Ray Rice - desperate or noble?
Thrivefourfive replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's fine. And if Baltimore cut him after that season, his agent would have sold another team on his services. I believe when he says injuries are why is had a bad season. But the video is why that was his last season. -
10 Reasons Why Tyrod will have a great year

I known Taylor can do it this year. I just known it!! -

If there was no video, he'd be on an NFL roster. -
Espy's - worst network concept ever
Thrivefourfive replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks interesting. I have a decent handle on daily sports, but I really do flip past the ESPY's like I have a tick or something. I honestly think it's the professional athletes that turn me away. They are getting paid by the networks, and they are beyond spoiled. It's unimaginable for 99% of the people watching the awards show, to realize how crazily well taken care of these athletes really are. You know where I get my sports inspirations - Bud Greespan Olympic stories. Any story, any time. Get your eyes prepared for salty discharge. And ESPN runs some fantastic shorts on the archive. Many thanks to ESPN for their 30 minute shows. -
Aaron Williams Wants Fred Jackson Back; Do you?
Thrivefourfive replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NO! What is this, another Juice and AC situations. I mean, who are the brass listening to these claims ..? Hopefully none. If A Williams wants to stake his claim in FJAX to receive and run with signicant playing time this year that leads to a playoff spot, then great. If any forum members want to support that dream; then you all are hitting on 17. Chances are, it's not going to happen. And let's not confuse success with 1) Clubhouse presence. He can be a coach if that's the case. Not a roster spot at RB. 2) Being serviceable in already eliminated, no-meaning games. If Fred plays good in these games so F'n what?! -
Espy's - worst network concept ever
Thrivefourfive replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't mind you saying it, OP. There was only one good year (Valvano 1993). All the rest of the so called big moments where very contrived, against what Jimmy V was, and later, has become. Frankly, I hate when the Espy's are on, and I struggle when I stumble upon them...about as much as I do when the good-for-nothing's lame X games are on. Automatic...find me something else to watch. Watch the right players. Not every match is as you speak of. -
What is Gilmore actually worth to the Bills....
Thrivefourfive replied to billrooter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the rub with Rex always stroking his players' ego. It's just not wise to do in a contract year. -
Tyrod made the right read, can you?

and Hogan goes out of bounds one yard short of the first down. That's what losers do.. -
How the Ravens went from SB winner to afterthought
Thrivefourfive replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills had shown any ability to development a QB, let alone any talent, over the past five years, I might stick with Taylor over an old Carson Palmer. But they haven't, so I would take an old QB who can play, right now, over a young QB who needs to progress. -
How the Ravens went from SB winner to afterthought
Thrivefourfive replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is that a joke? Flacco will play this entire regular season at 31 years old. Taylor won't be able to play at a high level when he's 31. He's Michael Vick, except worse. Much worse. Flacco's style will allow him to play until he's 40, if he chooses to stay in shape. He's arm is better than any elite QB we've seen since John Elway. How long did Elway play for, after the years of abuse because he was a scrambler? I'll take the future over the future, if the future has a ring (that he earned btw), two digit playoff wins!, and is entering he's prime. -

Who wouldn't trade Taylor for Flacco right now? Flacco to Watkins seems like a league changer. -
Try being married to that women. As my girlfriend, she rooted for Baltimore in a pro San Francisco household...my best frien'ds annual Super Bowl party. I had to calm her ass down real quick, and she was acting dumb and claiming she was gonna root for whoever she wanted to. A Bears fan, not a Ravens fan at all. What did Chris Rock say about uncle Juice... I wouldn't have done it, but I understand.

Did anybody catch this last night? I haven't watched the live broadcast of this game since 1991 when I was 13 years old. Al Michaels nailed it with his last thought before kickoff...the key to the Bills victory was Thurman. Too bad Kelly didn't realize this, as Thomas only got 21 touches. It should have been a 30 carry 200 yard game for him. The Bills started off shaky on defense, but after the first two possessions for the Giants, who probably should've gotten more than 3 points, the Bills gained all the momentum and commanded a 10-3 lead. At that point, Andre Reed dropped three straight passes, one in 3rd & 1. Forget the safety that made it 12-3. The Bills we absolutely marching out to a 17-3 lead. Again, Micahels realized that that type of score would have made it virtually impossible for the Giants to come back from. At 17-3, the Giants' offense would have abandoned the run, amd clock control, and the Bills pass rush would have knocked Hostetler out of the game. The Bills' offense would have piled on, and a 37-10 blowout was right there for the taking. As bad as Kelly's play calling and play got with a 12-3 lead, Reed's drops ruined the game for Buffalo. He was praised for his toughness over the middle, but simply didn't want to get hit anymore in the biggest game in franchise history. Tough pill to swallow. After the drops, the Giants scored a TD to make it 12-10 just before the half, and probably broke the backs, and hearts, of the Bills. The game was lost by the Bills in the first half, and won by the Giants in the second half. I apologize for bringing up this game again, but it was interesting to see the original broadcast for the first time in my adult life.

Norwood Jersey for Old Dad?
Thrivefourfive replied to Norwood for Wall of Fame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This brings up an idea.... Bills should have a Scott Norwood jersey shirt game vs the Jets. Everyone in the stadium would be wearing the #11 Norwood jersey. Talk about huge national recognition for a first class town. Lift Scotty up, as many times as humanly possible. -
Raiders looking to move to Las Vegas?
Thrivefourfive replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You guys have been there, right? NFL players in Las Vegas will be a complete circus. But hey, do it right, and they should be able to party, legally for the most part. But I'm afraid, there will be an increase in crazy DUIs, and hard drug charges. There's just too much, ALL the time. City don't sleep, and neither will these football players. They play hard, and live hard. I know one thing, the Vegas ladies of the night will take full advantage of their opportunities with these athletes. -
Very true. For the show, everything has to stop after the murders though. It just gets too bizarre, especially when Juice speaks on camera. But before that, it's great stuff. The big problem with the show would be that you can't interview Uncle Juice at all. A Football Life is all about current interviews, unless the guy has passed, like Lyle Alzado.

Rex and RGIII together. Nothing could go wrong there. RGIII doesn't get it, and probably will never get it at this stage of his life. He thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, and he has an attitude problem. That's not a good formula for what he needs to become. He tore the Redskins locker room to pieces. Quarterbacks have that power. About his talent...he was considered a guy that would be pocket passer coming out of Baylor, not just a running quarterback. Now, Bryce Petty is a developmental project, out of the same system! Shanahan was right...he wanted Cousins, not Griffin. But he coached up the owner's favorite son and made the playoffs. Cousins lives.

Man, they do a good job on this show. Well directed, well produced, and well narrated. They can get a little cliche at times, but considering the crap that is on tv these days, this is a good show. What Bills player do you want to see the most, taking into account that you learn a lot about their childhood background and locker room personality? p.s. After watching the episode on Terrell Owens, I hope he never gets in the Hall. He just doesn't get it.
