  1. He's in the populist wing of the Republican Party, so he's a strong candidate to win his party's nomination in 2024. If he picks someone like Senator Scott or Nikki Haley to be his running mate, he'll neutralize the inevitable charges of racism the Democrats will level at him. Based on Biden's performance to date, I don't think he has any chance of winning a second term, even if he were to run again. The Democrats could very well put up someone from the populist wing of their own party which would make for a very interesting and very ugly election.
  2. And the losing party will blame racism and voter suppression, not necessarily in that order. This is not entirely on Biden. although the unnecessarily large stimulus package in January didn't help. It's also on our Federal Reserve, which despite 5%+ inflation is still stimulating the hell out of the economy. It makes no sense whatsoever. I don't think there's any grownups left in Washington.
  3. This is a tactic to divert the public's attention from the preventable disaster that's unfolding in Afghanistan right now. It appears to be working with Biden's shrinking base; I can't imagine anyone else falling for it.
  4. That went downhill quickly. Because this happened so suddenly and the American evacuation has been so inept, the Biden Administration ought to be concerned about Americans not being evacuated in time and captured by the Taliban. It's possibly the Taliban will want to rub our noses in their victory, particularly if they can extract concessions from what looks like a weak American president. The Iranian hostage crisis remains in the living memory of many Americans, and I'm sure the Taliban haven't forgotten it either.
  5. It's an attempt to distract from a colossal foreign policy failure by the Biden Administration. The general policy of withdrawal was probably correct, but the Biden Administration couldn't have handled the withdrawal any more ineptly than they did. Also, we've proved once again than "military intelligence" is an oxymoron. Did no one see this coming?
  6. It's embarrassing when the president sets a deadline for pulling out of Afghanistan on September 11 (why in the world pick that date?) and then the American embassy is forced to close up shop weeks before the deadline when the Taliban capture Kabul. The good news is that Biden will punish the Taliban by not inviting them to next year's Paris Climate summit.
  7. He seems almost too good to be true, except that he is. "Your rash doing all right?"
  8. I have to think things would have been different if the Bills had the sense to start Gibran Hamdan, the best Pakistani QB in NFL history, back in 2008.
  9. In January, Congress passed a $1.9 trillion stimulus to fill a $600 billion hole in GDP. Not only did the bill stimulate demand, but it extended enhanced unemployment benefits which have encouraged people to stay home rather than go back to work. So they simultaneously goosed demand and restricted supply. Not surprisingly, we're getting inflation. And the chuckleheads at the Federal Reserve have been pouring gas on the fire. Inflation is already much higher than they expected, and they continue to print money to buy treasury bonds and mortgage backed securities and continue to keep short term interest rates at 0%. There are no grownups making economic policy in Washington right now. We're all paying the price, literally.
  10. Biden nearly scotched the infrastructure deal just a few hours after all parties agreed to it by tying it to the budget reconciliation bill. Then the next day he had to walk that back. That was a very Trump-like maneuver. It pointlessly complicated matters, and it accomplished nothing. There must be something in the White House water that makes its occupants stupid.
  11. He's bound to regress a little. Even the best qb's don't play at an MVP level every year. However, in his career, he'll have at least a few more years like the last one. If he doesn't regress and he plays every year like he did last year, he'll be in the running to be among the best of all time.
  12. In 1991, the Bills beat the Oakland Raiders 51-3 in the AFC Championship Game. That was my single best moment as a Bills' fan.
  13. Hopefully it was a shock to the system like the Cardinals' game was a shock to the system.
  14. I thought that Milano played pretty well. Probably not well enough to give him a game ball. Defense needs to step it up.
  15. Our constitutional system held up remarkably well, but the forces that elected Trump are not going away. There's an ever widening gap between regular people and the elites. It manifests itself in big ways - in economic ways such as ever increasing inequality in wealth and income. And in smaller stupider cultural ways - one of Speaker Pelosi's first moves after the Democrats retained control of the House was to ban the use of gender specific pronouns. Or the insistence on calling Hispanics "LatinX." The so called "elites" are increasingly out of touch. The conditions that allowed Trump to flourish and get elected were brought about by mismanagement of the elites. If Biden doesn't manage to close that gap, and hopefully he's the right man for the job, there's going to be another populist in four years; a smoother, more plausible version of Trump. He could be on the right, or he could be on the left, or maybe both. But he's coming.
  16. It's SCIENCE! The same science that apparently told him he should keep the stadium closed during the season, but now that case levels are at unprecedented highs around the country, tells him its OK to open. If it's OK to open now, it was OK to be open during the regular season. The next time the governor starts waving the banner of science, people should throw it right back in his face, which is what this petition is all about. Or maybe the governor has worked out a deal with COVID not to spread during football games.
  17. Or we could meet them in the Superbowl on February 7. 🤣
  18. It's way too early to say, but due to his mobility issues, I'm not sure Kelly would have thrived so much in the modern era, but with his arm and his accuracy this year, Allen would have thrived 30 years ago. Both QB's have that intangible will to win that makes quarterbacks great. Let's just hope that Allen doesn't turn back into a pumpkin.
  19. "Here's to the Winners." It's not great Sinatra, except, of course, that all Sinatra is great. And the Sinatra he should avoid is this song.
  20. The regular season won't be complete unless the Bills kick the living !#$% out of New England. 62-3.
