since hes been GM than at any other point in this drought. The last two years we have been 9-7 and 8-8. Its not there but its getting close. -

YattaOkasan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're really number 7 because the Pats and Steelers would be ahead of us if not for suspensions. I think its a bit high, but I like these rankings way more than his others. I forgot to check more closely but was there anyone else with a bigger difference between their two ranks. We were 20th and are now 5th!!! -
Players above/below expectations for this season
YattaOkasan replied to RobRyanFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
fun game. With a way too early in TC prediction above: Blanton, Ragland, Gilmore below: Darby, P Brown, Clay Some of these are tough because some people have crazy expectations for some of the more polarizing players on the team. That and the homer in me expects/wants 1300 rushing yards from Shady, 4000 passing yards from TT, 1400 receiving yards from Watkins, 10 sacks from Hughes (besides the overall great play of Dareus, Cog, and Cordy) -

The scariest part of the upcoming 2016 season
YattaOkasan replied to Jobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure where Bandit is to discuss. But last year they were first in YPC and if you take out the QB number I think they still graded highly (6th if I remember). I do agree that the 3 and out percentage and the rush yards do make sense. However I wonder if our chance for points was greater if we did get a first down (once we get some momentum we are tough).
