  1. Sure he can. He didn't trust the receivers on the field to beat their man.
  2. I know he technically retired yesterday, but I would've liked to see Brandon Flowers get a shot here. If he got the call he'd probably un-retire.
  3. Here's a fun comparison: Robert Woods' first 4 years: 3.6 RPG, 43 YPG, 12 TDs Rod Streater's first 4 years: 3.0 RPG, 43.4 YPG, 8 TDs
  4. We ranked 7th in the actual article, FWIW.
  5. It's pretty simple for me when someone asks who is most responsible. Who was asked to do the most? Who contributed the most? When the answer to both is the same person then there is no question that person is most responsible, in my opinion. It is also consistently argued that passing should be easy because of our run game, for what it's worth. I think Shady provides very similar benefits to Tyrod when it comes to stuff that isn't on the stat sheet. Both players require attention from the defense, even when it doesn't immediately appear that they are getting the ball that play.
  6. it's from the other Tyrod thread, but I'm guessing this guy
  7. Matt Barkley had less total attempts than Jordan Howard last year. He was asked to do less and had less of an overall impact on their offense for the season as a whole. Barkley also only started 6 games last year, so a bit of a special circumstance. If you want to know any others you can look them up yourself though. I am consistent in my message and I have yet to see any response that indicates otherwise other than Commonsense looking at positional values and applying rates and qualifiers which seems to me like a way to conform the data to what you want, but that's just my opinion on it.
  8. Yes, I would. Fitz had 647 attempts to Fred's 220. He contributed comparably on a yards per attempt basis over significantly more attempts, and more TDs. Fitz also contributed a lot of turnovers that year though, which should probably be factored in.
  9. That division is known for being inconsistent, for sure.
  10. Yep, all of that. I think what Bobby's referring to is Tyrod's roster bonus that hits in March(?). If he's cut before then it doesn't hit our books.
  11. I read what he said, and he's not wrong. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out though.
  12. So we come back to the same question I asked earlier, and then clarified for you. Do you believe that the player who touched the ball 291 times was more integral to the success of our offense last year than the one who touched the ball 573 times? Again, that's not including handoffs for the QB, that's how many times each player had their number called on game day.
  13. I'm not bending anything. I told you how many times Tyrod was asked to do something with the ball vs how many times Shady was. The QB is asked to do more and produced at a higher level over a larger sample size. That isn't to say Shady was bad, or played poorly, or anything like that. It's just the nature of offenses in the league. The QB has the biggest impact bar none.
  14. I'd flip Clay and Zay. And that's assuming Boldin is WR2.
  15. Barring injury it's Sammy.
  16. 573 is Tyrod's passes, rushes, and sacks. Not his handoffs... 291 is Shady's passes, rushes, and receptions. As to your question, I don't know. How many attempts did they have each? And even then, your scenario is hypothetical and my stats are what actually happened.
  17. We're 3-2 without Shady. We're 0-3 without Tyrod. But that says more to me about the backups than the starters.
  18. So you think that the guy who touched the ball 291 times was more responsible for our offense's success than the guy who touched the ball 573 times?
  19. Nobody made that argument. You still haven't backed up your statement.
  20. And attempts, and TDs. The ball is in the QBs hands nearly every play. They are always the most distinguishing factor in an offense's success, especially in today's NFL. To argue otherwise is foolish. And, to be clear, that's all of Tyrod's contributed yards and all of Shady's contributed yards. Some of it is overlapped because it was passes from Tyrod to Shady.
  21. Nice deflection. Did you even attempt to back up your post? Let's do a refresher. This is what you said. 'More to do with the success of this offense than ANY other player on it.' I asked you to prove it an ANY quantifiable way. I in no way insinuated Shady wasn't good, or wouldn't be successful without Tyrod. Here's why I disagree with your statement: Tyrod had 573 total attempts in 2016, Shady had 291. Tyrod had 23 total TDs, Shady had 14. Tyrod had 3,411 yards, Shady had 1,623. Please see the above. If you'd like to provide a counter argument with any sort of research or data I'm happy to look at it.
  22. I truly appreciate the efforts, and look forward to the next piece.
  23. I'd love to see you substantiate this in any quantifiable way.
  24. Again, I'd say about 90% of the repetitive pro statements are prompted by unsupported exaggerations about how bad Tyrod is. You don't see very many posts out of the blue, especially in threads that are generally unrelated, that are over the top pro Tyrod filled with unsubstantiated exaggeration. They are almost always prompted.
  25. Amen brother. Cheers!
