  1. I'm sure he'll be a free agent signee. Just not for Buffalo.
  2. Denver was 22nd in 2015 and 23rd in 2016 in 'big plays'. Bills were #1 both years. Just for context.
  3. To be clear, I don't think plateuing (sp?) keeps him here beyond 2018. But there is no point in jettisoning him and then paying some journeyman to most likely do a worse job than him. If we draft a home run Rook in the first round of 2018 and he beats Ty out in camp that's fine too, then you look for a trade partner or be happy that you have an exceptional backup for a year.
  4. I mean, I pretty clearly stated he'd need the same level of play he has been providing. You think he needs to take a step forward to stay, I think he can be who he has been and stay. Neither of us think he can regress and stay.
  5. What does 'struggling' entail? If struggling involves a QB on our roster outperforming Tyrod then I'd expect him to be gone. I don't see that happening, but stranger things have happened.
  6. We're closer than you think. I'm of the opinion that they'll keep him until someone takes his job. Even if he remains the same Tyrod we've had for the past 2 years I think he'll be here until someone on our roster proves to be better than him.
  7. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Proclaiming he won't be here is incredibly sill and premature.
  8. Based on? He's under contract through the 2018 season.
  9. In that same span the Ravens were 6-2 in playoff games. And the Super Bowl year was Tyrod's 2nd year. They gave Flacco a 6 year $120M deal after the Super Bowl. You can think whatever you want, but that job was not up for the taking.
  10. It most certainly is the case. My post was more directed at the 4th quarter comeback stat being used as some end all be all. Heck, week 16 should have been #3 in 2 years if the D/ST doesn't blow it in 80 seconds. Like we looked at in the topic I started earlier this summer, I credit the O with 0 carries and 3 letdowns and I credit the D with 6 carries and a league high 9 letdowns. The team has been nuts! and now he's reposting in every thread like it's somehow relevant
  11. Nope. We're in a great position to bring in the talent the FO & HC want and build the team with some direction.
  12. Chargers vs Giants Rivers vs Eli one final time before their entire QB class retires.
  13. So they haven't occurred, but he somehow has 2? There's a lot more to 4th quarter comebacks than the QB. In wins, Buffalo's Defense allows 14.5 points per game. In losses they allow 30.5. For the Cowboys it's 18.5 & 24.3. Over the past 2 years the Bills have won and lost based almost entirely on whether their Jekyll & Hyde defense shows up or not. The offensive production has been pretty consistent, very rarely being a let down but also never truly carrying us to a win when the defense was falling apart. Aaron Rodgers has 10 4QC in his 11 year career, Matt Stafford had 8 last year alone. Who would you rather have?
  14. no point in giving up assets for either a downgrade at QB, or a highly overpaid backup.
  15. Ryan and Flacco were the same year, fwiw
  16. Does Bortles still have more pick-6's than career wins?
  17. He complained about targets when he and Tyrod were both injured and EJ was playing QB...
  18. I remember when I was really little I always used to wonder why people would refer to others as pre-Madonna. Good times...
  19. I get your frustration, but to your last point it really isn't stupid long term. If the Bills have a supremely talented player at a position they do not intend on allocating a lot of the cap to (especially to an individual player at a position that typically employs 6-7), and he has publicly stated he expects his WR class to change the market, why wouldn't you try to get resources for a player who will be here for 4 years on a rookie deal out of it? If we kept him and let him walk the absolute best we could hope for would be a 3rd round comp pick, if we played all of our FA cards exactly right. Instead we got a guaranteed 2nd round pick out of a team that is unlikely to finish .500 or better.
  20. They'd probably make an offer in line with how they value the position. He'd probably turn it down for more money elsewhere.
  21. I've not seen that, care to link it? Time to throw isn't time in the pocket, if that's what you meant.
  22. I'm not even talking about 'team players' at this point, I'm talking about positions of value.
  23. In that regard I think Dareus has a chance to mature and make an impression on the staff. So far it would appear he is off to a good start in that regard. Hopefully he provides many reasons to want to keep him here.
  24. Exactly. I took it as he doesn't want to have, or pay for, talent just anywhere because they are talented. They have priority positions that they will focus on and pay a premium for, and role players to fill in the rest. It is an unfortunate necessity in a capped league. That isn't to say he won't take talent where he can find it in the draft, but the team has priorities and a vision when it comes to the roster. The roster we've had the past 2 years has been very talented, but it's amounted to .500 or worse. Hughes and Dareus play positions that we seem to value, though Dareus' contract may be the only thing actually keeping him here. Seems like we want front 7 players on D and QB & LT on O. If you look at Carolina's roster and the people they decided to pay it's QB, MLB (QB of the D), DL. They didn't have much luck at Tackle, but they tried through FA. They didn't seem to prioritize WR much.
