The Thread was started in the first quarter when Cincy was stopped the first two drives vs. the Bills being walked over & down 14-0. Cincy's defense should be commended as it could have been 14-0 KC. They also had the 3 & out of the game just prior to half after the Burrow interception and 1st & ten at Cincy 39. They don't stop them there & the game would have been over. Oh & started the second half that way. Now give Cincy credit those two stops changed the game as their offense scored 10 points. Compare that to last week when the Bills too got the ball with two munutes left in the first half and the kickoff to start the third. As bad as Buffalo had played, if the offence stepped up and some better coaching and calls it could have been 17-17 or 21-17 and a new game./ And he's the defensive genius who f'd up 13 seconds & OT.

Hey it was a tough game, decided on the last play, but quite obvious what team was prepared to play the Bengals and which team last week was not. Give Cincy credit they played well, but lost. KC too did not play a perfect game, but their defence actually created pressure and the DB's and Safeties actually had their eyes on the ball when defending receivers. And while KC couldn't run the ball the offense knew what to do and took short passes (still not sure why Allen couldn't run). Night & day as opposed to the Bills.

Yep blame Dorsey, let McD skate again. Blame the defense on Frazier.

Bengals will be the team to beat for years to come
Billsfan1972 replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're not allowed to say such stuff. Now it was the Bills were beat by a better team and forget about the coaching. Last month when the Bills were just scraping by it was no big deal because a win is a win. Some people want to have it both ways especially when it comes to McD. I still believe the Bills were the best team. -

And the Bills have a defensive minded coach and you got to think the defense has peaked. The offense that's solely on Josh Allen. Is there any indication that we can give McDermott any credit for the offensive performance of this team? If that's the best you can do on defense it doesn't bode well. -
Again I blame it solely on the coaching. See below From The Ringer On Sunday, the Bengals had to start three backups who essentially hadn’t played all season: at right tackle, Hakeem Adeniji, the player whose performance at right guard in last year’s Super Bowl probably did more than anyone’s to win the Rams a title; at left tackle, Jackson Carman, the player who was benched at right guard last year to allow Adeniji to fall apart in the postseason; and at right guard, Max Scharping, who was cut during the preseason by the 3-13-1 Texans because he couldn’t find a role on their offensive line. None of these three players had meaningful roles with the Bengals through the first four months of the regular season, and their average Pro Football Focus grade was 48.7 (out of 100). They should have been toast against the Bills. Instead, Cincinnati’s makeshift line dominated against the Bills. Burrow was sacked only once, for a loss of 2 yards. The Bengals ran for 172 yards—more than in 16 of their 17 previous games this season—with Joe Mixon having his second 100-yard game of the season. Look at the massive hole opened up for Mixon on this run, ending with Bills linebacker Tremaine Edmunds getting dumped into the snowy sideline. I don’t quite understand how this happened. There’s no evidence in the careers of Adeniji, Carman, or Scharping to suggest any one of them could be competent NFL players—let alone all three of them at the same time—and we’d seen how disastrous poor line play could be to this exact Bengals team.

He was not as good last year, nor was the team. Really that's a reach. But we're all hurting right now. -

It was pathetic, but they had the ball with 2 minutes left before half down only 17-7 and coming off the TD. That drive and how that and the first drive of the second half ended was all on coaching. The team was not ready. -

Without a QB. The last 3 years is more Allen then McD. The walking doormat was usually 7-9 to 9-7 with no QBs. -

Of course when playing 8 yards off the line 2 seconds is plenty, but their TE was targeted more then Knox and Chase was uncovered for a TD. The two deep shots were then called PI's too. -

13 seconds was the worst and how anyone can debate that I don't understand. Yesterday was an embarrassing performance by the Coaching staff. Ill prepared and completely lost out there. I will repeat again as bad as that first quarter was, they did make it 14-7 and then "held🤣" Cincy to a fg. The Bills were first down @ the Cincy 41 with a 1:00 to go and should have minimum got a FG and then imploded. Ball to start the second half and again first and goal and three pathetic play calls. Could have been 21-17 or 17-17, stead still 17-10 and needed one 3 and out. No it was just a lousy game. 13 seconds ripped my heart out. -
Actually he did and both times the Bills were called for pass interference. Yesterday was a garbage game exacerbated by putrid coaching. There wasn't a single play call where you could say "Boy the coach made a great call there". The team came out flat and when they needed a play or to make the right call they failed miserably. Cincy punted 1X all game (they would have gone for it on 4th & 1 the other time).

Well I'd say the Bills would win much more with Allen as the QB, then McD without Allen. Seen the same with Brady & Belichek (and Brady is 45). -
Wait, but I was told all year that the Bills had one of the best Defences in the NFL and were ranked 4th DVOA and at the top all year long. Now we know there were injuries and that accepted, but now after one game we are finally seeing how bad the D is? Everyone saying anything earlier this year was shouted down. Now it is about talent and coaching again getting a pass. Again I repeat 2 drives January 2, nothing learnt and then the first two drives yesterday and the same result. Cincy punted once the first half yesterday and once on 4th & 1 from midfield. Colossal coaching failure.
-
And again let the coaches off the hook. Baltimore almost beat Cincy without Lamar. Are they more talented on offense? They sure looked it moving the ball. Are the Bills so bad on Defense that Cincy set a record for Playoff first downs? Really two drives January 2 and first two drives yesterday and absolutely no Defense is just they are so much more talented?

Allen or McD, make a choice. Without Allen this is a 5-6 win team. -
Yep we're all coming out of the woodwork.... How many pointed to that game months ago and said that something was wrong, only to be shouted down by the "Pro McD" crowd? Do a search and as I've said there were many saying those catchphrases "Just Win" "Winning in the NFL is tough" "We have targets on our backs and teams take their best shots", "13-3" anytime the GB and any game after the bye came up......
-
No it was the Coaches. Cincy, with a bad OL, had 3 out and still dominated. After two drives January 2, the Bills come out and allow 2 TD drives yesterday at home. 14-7 and just before half as bad as everything was going the script easily could have been flipped, but terrible coaching & play calling. First & goal to start the second half and again three dud plays. Cincy did not steamroll Balt two weeks in a row at home (and Huntley moved the ball). TB dominated them for a half too. If it makes you feel better that Cincy talentwise is superior, go ahead, I disagree.

Remember he took a 7-9 team (they threw the last game the prior year) to 9-7 and the playoffs his first year. Oh & he started Nathan Peterman vs. SD (and had him the starter the following year too). An offensive genious (savant).
