Sure. Then we fire McD, he goes to KC for a reunion with Andy and then we can’t get past Sean and the Chiefs. Could you imagine?!?

His point has some validity and I don’t think it’s an overreaction. When the majority of fans have the correct perception during the game but the coaching staff doesn’t, be it offensively or defensively, something is a problem. Did Brady succeed during his first fully fledged year? Yes. No question. Did Brady have some head scratching moments in back to back biggest games of the season? You betcha. Does Brady have an offense in the top of the league without Josh? No. Sure it’s got nothing to do with him how he landed who he’s coaching but you have one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in all of football outside of Lamar. Not to bang a repeated drum but you give the majority of OC’s the role he had and they’re churning out yards. A lot of coaches could do better than what we saw in the divisional and AFCC is all.

John Harbaugh’s jealous!

I take the approach Siriani did and get rid of Brady. He won’t but he should. Grubb in Seattle was one and done but had no real ties to McDonald and replaced him with Klint Kubiak who could have been someone to look at? I may have been in the minority but I was hoping Brady would get a HC. Wasn’t bothered by him staying as continuity for a unit is an absolute plus. The only real positive with Brady was the willingness to play complimentary football. It worked as the rushing efficiency and production went up and as a result reduced the turnovers. But like many have alluded to since the transition to him, it’s pretty easy of a job when you have Allen as your quarterback. Siriani, for all the complaints, you can’t hate his decision to clean house on the defense and being in Fangio. It’s paid dividends for them. Almost as beneficial to the team as the Saquon signing.

Good shout. He wasn’t great this season but he’s shown the be of quality the years before. There’s a few decent options. Bynum Holland Moehrig Hufanga Hufanga would be the only hesitation to after imo and that’s solely due to injury history.

The position is already held by a William & Mary alum in DJ Mangas. Our HC is W&M as is our OC.

Jump to comparison and several of us posters have referenced the Eagles and their changes and success these last few years since yesterdays loss… They had a Super Bowl appearance which they should have won. Failed the next season by getting dumped in the wildcard round to the Bucs. They scrapped their OC and brought in Kellen Moore. Scrapped pretty much all their defensive staff but Fangio as DC was they key. They added: Saquon Barkley Zack Baun CJ Gardner-Johnson Oren Burks Mekhi Beckton They gave new deals to: AJ Brown DeVonta Smith Jordan Maliata Landon Dickerson Reed Blankenship During Hurts taking over their draftees in the first 3 rounds each year have been: 2021 DeVonta Smith Landon Dickerson Milton Williams 2022 Jordan Davis Cam Jurgens Nakobe Dean 2023 Jalen Carter & Nolan Smith none Tyler Steen & Sydney Brown 2024 Quinyon Mitchell Cooper DeJean Jalyx Hunt Out of those draft there’s very few who aren’t key contributors or essential rotational players to their team. We need to hit on the people who possess the elite traits and college production. Coaching is a problem. But so are the players on the field. Need to be better all around and make appropriate changes if/when necessary.

Hopefully the prospect’s notebook is bedazzled this time. It shows more effort and pride in taking notes.

Kurt Warner breaks down the 4th down. Allen error?
Sojourner replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hate saying it as they have our number again but the short yardage defense and the well executed blitzes were really the difference in this game. They made some great adjustments to what we gave them on top. -

Exactly. It’s on Josh 100% for his error but he wildly enough still made the improbable play to atone for that error. What’s harder? The throw Josh made with 3 Chiefs in his face or the catch that hits you right in the arms? -

On a crucial 4th down I’d like to have seen our best SP blocker back there in Johnson. Why he was split wide and on the LOS is still lost to me when our line had some rough spells on pass protection. The whole play was a disaster for such a crucial down. From the lining to Josh’s protection change, from a LG running to behind the RG to block one of the two guys he let walk in, to our RT not sliding left with everyone else, to our TE dropping it. Just rough to see. Still amazed our guy, given his protection error, still made the throw lol -
100% on the players offensively and defensively. I put ownership on the offense more as they really were our key to success all season other than an unreliable defense reliant on turnovers. Two plays in literally 3 snaps lost the game. The Kincaid drop and then 2 snaps later on 2nd & 9, three of our defenders are wiped out of a play by Ju-Ju Smith-Shuster. Insane. That’s all on players. You aren’t coached to drop a pass and you certainly aren’t coaching 3 guys to get negated by a 210lb WR at the LOS. Coaching was a let down but a lot of poor execution on the field on both sides of the ball is where we end up on a long and miserable flight back to Buffalo.

