  1. I agree with doing more. This thing has to play out. If I hear you, you think the most likely outcome for Sean and Beane is a SB Trophy? I’m all for believing in that. But if it doesn’t go that way, how’s it end? Both at the same time? I just can’t be made to believe McDermott won’t be the last man standing. Everything he’s done while in Buffalo has lead up to one of the most secure HC jobs in the entire league. He’s entrenched. Hope that’s not his only worth while “coaching tree” legacy (how to not get fired, ever).
  2. I just hope we understand that getting more B players on defense isn’t the answer. It’s not. B player loses to A player in the playoffs in crunch time. Pretty much every time. We’d have a better chance with two A players and a bunch of Cs and Bs scattered about. The two dudes get the sack, the interception, the forced fumble, etc. Wanna see what the B guys do in the biggest games? See the Bills last five playoff loses. For me it’s more of a coin flip, but I’ll side with because I like you. But we can’t imagine any scenario where McDermott is fired and Beane survives, right?
  3. But since McDermott isn’t going anywhere, like ever, because Josh wins so many games, Beane is the only one that can go. Realistically speaking.
  4. Yeah.. what’s McDermott’s contract?? Better be peanuts like in the old days.
  5. Welp, I’m convinced. A WR of this magnitude isn’t in our cards, considering what it costs. With how the offense has been built, we can’t justify that cost. Right now, we don’t need a WR to take up 40% of the loot on field. We don’t play that way. So we pick up guys who posses one or two of the skills we need AND we draft. A stud on a rookie deal is the best we’ll get.
  6. Cook is playing for the Bills this season if he signs a team friendly extension, or decides to risk it all and play out his current deal. I believe neither is happening. Cook wants more money, and to the Bills he’s not worth it, because he isn’t. Sad but true. So how’s his trade value? Because he’ll holdout. Who are his buyers? He’ll need a new contract. Who’s up for that in a trade deal. I wouldn’t say Seattle, but who knows.. Walker is always hurt. Cleveland? Chubb was fantastic but that’s over now right? Can’t stay healthy and the line has deteriorated. No QB. Would they like Cook? They could sell it to fans, right? He’s a young, emerging, gifted playmaker, and it can easily be argued that he’s on the rise. To the fans. Sales job for having to move Garrett. And you get a R1 & and a 2, and Cook. Just trying to figure out the options here. Cook in Cleveland.. He’ll get paid, but his career will tank. They’ll use him like a three down back and at the goal line. He isn’t build for that. Period. Josh gets smashed. Cook is protected. But we all saw Cook pound out tough yards and take a big step forward last season. I was stoked. But what a shame with what he’s doing on social media.. talkin’ out his ass. He’d have to 180 to play for the Bills next season, so what can we get for this guy?? They want things, and acted on it publicly. There’s a comparison.
  7. Since this is the top thread for a yet to be signed guy. Why do I know feel the sense of hmmmm for the first time this off season. The question raced through my mind: Is Beane telling us we already have what it takes, so we’re taking care of ours first, and that’s the #1 priority? I was kinda thinking that after KC we needed some shakeup on defense,, and then the Garrett news and I’m going.. hell yeah- Gimme him! Yet here we are signing everybody back.. hmmmmm. Just sayin’.
  8. I was glad yours was the first post. It needed to be said. But hopefully this money becomes incentive to turn it up a notch. What a dream of a contract for the young man. You just never know how these things are gonna go. See Elam. Couldn’t be happier for the success here.
  9. Love love love Bernard when playing. And I love keeping him. If that’s the money, fine! What do I care 🤣 What comes along with this is having to draft and sign guys that play his position. Don’t have to do that with the Queens and Wagners and whonot. It’s just… what it is. I’ll bite. He plays rather reckless, because of his size. Like Bob Sanders.
  10. Jerry Glanville wasn’t just talking’ about coaches
  11. 1 Case for Garrett. Bills would be crazy to not lean towards moves that win now. It’s a balancing act.. present day vs future of the club. But this is it.. it has been it for the past FIVE YEARS.. can’t let this guy slip out without a ring. Just need to die trying
  12. Locker room cancer tendencies. I don’t need to see anymore. And I loved it when we were rolling a few years back. So I don’t say it lightly.
  13. So we get Metcalf and trade him and other things for Garrett
  14. Oh great… so he’s going to New England.
  15. I think that money waves in front of Coleman as well. Let’s lace it, after his rookie season, Shakir’s contract is looking fat for KC0 right now. So Beane’s saying, Hey! Be a Key. Time to put in the work and that money is there for ya.
