Seems like nobody really knows what Russia's endgame is, besides attack Ukraine in the next 48-72 hours. My guess is Putin thought he could simply bully everyone into doing what he wanted, he got more pushback than he bargained for but not enough to stop him. So now the Russians have to Go! because waiting only makes him look weaker, and gives the Ukrainians time to stockpile weapons (which we're sending them at a good clip) and train troops. The force Russia is sending in isn't big enough to take and hold the whole country, so they've got some kind of landgrab/partitioning scheme in their heads? I guess we'll find out. The army we invaded Iraq with wasn't nearly big enough to hold the whole country, but we tried to anyway. There was a lot of speculation that he would wait until the end of the Olympics and not step on Xi's little parade of chinese communist party feel-good propaganda, but the weather's good for tanks and APCs, and he gains nothing by waiting except more casualties. Good luck to the Ukrainians, I guess the moral of the story is if you don't want to be invaded, get nukes.

What needs to be done to get us here?
Coffeesforclosers replied to Awwufelloff's topic in The Stadium Wall
A elite DLmen. Pressures may be more beneficial over the course of a 17 game season, but I'd like to see the math on pressures vs. sacks in a 4 game, single elimination tournament. OL talent. Get Kromer the players he needs. Get Josh linemen he can trust. Keep the offense loaded. The days of run the ball and play defense (RBPD?) are over, don't forget it. That said, get a downhill bruiser to compliment Singletary. -

Joe Burrow isn't going to last long if he keeps having to eat sacks at this rate. Bengals should be ***** ashamed of the "protection" he got. Especially because he was obviously hurt during the game and played through whatever happened. Football players don't make that face for every little scrape and bruise. -

That was a great game to watch. Too bad for Cincy, but they got gifted a TD and then couldn't do a damn thing for the rest of the half. -

Super Bowl LVI: Bengals at Rams

Looking forward to a game with Brady, Mahomes, or the Pats. Hopefully both teams play hard and matriculate the ball down the field. -
Zuerlein mock draft...Jordan Davis DT
Coffeesforclosers replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like a McBean pick; draft somebody with off-the-charts physical gifts and trust the organization to build up their technique and mentality. My guess is they move on from Hughes, Addison, Butler, maybe Epenesa. That leaves Star, Zimmer, Rousseau, Obada, Oliver and Philipps. If there's a DL coming, I'd love it to be Jordan Davis. Kromer probably has guys he wants too, and it'd be good to see this team get a little bit meaner and a little bit more vicious to compliment Josh. -
The NFL will always pick breaking into the markets they want over developing the markets they have.

There's more than one Rob Ryan coaching in the NFL right, it's not that Rob Ryan right? It can't be. -
Are we over-reacting to the 13 seconds?

I don't care how you argue it. No loss compares to an SB loss. -

Brian Flores suing NFL, NY Giants, Dolphins, Broncos.
Coffeesforclosers replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Rooney Rule is what it is, a bad solution to a much worse problem. But it's a solution that's needed. You can't tell me that a league that's 70% black can only produce one or two HC caliber a year? No ***** way, especially when you KNOW that there's more black players than Randy Moss, Ed Reed, and Willie McGinnest that have off the charts football IQ. Now Flores is a smart guy, at more than just football. He linked the Rooney Rule issue, ie: that the Rooney Rule is a ***** joke that all NFL owners and hiring executives are in on, to match fixing/collusion. Now he can't just be pigeonholed as a guy that can't hack it taking pot shots at his boss. The whole league has to square up to him now if they want this to end. He's made all the right moves to max out his leverage and he's going to get his pound of flesh. -
Brian Flores suing NFL, NY Giants, Dolphins, Broncos.
Coffeesforclosers replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is what actually has the NFL worried. Flores having proof of want amounts to a point shaving/match fixing scandal. Ross is so ***** dumb I'm honestly wondering how I'm not a billionaire. It's got to be easier than it sounds if he can pull it off. -

52-17 in SB 27 will always be the single most indefensible, mind numbing, ridiculous loss in Franchise history. -
OL coach Bobby Johnson headed to NY, has signed contract
Coffeesforclosers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Meh. Who'll miss him. The OC hire will dictate the OL coach hire, so we'll have to wait on that. -
The Chiefs man...it is starting to look like a pattern isn't it? They smoke a bunch of teams in the regular season, Mahomes gets hyped up as the next GOAT...then they beat a team in the playoffs and starting planning their SB Parade down Missouri's only paved road. Then they choke/implode and it all happens again the next year. Except they got that one ring, so they aren't a laughingstock, or compared to the early Manning era Colts. It makes all the difference.

The King in the North was good, except Joe Burrow may win it all. And the nerdiest among us don't really want the image Josh's body paraded through a burning castle with a wolf's head sewn onto his neck. Sorry for the GoT spoilers.

Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants
Coffeesforclosers replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nothing against him personally, but Jesus Brian, find a taylor. And switch over to Italian cut suits, that Saville Row style British cut is great if you're 6'2", 160 soaking wet, and drive a horse instead of a custom Ford Super Duty. If I was making a million a year, you're damn right I'd show up in bespoke tailoring on my first day. Dude looks like he's wearing a tie and a hefty bag. -
Are you excited about the Superbowl matchup ?
Coffeesforclosers replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Looking forward to this SB more than usual actually. We've got a good spread planned for the SB party, and for once I am a completely neutral observer who's just looking for a good game. Next year though... -
I KNEW I should have thrown a five way parlay on Cinci.
