Big takeaways from the more sober Pats podcasters on Victory Monday. 1. Vrabel's defensive philosophy couldn't stop the run. Belichick's defenses were based on gap integrity and containment, so all runs were funneled to the middle of the field for enormous DTs and ILBs to clean up. Vrabel's are based on penetration and disruption, which the Bills capitalized on to generate displacement. Example: on the go-ahead TD run by Cook, the Pats DT fires upfield and O'Cyrus just waved him by and walled him off, while the rest of the OL works downfield and Cook runs into the space 2. Drake Maye shrank in the moment. 3. DALTON KINCAID IS THEIR ONLY RECEIVER, HOW IS HE RUNNING WIDE OPEN AGAINST A COVER 2 SHELL ON 3-7?!?

Bosa: what Von was supposed to be
Coffeesforclosers replied to AlCowlingsTaxiService's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bosa seems like a high variance player emotionally, but when he makes plays it's at key times. Hopefully the post season sets his ass on fire. -
But he does offer validation for people who...like repeating what we all already know, and feel the need to discuss ad nauseam.

UPDATE 2025 - The Trump economy
Coffeesforclosers replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Our trade deficit drops from $59 billion to $52 billion. China's trade surplus just hit $1 Trillion. I don't have a fancy STEM education, but one of those sets of numbers seems better than the other. -
Huh. So he had nothing positive to say about the OL, TEs or James Cook?

An Observation during broadcast of Bills/Bengals

Dennis Lock, who's photo doesn't appear on the team website near as I can tell, is "Vice President of Football Research". Maybe you spotted Cole Jacobson, football analytics guy late of the University of Pennsylvania, who is a "Football Research Assistant" for the Bills? -

@GunnerBill. How's your "softzone" bingo card looking today? -
Ha, yeah. We've got collegial boards like the Stadium Wall...and Xitter spamming dittohead influence operations like PPP.

I loved the Jackson Hawes TD play. It was entirely Hawes using his initiative. He's not supposed to do anything but block. So after he blocks his guy into oblivion for four-ish seconds, he's like, wait, the play is still going on? Something's wrong! So he sort of walks underneath the uprights and shows Josh his numbers. Of course nobody on Cinci is assigned him in coverage because he's been blocking for a football eternity.

Way too early Playoff picture (not anymore)

I also doubt our RBs will piss away two touchdowns, but I'm a glass half full guy. -
There’s something different about McD this season…

The username makes sense! All of the above. Exactly, football is a distraction and a welcome one