  16. Can I be honest. I never know when these players are up for extensions like this. Didn’t catch much headlines here..? I know what Cook is up to, that’s for sure. We talk a lot about having to decide on Rousseau. Who else is next? Benford and Bernard.. what’s their situation. Last year so we extend or they’re playing for a contract? And we’re talking about Allen getting paid again.. I swear I thought he just did?! 🤣 Oh, locking up Shakir. I have NO problem doing that and trusting the signing was good for both sides. Wanting some burst out of KS10 this up comer Reed walked to practice up hill both ways
  17. I’m struggling with the 1980 team because of Ferguson’s health. Can’t excuse that. And their playoff run. I can’t say 88 because they were outclassed by the Bengals who lost to San Francisco. The 2024 team was right they at the end of the conference championship game. The 2021 team had a defense.. until it was time to use it 👎 This team was a lot like the 89 team to me. I like them both, a lot. I realize how and when the team exited is hugely important, since results speak for themselves, and we’re basically cornered by “results” anyways (non-SB team). What team(s) were better than a Super Bowl team??
  18. Difficult to pick a point in a season and say that’s the best season the team had. The 2022 team wasn’t going anywhere after the dust settled.
  19. I’m not allergic to positivity 😂 This was it right?! Heartbreaker in the AFCCG. We lost two other conference title games and one AFL merger title game ((to the…. 🤬)) where we didn’t have much of a chance at all in any of them.. the 1988 Bengals were far superior and ready. On paper, 2024, this is it. I think this team was better than 2021 and 1989 (man I thought the 89 team woulda rep’d well in the Super Bowl pre SB losing scar tissue. They were just the right amount of crazy for me). What ya got?! Who’s theee best of the best non-SB Bills teams in the SB era to you?
  20. Alls I know is Charger fans think he’s a sissy.
  21. If the WR draft class is being written off, gimme the gem or two in rounds 4-6. One thing that’s weird. We’ve been clamoring for a stud WR, but Beane keeps filling the room with playable options who could go either way, bust or pleasantly surprised like Mack. Beane’s philosophy is to get a guy who will be made better with the Bills and JA17. Maybe if we played in a dome, we’d see a Beane WR take two steps forward, instead of the one step back.. Coleman, Samuel, Cooper, the scrubs like MVS. Or, half a step forward- Shakir two years ago, negated by his one step back in 2024, giving us.. a guy,,, a good guy, but not THE guy. There are a couple things that we have working against us for WRs to overcome: 1. weather, and 2. the current offensive philosophy and personnel. Our weather can take away two or three games of WR production (road games too). Our run heavy, JA17 red zone running, everybody eats, too many WRs that don’t do anything special creates this “everybody eats” garbage. I’d like a big dog to be a big threat in the redzone and on the field when it matters most, affecting defensive scheming. I don’t know who the defenses are worried about with our WRs. Yeah I do: NOBODY. Not to say that our offense wasn’t getting the job done. They rolled. But add the WR we all should want, and it’s another level of execution. Defenses would be truly concerned—unlike how the Chiefs look at us and scheme us up like a bunch of everybody eats passing catchers. -Eat this! Pressure.. JA17 doing it himself. Chiefs are doing what the Pistons did to Jordan. Make Jordan do everything by taking your B+ players and suffocating the Bills B players, isolate the A+ player. Doing this in football is more nuanced and our guy is the QB thank god. The Bills had an OLine and a great RB to counter that, but didn’t do enough. Add WR to that mix, come on.. we need that! The Ravens need that. The Chefs are still it, and when that Spags goes away, and takes all his defense mastery against the Bills and Ravens with him,,, or we add something that our team can beat his team with, no excuses. There’s one piece we’re missing. We can’t do it consistently with B players against B+ defenders. Allen A+ and Cook A isn’t brought. Bottom line. And a bunch of B WRs is, quietly frankly, unbecoming at this stage in our ascent. What we have isn’t it. Higgins makes us better—weigh the cost. A dude like Nabers. Oh my god this would be the best offense in the league bar none. I know he’s a blue chipper and future All Pro, but whatever, we need one. This OP is depressing me. i believe our philology is that our player will make a play. I want our philology to be more pre snap dangerous. Defenses see Coleman and they know that when/if the ball is thrown, which it hardly is, they need to make a play on him. But defenses don’t look at Coleman and think, “Oh s’!” we need to rotate this and move that to cover this.. because he's a problem, and now we need to allocate resources post snap to that guy, which leaves COOK with space… wow. That be something. So are we good at WR with our guys beating there guy one-one-one? Hell no! This philosophy will definitely “run it back” in the results column too. It’s a white flag and I hate it.
  22. I am too. He nailed everything there late. If he’d just stop missing the easy one, we can live with that.
  23. If we get this, our LBs will be making a lot of tackles, so better back them up since some are undersized and can’t take that type of beating.
  24. Bing again. Judging how we “build a defense” by how much capital we spend or invest on it is like spouting off about how great spaghetti is while you’re eating cereal. It’s got no code. Our problem is we can’t spot talent. And u think that’s a bad thing.
