You could very well be right, no doubt. IMO Jackson does many things at a high or really high level including plays zone coverage, triggering from zone, press and bail, read and reacts, correctly chooses when to drop coverage naturally while showing route/pattern recognition, is instinctual and has an innate feel for the play as it develops, has situational and field awareness in addition to anticipation skill and high football IQ, trail technique, on field reaction speed, contests the catch point, ability to play on the big stage, his catch radius is good and his ability to deflect passes with one hand when he cant get two on it is all high level, or really high level and has elite eye discipline from zone coverage and elite hands and ball skills. All these things are on the Iowa St., Penn St., Mich St., Minnesota, Ohio St., Wisconsin, and Boston College tape. He has his warts for sure, and I wouldnt play him in the slot, or in a man based coverage system. I could see Hughes going before him, even though their 40 times are fairly even, Hughes has go get it speed IMO for instance, and has the ability to play pure man and the slot. Their combine numbers go tit for tat... Hughes is smaller with smaller hands and shorter arms (not that Jacksons arm length is stellar) Whats you flavor is what it comes down to the two of them for me, bigger zone ballhawk or shorter more diverse corner ?

Re: Davenport, I think the Colts in a trade down (which you dont have happening, obviously and Smith is a great pick for them) would target him and I wouldnt sleep on him at 6 either as their pass rush is awful, Henry Anderson and M. Hunt at LE??. For me their grade is about identical with Davenport being more of a comfortable projection at a premium position. I think the 9ers are darkhorse for him as well, hard to argue with the Nelson pick, great value and makes sense, but Arik Armstead is out of position and I think on the trade block, he just doesnt fit their new D. Tough call with the 9ers as well. It'll will be interesting to see how the league views him. Jackson certainly is scheme specific (zone) and IMO a perimeter CB or FS position change only. He is not good in the slot and should always have his eyes on the play in front of him. Long speed and toughness are fair points, Jackson fits the Seattle D very well, his spatial awareness, route recognition and eye discipline coupled with his ability to high point, attack and make the play on the ball is special from zone coverage. Hughes is talented and I could easily see him going in the first round, Seattle's traditional height preferences oddly seem to be going out the door lately and pick like Hughes could signal a change in coverage philosophy, making that an interesting pick as their current CB's seem to be shorter than they have been historically collectively at this point in time. Quality work again Bandito, makes sense IMO throughout. Seattle picking Hughes and Davenport dropping into the 20s were the only things that seemed off to me (in a minor way). Just wondering what you thought of Josh Jackson and why Hughes over him to Seattle at corner? Landing Darnold a 5 for that deal would Great in my book!!

The tackles this year IMO have a lot of question marks and only McGlinchey seems to be the most consistent on/off the field and throughout the process. I do agree that their is likely going to be more than one off the board on Thursday (very nice to say indeed) night, but I think that'll be a positional value/need issue forcing them up the board. Williams or Miller would be my guess, I have been high on Miller but cooled off on him and Williams would have been a top 10-20 pick at this time last year, but given his injury and play this year along with his future position in the NFL, he's a risky projection IMO as a 1st rounder. I could see a team projecting them as 1st year starters and taking a chance at the end of the round, but I would be surprised if anyone other than McGlinchey went before pick 20 and I think he's more likely than not to slip a little as well.

Im still not top 50 on Chubb or Bad Mata’afa, but Miller maybe close, I’m doing positional rankings now, big board after, should have a top 100 next time.

I do seriously think the Giants would be able to significantly help their team and overall roster by trading with the Bills more so than anyone else, especially given the scheme shift and lack of talent still that fits the D and offensive line. IMO the "not getting a premium talent" or drop off in talent arguement is flawed, Davenports ceiling is higher than Chubbs IMO, Nelson alone is not greater than getting say McGlinchey and Wynn. Thants not even taking into account the 2nd and 3rd rounders for instance.

I thought Big Ben was the #1 QB in that draft, way cleaner coming out (your right, accomplished as well) than Allen is and its not even close. The small school thing is the reason he didnt go #1 IMO (then and now).

