Screen to one of your 2 slowest receivers on a game tying/leading drive on 3rd down. Big brain move. 4D chess.

Of course he panicked. He had a guy coming from his left, right and in front of him lol Even in that panic he dropped a pretty much perfect pass downfield, with no visibility in the middle of coverage to Kincaid who dropped it. He said in the postgame the check was good for the first look, they slid left and he immediately snapped it. Well they looped the blitz from the right and he had to get rid of it. Great disguise by Spags. Bad design by Brady having no RB and motioning Shakir into the backfield. Some of its on Josh but personnel and play design is on Brady for that. Josh actually made it work from what would probably be a 0.01% of a completion lol

McD has his faults and needs to answer some questions but that doesn’t fit the narrative for these people. This game wasn’t on McD. He had the balls to try and win the game. Our offense didn’t execute on two drives resulting in turnovers. If any coach needs to go, I’m honestly hoping it’s Brady. I’ve never seen a guy so stubborn to adapt throughout a game. Then again, why am I surprised? He’s not adapted play calling situationally for a whole season.

The defense and that of what McD has built needs to be heavily changed. No disagreement but when it comes to the absolute basis of rationality going into this game, we as fans knew what we had. They actually did everything people wanted. Make a couple of stops and get a turnover/s. They kept the Chiefs from running away at it to open the second half. Don’t understand why they can’t be given any credit.

Agree. They weren’t great by any means but we knew they weren’t going to be. Our defense stopped them in scoring territory and kept it to a FG. On top of that they shut them down in back to back drives to open the second half that kept us in the game. Don’t forget the fumble that was originally waved off due to Ed and his phantom offside but was later handed back to us by Pat in scoring territory. Im not giving McD a pass, so please don’t think that, im just being impartial to everything that unfolded, but the defense like you said did enough and wasn’t the main issue. A problem but not he main issue. We expected them to score and they gave up only 11 points in the second half with Kaiir “Leodis” Elam, Cole Bishop and Hamlin as the key cogs to that secondary. The errors fall on Brady and his selections. I can give him a pass for running the Josh shorts earlier. I can’t give it to him for doing it again FOUR times on one drive. The fourth time ended up costing us and not converting it due to a bad spot/call by the refs. There is no way any offensive coordinator should be going to that play that much let alone on one drive. Especially when the team caused huge problems for you running it previously. You will never see an OC worth his salt doing that. Many have said he’s just another guy riding the back of Josh Allen. Now I agree with them after that debacle. Any decent play caller wouldn’t be repeating that all day. They’d give them the same look and pull the rug. Not Joe Brady…

Weird, one of the few guys at work I’m friends with outside of it moved up here from Florida and is a Fish fan. He said after the 13 seconds that it wouldn’t surprise me if he turns into Dan Marino. Is the best of the bunch he was drafted with/around but never wins a Lombardi. I laughed. I regret that laugh after reading this thread. 😔

Call Jerry! ”Jerry… Brandon here. Remember that TE from Georgia you tried trading up for? We got him for you, half off!”
-
He choked. Oh wait… That was Josh. My bad.
-
Absolutely. Guy is team glue through and through, an essential.

Some weird definitions and agreements of choking.

Im with you man. Im not absolving them if any failures. They stunk up the joint. Badly. But we knew they weren’t going to be great last week. This week and even in a potential SB against Philly. All I read and agreed with was “we just need them to make a couple of stops” They did. A turnover, even if it was thanks to Mahomes, in scoring territory. 2 punts on back to back drives to start the second half. Sure they failed on stopping the final drive but dude, we all knew they wouldn’t lol it had to be Josh and Co. with the ball in hand or putting the Chiefs in a position where they were down 4+ in the final minute/s. Our offense failed on downs twice out of our final 3 drives because of some awful playcalling. We were struggling with the go to sneaks with Josh but Brady still went back to and essentially put it on the officials, who I will agree incorrectly spotted and called that. The second failed downs had some weird play design too but was a failure thanks to our pass catching TE dropping an absolute unreal throw. Offensive coaching was more at fault than what we knew we had with the defense before Benford even went down.

