  1. Isn’t this a lot harder to do with the covid rules. He wouldn’t even get in their building til after the game. Plus you would probably wanna digest the info a little which makes the game planning tough. I know the hoodie has done us wrong for years but it’ll be ok.
  2. Punter didn’t get many reps But that’s another good thing.
  3. K. If you think throwing with a >90% WP is not being conservative then I suggest we start thinking of McD as aggressive this year. Would agree with previous years we would be conservative.
  4. So you want revenge for that? I just want a W so they can sit at 2-5. I found a win probability chart from 2008. Up 2 scores in the 4th and you have a 90% WP. That seems significant to me that youre gonna win. I think your 5 min cut off is arbitrary (unless your willing to include smaller leads, i.e. the Dolphins game). http://archive.advancedfootballanalytics.com/2008/08/win-probability.html
  5. So historically 8 minutes (@ the start of the drive) with a 2 score lead is a run the ball time from what i have seen from conservative coaches. I guess we need some data on play selection < 5 min with a 2 score lead. I dont think any coaches are throwing there cause the game is over if you run the ball (an onsides will be needed there). So your gripe is about play selection <5 min with a 2 score lead. Talk about inconsequential. The outcome of the game is significantly assured if you have the ball with <8 minutes and a 2 score lead btw.
  6. Jets game were up 24-10 with 8 minutes to go and were still throwing. We are throwing with less than 6 minutes to go. Thats not "playing to win" thats going for the jugular when the game is over. Raiders game up 30-16 with 8 minutes to go and were still throwing. I will concede that with 5 minutes to go and the same score we ran three straight times, but that did require timeouts to be burned.
  7. Youre missing the examples. After being up multiple scores in both Rams and Jets games we did not just run the ball and play conservative. We threw the ball a lot still in both those cases. That is the point everyone is trying to make.
  8. So youre evidence is that he started off passing in one game? They had 23 runs to 27 passes; of those 23 runs, 8 were by Josh that may have been dropbacks. On the season they are passing 60% of the time. Thats a passing first team that is having success (could be a bad team thats always behind, but were 4-2).
  9. I don't understand where this take comes from. Were passing the rock a lot. They will pass a lot against seattle. I don't see McD as defense first this year.
  10. This seems the right place for this breakdown on morse. Some of these blocks are special and on really critical plays.
  11. Its the pass rush to me. We have the highest paid (or one of the highest) DL in the league. We should be able to generate some pressure. Goff and Carr had a lot of time to throw.
  12. So its more than just probablistic for me. Theres the risk/reward part to it in my analysis. 2 possession game is worth the risk of only being up 7 which probably doesnt hurt you at all. It is more likely you will fail the 2 pt yes, but the value of being up 9 is worth the risk of likely only being up 7. Again (probably for someone who agrees with me), if youre up 9 what do you do after the diggs TD and youre up 15. I think you go for it again to go up 3 possessions. Then were not even talking about Josh's sack as bad cause were up 3 possessions already.
  13. I think youre right it was time, but they didnt actually get a first down. I have 1:24 after the time out (pro football reference), and 84 seconds is just beyond the 2x 40 second play clocks.
  14. we were up 7 and had a choice of PAT or go for 2. I think you are misunderstanding the situation. PAT would make us up 8. 2 pt would be up 9 which is 2 possessions.
  15. My only guess is time? I was also surprised by the kneel on the same set of downs that we were running the ball. I think motors run for 11 took enough time off that we didnt need to do anything more. Hes talking about end of the game. Before half i agree that was the logic.
  16. I dont see how spite would come into it all. Very certain down 1 a home team would go the PAT and not 2. Unless they thought they had no business being in the game which I dont think yesterday was. You go up 2 possessions if you convert (offense has been cooking) and failing I dont think it brings a loss anymore into the equation as almost any HC is gonna kick a PAT. Hell if you convert the first one and youre up 9, do you do it again when youre up 15 after the Diggs bomb??? (I say yes).
  17. I guess I'm saying hes been beyond perfect because of some drive SAVING plays that only he makes (Beasley TD on 3rd down). Bills were 7/13 on 3rd down and I think 4 of those failed conversions were singeltary runs (other 2 were 3rd and forever drop and the play he got injured), 7/9 on third down isnt merely doing your job thats doing very well. I'm not sure how these type of plays work out in your grading (grading is sorta silly imo but I come here for the discussion) https://sports.yahoo.com/video/josh-allens-most-impressive-throws-000400509.html
  18. Someone said it up thread but I think it bears repeating. They wanted it on tape. They will use it when think they need to, but I think they like the threat of it more than actually doing it. This a passing team (Raiders have been run out the building and we went 60-40 pass).
  19. I don't understand your definition here? Is it perfect to go three and out? So hes losing points for getting us into field goal range and then getting us knocked out? I agree it was a bad play but he had numerous good plays that should more than overcome them on your grade scale. I think he plays above the scheme on many of those drives and is the reason were getting points. @Cover 1 what do you think the grade should be? 😂😂 For those not checking out the Cover 1 Allen breakdowns I suggest you go look. I would say even start with the breakdowns from 2018 and watch some before this years breakdowns. The throw last week against the Rams to Beasley (down the QB right sideline for almost a TD) was a such a thing of beauty. Great accuracy and he threw with anticipation!!!! Allen is balling out. Quit this noise and enjoy the fun ride.
  20. I think people trust our defense to return and the Seahawks didnt have a good defense last year. Now that our offense is proving its not just a couple games they are trusting our offense is on par with theirs.
  21. I dont see Beane going anywhere; not sure why youre more worried about him being stolen than daboll leaving. You said Daboll has called great games and I think we all agree Josh is definitely better this year. Thats gonna get Daboll a ton of attention (whether you want to credit it to him or not). Going into the year I didnt want Daboll as OC for 2021. He either does what hes doing now and gets an HC gig or no improvement and were moving on (guess there is small chance for him to stick around while still being good).
  22. My hope is that he gets a thank you for your work bonus from the Pegulas that encourages him to leave the AFC East and hopefully AFC. My fear is that he takes the Jets HC job and he and Douglass fix Darnold or they can just take Trevor lawrence.
  23. Its a shame cause i liked our PR versus their punt team.
  24. Considering his record against the pats and that he’s made the playoffs twice, he’s had to beat a few winning teams.
  25. I think the dolphins are better than the eagles for sure. Jets are worst for sure but I have the jets grouped with them and the other two higher. Dolphins had a rough start with NE and Us. Do you think the cowboys win either of those games? to the OP the 10-6 2017 chiefs and falcons could be considered.