Chubb at #2 doesnt make much sense, trading a 43DE to draft one for a 34D? He could transition, but there are more natural fits and that is a projection. Adding Jerry Hughes is not ideal (especially contractually) schematically, but has 34 experience and would give them depth as an edge rusher, or options. Shaq L. would be a better fit as a SAM backer for them... Trading down to 12 and 22 (plus) and taking Harold Landry (34WOLB) at 12 or McGlinchey (RT) then, McGlinchey(RT)/I.Wynn(LG)/Guice(RB)/Michel(RB)/Jackson(CB)/Hughes(CB)/Evans(LB) at 22 would go a long way to helping them "win now" and in the future. Adding Shaq Lawson to play SAM backer would fit this mold as well.

Some quick numbers I did earlier in a different thread, biggest sticking point IMO is the value assigned to future picks. Incarceratedbob Bills proposed trade to Giants is “as is”. As is... J. Johnson trade chart: Giants 2600 pts, Bills 2615 pts, plus a 2019 2nd round as a sweetner (265 points estimate, as 1st pick in 3rd round value) roughly 2880 pts total. Personally I think given the Jets trade (34% increase/23rd pick in draftvalue) it will take a little more to seal the deal. 11% increase? Ideal for Buffalo, but unlikely IMO from the Giants. 280 pts is 63rd/64th pick value. Could hold still and see if the Giants bite. Probably need to be more like this... J. Johnson trade value chart: Giants 2600 pts, Bills #12, #22, #53, #56, #65 (pts) and 2019 2nd round pick (265 estimate again) is 3220 pts total and an 24% increase... Still might not be enough, 620 pts is the 30th pick, still 140 pts off the Jets trade value which is about the value of the 90th pick. This is where I would hold firm, regardless. Equivalent of #2 for 2-1sts, 2-nds and a 2-3rds. Add pick 96 (116pts) and its still only a 28% increase in value, about the 24th pick in the draft. Thats pick #2 for the equivalent of 2-1sts, 2-2nds and 3-3rds. As is... Rich Hill trade chart: Giants 717.17 pts, Bills 861.43 pts (2019 2nd rounder estimate value 2018 65th pick (rd3/pick1) 77.95pts), 144.26 pt difference (roughly the 41st pick (rd2/pick 9)) and an 20% increase. Probably need to be more like this.... R. Hill trade chart: Giants 717.17 pts, Bills #12, #22, #53, #56, and 2019 2nd round (estimate value 77.95pts) for a total of 881.75 pts, 164.58 pts increase, 23% increase or the 36th pick (rd2/pick 4) value. This is where I would hold firm, regardless. Equivalent of #2 for 2-1sts, 2-nds and a 3rd. Add pick 65 (77.95pts) and the value meets the Jets trade value (+34%) roughly the 23rd pick in the draft. Thats pick #2 for the equivalent of 2-1sts, 2-2nds and 2-3rds. Hopefully they (Giants) use the R. Hill trade chart and value the 2019 2nd round pick similarly to me... Either way, I dont see the Giants not countering higher at least the 56th pick in addition.

I dont see the Cardinals doing it either, but you never know, the Bears paid a ridiculous price to move up 1 spot last year. The need for a QB makes some GM's do crazy things. Maybe the Bronco's fall in love with 2 guys and pay the price to move up to #2, who knows with the draft, maybe the Giants can get Nelson, Chubb or Barkley at 5 and pick some extra assets and are good with that, better than moving down to 12 in their eyes possibly.

Cheap it will not be, but some of these trade offers Im seeing arent realistic given the Jets trade, the Giants will leverage that increase in value, to what point I dont know, but I cant see them saying "Ok, the Colts got a 34% return for the 3rd pick to move down to 6+, we're good taking a 11% return to move 12+." The Bills do hold some cards. We very well may have the best offer, than its up to them, however, if the offer isnt good enough, its still up to them and they could just say its not good enough, we will take whomever. I do think there can be some middle ground that would be palatable for both teams, I hope for the Bills there is and someone like the Cardinals dont come knocking out of the blue.

They did clearly overpay and that was just to move up from 6 to 3, but they did not pay too much over the going rate for a QB in the top 5 which if I remember correctly is about a 30% increase, they paid a 34% increase. Your right, not many teams can match what the Bills have to offer, but the Giants are not going to take pennies on the dollar, the market was set by the Jets trade. The Giants dont have to move down, they may take slightly less, but it would be bad business to take significantly less than market value. The Giants know the Bills have more ammo than everyone else besides the Browns and will squeeze them for as close to market value as possible, they are not going to give them a discount. It'll be up to the Bills to come up with a price point that they are comfortable with and hold firm and try to get the Giants to bite IMO.