Bro. There was a handful of throws to start the game that should have been better but that was pretty much it. I saw a solid OLine all year get eaten alive in pass blocking 70% of the time. An OC who gave him no chance at audibles in those short yardages and continued forcing the issues. An OC who, after your RB was Cooking them up, stopped using him. skill positions who, and all season long, continued to get no separation motioning shakir in the backfield didn’t work all season but Brady continued A TE who dropped an absolute throw from the stars with the game on the line one offensive player on KC took THREE of our defenders out on that jet roll by Mahomes on the drive to ice the game Josh left a couple of plays on the field but the majority of this game’s failings fall on Joe Brady and the offensive coaching staff. Refs played their part with some horrific calls but it is what it is. We expected it. Defense was never going to be great but they made a stop to force a FG when the game could have “been put out of reach”. Offensive coaching was the difference. We kept running into a brick wall with the play calls. Reid & Co. designed plays to run around or over the wall….

I’ll tell you two who didn’t. Josh and Cook. Especially Cook. Gutted that TD isn’t going to be something anyone other than the majority of Bills fans remember. Truly a score for the ages.
-
I’d be fine with that. Ed you keep though given the recent contract and if you can pair him with a behemoth inside, a true NT, I think he can produce similar stats as 2023. AJ for the same contract reasons, he’s about average for a rotational rusher. Would like more but eh. That secondary needs work. Benford/Taron are the only locks. Rapp but the injuries are piling up with him like Milano. Of course Cook, he’s played amazing this year and that TD on 4th down?!? Well man. I’m absolutely gutted for him. That play would be on highlights for eternity if we won and made it to the Super Bowl.

Agreed. The refereeing was a problem but that wasn’t the absolute reason the game was lost. Offensively Brady has a lot of explaining to do. McD too but more so Brady in my opinion. They both made some questionable choices. Brady’s seemed absolutely boneheaded though. Again, the expression of going back to the well one too many times was in full effect. We literally drowned in that well due to our OC. There’s pretty much f—k all Josh can audible to when lined up in that formation lol Josh AND Jimbo were let down by coaching and their teammates.
-
FA is tough. I will say though, it’s time to move on from Hamlin. He’s not a problem with Rapp but he’s in and out of the lineup. Go pay Camryn Bynum, pair him with Rapp. If Rapp goes down you slide Bishop or Hamlin in provided he makes the 53 again. Corner is going to be a challenge. You’re gonna have to pay for quality and then restrict yourself elsewhere. A guy like Carlton Davis who’s a FA is coming off an injury for one but he’s not going to be truly effective with that paltry pass rush. I hate for it to be another repeat to a few seasons again, and it isn’t just to beat KC, we need to rework this whole defensive line. More often than not in crunch time, they’re not making the absolute essential plays you’d hope a SB aspiring team to make.

Need an absolute eater next to Ed so he can work more isolations. He has the talent, just not enough to be the monster you’d expect from a top 10 pick on the interior. Edge, I’m actually saddened by how little an impact Groot had. I was a huge advocate for signing him to an extension but honestly, I don’t even know if I would. Unless he plays lights out on this option for 2025, you let him walk. Need someone else out there. Would have liked to see them put Solomon out there a lot more if possible next season but I’ll understand if not. He lacks the prototypical size. CBs is an issue. I wouldn’t resign Douglas if I’m honest unless you’re upgrading the Safety position. Again lol. Wes you’re on the money. There’s no true downfield speed. Can’t rely on a 50/50 guy. Teams are just able to sit on everything underneath. The only time I saw that change was after Mack beat them on that deep seam. LBs? I’m absolutely fine with that group as long as they fix the defensive line. They can play very wel if the guys infront keep them clean.

They’re a good team. Can’t say anything else. When it comes to close games they win. They absolutely got the better share of all the calls during the game that put us behind the 8-ball but we still had a chance. That stubbornness to continue the short yardage with Josh was madness. They weren’t even faked out by us changing it up on them. Pure discipline on that front. That is the only credit I will give to the Chiefs. They shut our bread and butter, go-to, reliable play with 2 yards or less to convert. Brady needs to answer as to why they chose to drown in that well. im not giving McD a pass by any means but that unit played absolutely rough even before Benford went down. Bad game on defense entirely minus a handful of plays. Pass rush needs overhauled… Again. Hamlin played horrible as did Elam and Bishop. Bernard, Douglas and Milano were up and down. The only bright spot was Taron. Groot, I don’t even know where to begin. Dude was invisible.
