Bond isn’t that good anyway. He won’t sign here, we are only keeping at most 6 WRs but likely 5 and he hasn’t been in the program all off season. He will go to a rebuilding team like Cleveland (?) where they have roster spots to burn.

I personally wasn’t a fan of Kinchens but was surprised we passed on him with his connection to Addae and McDermott’s pal Manny Diaz. He has definitely shown well in LA. But I also wasn’t a fan of Bishop either so it always felt like we forced the position. The injuries are hard to predict tho, who knows where he would be if he was actually on the field. Probably time to take a break from Utes in the draft. They are skinny and break in Buffalo 😂

He looked really good at Safety. Could see him starting at safety due to an injury this year and not giving the job back.

Yea, you probably remember I was a pretty huge fan of his last draft, so I have been keeping tabs. Just the off season so far, but does look a bit like he and Nix are getting a connection down like they had at Oregon.

Thought Troy Franklin played well in the preseason game vs the 49ers continuing the positive reviews he had been getting out of camp. Sean Payton can be fickle, so at any time he may wind up back in the dog house, but seems Franklin has improved from year 1 to 2.

Chase Lundt was impressive to me today too. You can tell he has stubby arms but he took it to the DEs all day to negate that. His athleticism on the pulls was great too, thought he was the best of the second stringers. I was very disappointed in Hoecht. It felt like watching Von with how he outran his gaps and when he was actually there to make a play, he missed tackles. Let’s hope he is used creatively like the Rams did bc that was not pretty. As for LJ, it was disappointing as well. He struggled. He took a couple years to improve in college, so this may be a player who is quiet this year and makes more plays in year 2 and 3. I really have a tough time imagining Shavers on the 53. I’d say there is at least 2 QBs, 4 RBs, 9 OL, 5 WRs, 2 TEs, 9 DL, 5 LB, 9 DBs and 4 specialists or 49 locks. Likely we keep a 10th DL so we don’t cut Carter or Soloman and likely we keep Hawes as the third tight end. So I think it would come down to them keeping a 10th DB (Dane or Strong), a 10th OL (SVPG, Lundt or Green), a 6th linebacker, or a 6th WR. I think OL and DB will get 10 spots. Maybe they only keep 5 LBs but I’d be pretty surprised with how oft injured that group is. So barring an injury to a lock in one of the position groups, I think Shavers would have to beat out Elijah Moore to make the 53. Shavers may be more deserving of a roster spot, but the Bills may think he would be easier and cheaper to get on the Practice Squad than Moore and his guaranteed contract. Then you can just call him up if you really need him until his eligibility is used up.

On a tangentially related note, I have a fantasy football YouTube channel that I thought was really smart and informative. Very data driven and something I weigh heavily during my drafts. Then all the sudden they drop a new episode and I start watching and the voice of the guest is familiar. It was Mike Schopp!! I was horrified, what had I done to my fantasy teams. It was like buying an expensive painting, showing it to polite company, and then having a 6 year old blurt out it is just a banana taped to a wall. Anyway, McDermott won’t be fired unless a second 13 seconds happens imo.

I read somewhere that Keonte Jenkins was running ahead of Ulofoshio with the LBs. With Spector out I would say him assuming Shaq Thompson is too name brand for this exercise.

Samuel would count $8 mil on our dead cap this year and another $3+ mil in 2026 if cut, he will be a Bill through 2025 I believe. He will def be cut next year. Yea we will see. Definitely a guy I root for, but someone I think us fans value more than another team would.

Unless Shavers plays very well in preseason, I think they will feel like they can get him to the practice squad. Then they get three elevations before having to commit a roster spot to him.

McDermott was pretty effusive in praising Shavers last year too. Still a long way to go before cut downs. Think he would need to beat our Moore and his 2.5 million dollar guaranteed contract as 6 WRs is probably unlikely with all the guys on the DL. They may start with Shavers on the practice squad along with Cain, Virgil and Wilkerson and elevate those guys to play gunner throughout the year.

Probably all they feed them is clam chowda. You can’t expect a man with burnt hands to catch every pass. And he doesn’t even like soup!
