  1. So its Marrone vs a cancer patient for Jaguars O-line coaching job. If he hadn't left Buffalo the way that he did I'd feel bad for him.
  2. Murray will be 27 in Feb and has been a featured back for 4 years now (multiple games going back to 2011 with over 30 carries). Unfortunately, I don't think he has 3 or 4 good seasons left in him to warrant anymore than $4MM/yr. If he's smart, he'll go elsewhere and try and get as much upfront as possible.
  3. Thanks for summing this all up. Everything happened too fast for an old seaman like me. In fact, I hadn't even heard about this sleepover in FLA and watching the Pats game together. Pretty neat. It seems like now, the Schwartz situation is in the forefront. And I agree with other posters who say that this doesn't feel like the last 10 years, as far as the coaching carousel goes. It feels like we're taking a full step in the right direction.
  4. one of the best run blockers available.
  5. Good job. I think the clock might be wrong though. It says that these posts are happening at 2:53AM
  6. He's CJ Spiller, the Drive Killer. NegativeNegativeNegativeNegativeNegativeNegativeNegativePositiveNegativeNegativeNegative I think he likes to fancy himself as a QB, where he'd rather just run outside and out of bounds than take the hit. He has the speed and skill, but not the heart and vision. He still has some value, but maybe in the $3MM range as a utility player. Somebody will overpay for him, despite his glaring limitations, and be disappointed.
  7. Buffalo Bills Jim Schwartz +110 Frank Reich +110 Mary Eggers -225
  8. Strange...not even a mention?
  9. Look at the difference in Wade vs Marrone Jauron Mularkey. It's night and day when it comes to their attitude and demeanor. You could probably make an argument for either side for Chan, but I'd personally put him in the positive bucket.
  10. Just gonna say that. Somewhere, someone is saying "9-7 with the Bills. Dude can coach. Period."
  11. He was quoted as saying "...and get rid of those 3 old white dudes that are always saying its too cold in here".
  12. They need someone to size everybody up for their rings
  13. Love it. "He's just another guy"
  14. I want to hear the new coach come in and say that he's gonna run Sammy until he pukes.
  15. We should have tried this with James Hardy
  16. Is there a precedent for this type of behavior from other coaches around the league? I can't recall a situation where a coach left on his own accord, then bad mouthed his former team, and then looks for a job. Saying anything to Polian on his way out the door, he had to know that it would leak to the media in a matter of days, so why say anything? Ego? Somebody is going to hire him. Similar to a player who has issues, there is a buyer out there somewhere. But he'll be on a short leash due to all of this turmoil, which doesn't really suit his personality. As TO once said, get your popcorn ready!
  17. My prediction is that he'll end up getting hired for a couple of years and then fired because of the same issues that we've had with him. His gametime decisions are questionable and so are his personnel decisions (Hackett, Caveman, Urbik, etc). His attitude is where the desire to have him as a coach comes from, but as we know, that can also be a negative in this media hyped, PC world.
  18. Not a surprised that Gase and Bevell are favorites on this board over Jackson. Did Gase work wonders with Manning? Really? Manning might be the last player in NFL history that needs to be "coached up" Bevell? Flavor of the month. Farve was kind of good without him don't you think? Also, he didn't discover Russell Wilson, thank you. Wilson carried himself and played like a 10 year vet when he walked into training camp his first year. Look it up. Jackson is tough, has leadership, is innovative, and maximizes his players performance everywhere he goes. I much prefer him. Jackson's candidacy reminds me a bit of Arians before he was hired by the Cardinals. He appears to be able to hold players accountable and can command a team, something some of these other candidates...well... I'd be shocked if they were able to do. Just my 2 cents. Good post! And likening him to Arians is promising. He was my favorite last time we were looking for a coach and he's done well with the Cards.
  19. I'm back to hating Bill Polian now
  20. The guaranteed positives of leaving ($4MM plus whatever his next contract is) outweigh the potential negatives (tanking next season and getting fired) of staying. He's selling while his stock is high, and I can't fault him for that. But I still hope he fails miserably because I'm a prick.
  21. Hats keep the bugs off of your head. Not a hard concept to grasp...
