  1. I guess I just don't see the point. Nobody making actual decisions is going to ignore a player's NFL body of work if it is available.
  2. Okay, what did you mean by the following? Because to me it reads that you would like to compare the QBs based on this preseason alone. I can guarantee you that 26's opinion on Tyrod vs Peterman is based on more than this preseason.
  3. No, I compared Peterman to Matt Ryan based solely on this preseason. Not the parameters I would use, but I was just following the conversation. I didn't even mention Tyrod in my post. We've already been over the validity (or lack thereof) of comebacks as a standalone stat, but just to apply it to the context of the actual discussion in this topic Peterman has 0.
  4. Daikiel Shorts (WR) Logan Thomas (TE) Nigel Williams (DL)
  5. I just picked a QB with meh numbers that I knew he wasn't biased against. I didn't even put that much thought into it
  6. If we're only judging by this preseason then Peterman is better than Matt Ryan too. Do you really believe that to be the case?
  7. Or the WR could fight for 1 yard and make a 1st down. We'll just have to agree to disagree, as usual.
  8. Didn't you just say in your previous post '6 yard passes on 3rd and 7 make TT's make Tanny's stats look all pretty, but they don't win games.' as an argument to include Cutler over Tyrod or Tanny? Why not bring up defense in that statement if that's what you actually meant?
  9. the Bears have gone 7-13 with Cutler at QB the last 2 years. 12-23 over the past 3 17-29 over the past 4 Let's not talk about what wins games as an argument for Cutler.
  10. Think we can trade him to Denver for TJ Ward?
  11. Should've pledged $1,000 for every penalty yard called on him
  12. It's an opportunity for him for sure. I also think Matthews, in a contract year, has an opportunity to make some plays (not necessarily explosive ones, but a chance to redefine his image before hitting the market). With our current WR corps I think he will get more snaps outside than he ever has before, so it will be interesting to see what he makes of them.
  13. Oh, it wasn't a pity statement. I just found myself double checking what team I was reading about because the worry headline sounds exactly like the Bills.
  14. Yeah, I think they more just meant we were missing some star power. Not sure how the OL doesn't even get a mention unless they know Things will straighten out when Glenn starts to play.
  15. ESPN put out a piece on each team's weaknesses based on other NFL Executive's opinions. For the Bills: The worry: Buffalo lacks sufficient playmaking ability in the passing game after trading Sammy Watkins and losing Anquan Boldin to retirement. Exec unfiltered: "They traded away their most explosive receiver [Watkins], and even though he was often hurt, when you get rid of that guy, who is your guy? You don't have Robert Woods, you don't have Watkins. Jordan Matthewsis not an explosive guy. He is just a smart, tough possession receiver. Where do they get chunk yardage from in the passing game?" Another thing I found interesting is that Baltimore's worry sounds like where a lot of us Bills fans have been. Baltimore Ravens The worry: Baltimore is spinning its wheels as a team that is not really rebuilding but not really contending. Exec unfiltered: "I might rather be in the Browns' situation than be in Baltimore's situation. Baltimore is just stuck. They are paying Jimmy Smith like he is a top-five corner, but he is not. They are paying Joe Flacco like he is a top-five QB, but he is not. You have some old parts like Terrell Suggs getting phased out, and then they just have so many injuries. At least Cleveland has some flexibility."
  16. If he were traded it'd be $6.65M Dead Cap hit in 2017 for Buffalo $14.2M Dead Cap hit in 2018 for Buffalo The team getting him would have him for ~11M in '17-'19 after salary & options and ~15M in '20 & '21 if I'm reading Spotrac right. The number for '17-'19 doesn't seem all that awful for a disruptive interior lineman, potentially with a new chip on his shoulder.
  17. True enough. But this is the first time, to my recollection, that the people in charge are actually reworking the foundation in that time span. Unfortunately, it is difficult to keep a lot of the things above that in tact while doing major foundation work.
  18. I know it's just my opinion, but even if Doug got full autonomy I don't think the results would have differed much. Very good personnel guy, not a great GM.
  19. I think they saw this as an opportunity to maximize the value they could get out of him based on they idea he wasn't in the future plans. They got a 1 year rental DB and a pick that's likely to be top 40. Better than letting him walk and maybe getting a 3rd round pick if they meet all other criteria.
  20. If true I wonder if there are suitors, or if we're talking about a cut?
  21. He was supposed to be throwing at a net and didn't realize until it was too late. Don't blame him, he's concussed!
  22. And above him (technically laterally I suppose)? Do you keep Whaley and force another HC on him? Or do you go out and try to find a GM who wants to work with Lynn?
