I think the OPs point is most salient in regards to QB position. It’s the most important position in the game yet 2/3 AFC selections didn’t lead their teams to the post season despite multiple pro bowl selections at other positions from their teams. The thing to probably remember is when this voting took place we were in a bit of a slump. With hindsight both Burrow and Josh (his running more than makes up for any ground lost as a passer) should be in over Herbert and Jackson (huge error). that and it’s crazy the number 1 defense doesn’t have a pro bowler.

Agree I think re-signings like Levi, McKenzie, Milano, Williams show that value.

Fair not EVERY but UFAs are generally overpays. We have hit on some ourselves (Williams last year). But if you’re complaint is we are paying too much for UFAs that are depth then I’m saying that’s pretty typical. I don’t think like any on those were worth their contract but I see the intention in most of them. Klein was insurance against Milano leaving. Mongo we can get out of after this year. I think all of these were luxuries we could afford cause we weren’t paying josh yet. Going forward we’re not gonna be active in UFA at all. Your point is still that we need a dome to get better deals in UFA? I just don’t think it matters that much.

I’m saying any UFA is gonna be an over pay no matter if great, good, backup. I’ve thought we’ve gotten pretty good deals on the players we have re-signed. If you’re speaking to we are overpaying relative to typical UFA overpays, then maybe. But I think the idea that re-signees take deals says it’s more perception than reality as the re-signees have better perspective and they take deals.

Are you complaining about over paying for players during UFA? That’s what happens?

Disagree about current team. Did you see mongo and others last year start a brawl to protect josh. Have you seen Spencer brown just wrecking people through the whistle. Or Dawkins (2nd Covid changed him) who is crushing people. I would say the violence of this team has been huge in the last two games. Singletary has been on angry runs in consecutive weeks.

That was a bit flukey. For the most part it should’ve introduced some parity into the league as it gives more tough games for division winners and more easy games for teams that finished 4th. I also think another bye would be good. To make the schedule work just remove the preseason.

Ed is a better pass rusher. Currently #6 in win rate for DT. Simmons isn’t in the top 10. Agree. His numbers are comparable to quinnen Williams (who is very good) on pro football reference. Would like to see some rate data from PFF of the two as though Ed has played more games he might have played similar number of snaps.

Yup I totally understand but McKenzie was a concern at the start of the season and has had trouble. I’m at the point I just want Hyde back there to fair catch them all.

The McKenzie untouched fumble on a kickoff was pretty bad. I don’t understand people clamoring for him to return again. It wasn’t just one mistake that did him in. For the record, Stephenson also makes me super nervous

Agree and I would say in bad weather our finesse is better than others. It’s just that our run game isn’t better in obvious running situations. That’s why weather hurts us so much. If we can get a little better in the trenches I think our ability to throw in weather will stand out.

I think defenses adjusted. They saw a lot of man last year and we crushed it. We’re seeing more zone now. Thought after pats game we could trust him to dump it off. He didn’t but that’s something that can be taught so it’s great to learn in a win.

Wish he would get off blocks better. If a lineman gets his hands on him, he struggles. Agree on everything about instincts though. Would also note we’re back to elite TE defense after a a one year regression towards middle of the pack.

Most outdoor stadiums have grass. I think it would’ve been less slippery (not by much though).

For my fantasy championship I want the ravens to get smoked on the ground. My opponent has 6 players in that game and none are RBs.

Doyle was almost as athletic as Brown and edges out Bates on RAS. Not that I’m arguing he should play cause his technique still has a ways to go. Hoping he can be swing tackle next year.

Colts are gonna play a backup QB against a hungry LV team. I dont know if all their OL are back from this past weekend. So that’s a pretty good case for them to lose that one.

Sure we can more afford to lose to the falcons. But still gotta win out.

Yeah it should align with all the 2-1 scenarios people drew up last week. We need to win out to hold the division. But we should be able to do that