Vintage Pro Bowl John Butler! Hawaii here we come!!!

Very fair perspective. Could very well be. Like many things we’ll never know. Logically you’d like to think that a HC and a HC candidate could make a decision against something you struggled with the week before and we’re struggling and getting stopped on again. I just don’t see Reid and his guy Nagy (even though you know the plays are Reid’s decision finally) doing anything remotely similar. They’re running that play more than once just to set you up for something else. Plenty of opportunity to add a wrinkle in. Again, our obsession was ultimately our demise.
-
Yeah, I get that which is why I highlighted that too. But come on man… you’re talking about an OC that was in consideration for a HC job himself. he has to do better without being told.
-
cant disagree with most of what’s being said but the fact at the start of the presented argument where Colin puts the failure to convert short yardages on McD is weird. McD made the right decisions to go for it each and every time. Play calling put them in a bad position to be in where they had to go for that several times. Play calling and execution was the reason we didn’t convert. Can’t put that on McD. What I do put on McD is why he didn’t assert to Brady to stop going to it. Like dude said… Pivot away from it when it’s not working. Our obsession was our demise.

It’s all his fault! We brought the living curse back!

Sounds perfect. And for that reason, it won’t happen lol

Lol it was a joke dude. He’s not getting paid by the team still. But he was being paid by Jacksonville and Buffalo at the same time, why not a third team? 🥁

If Allen asks for a new staff he should get it.
Sojourner replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
It should be Terry telling the coaching staff. Not Josh. This is his last season. Now it’s always a year to year league but going to make acquisitions that you would think improve the roster in the staff’s mind. You either a) have continuity in the core staff and players like the Chiefs or b) you make changes in the staff and players you need to accentuate Super Bowl aspirations like Philadelphia. We have tried the option a. It hasn’t cut the mustard. You now go to option b like Philly did. All their additions to staff and roster is why they’re in the Super Bowl. Sure, drafting has something to do with it but the players who’ve shined the brightest this year, especially in the playoffs were added in some aspect be it this year or prior. AJ Brown & Darius Slay from prior. Saquon, CJGJ & Zack Baun this year. On top of that, they’ve absolutely knocked it out of the park with some of their picks. Especially the past 2 drafts. We don’t have the means to pay or bring in high end talent. I doubt we trade for it and the picks where the biggest necessity for immediate impact are made just haven’t cut it. The later rounds being fantastic can’t be an excuse any more. They need to make home run moves like Philly did this past draft and FA window. McD makes the Super Bowl or you move on. No if’s and’s or but’s. -
Who else loves rebuild years?!?

In terms of a throw for a first, Kincaid was way more open that Shakir as #10 is behind the LOS. If Josh steps into that throw it’s a routine catch. The play was made by Josh. The only other guy in the league probably making that throw was on the other sideline. Josh did his part. A catchable ball. There’s nothing else to it man, made up for his mistake if you will.

Overhaul the defense? It’s needed. That way too much time and investment to sink in again. Trade it for a pass rusher, a proven one in the league as that’s where we lost defensively last night. Groot was tragic. Assign the premium picks to Josh and the offense then add to defense where it’s needed. We are drafting a Corner or DE. 100%. I don’t blame them. They’re the biggest weaknesses last night defensively. The biggest problem I have with last night… Do you know who #9 is for the Chiefs? Ju-Ju Smith-Shuster. Do you know how many of our defenders got taken out of the play by Ju-Ju on the 2nd & 9 to essentially ice the game on the throw to Pacheco? THREE. By a 210lb WR… Nothing else needs to be said.
