  1. Maybe, but there isn't much out there. They worked out Ponder and passed on him. Ponder was the best available of FA QBs. Otherwise it's Matt Flynn.
  2. I think you're right, I think that was their logic.
  3. My initial reaction is we didn't get enough in return for this trade. Cassel had more value to us as a backup QB this year than whoever the 2017 6th or 7th rounder will be; a pick that usually (not always) doesn't even end up making the team. I would've preferred a player-for-player here and receive depth OL (La'el Collins???). Considering the Cowboys are desperate, I would've thought we had more leverage here. Obviously I am just speculating, I'm sure you'll tell me why this was impossible.
  4. Not to mention the penalties from the O-Line when they weren't just letting people through. Yeah, he's not Brady, but give him a MINUTE. All things considered, Tyrod played as well as anybody could. This topic should be put to rest.
  5. I agree. Watching Seattle last night, too, they do good job of this and they also have QB bootleg as a regular playcall, which we'd be wise to use in key 3rd down situations considering we supposedly have the fastest QB in the NFL.
  6. I don't think those 2 INTs are on Tyrod besides in stats. Those were both catchable balls. If you're looking for individual blame, that is way more on the receivers. Really though I think it's more of an offensive rhythm thing which will improve. It's week 2.
  7. I agree, and like I said earlier — I think Robert Woods makes that catch if he's in that position and gets his hands on the ball like that. I mean, Mike Williams made that same catch against Chicago last year IIRC. It's a tough catch but when you can get both hands on it, as a top WR you have to come down with it, that's what makes you different from a Robey or any DB. It's not Sammy the person's fault he has this much hype on him to expect improbable things, but when the team promises that kind of player with the kind of bet it took to get him, it's reasonable to expect those things. At this moment he isn't looking like Julio Jones or even a Lee Evans. It seems to me like he's not beyond questioning why Percy or Robert shouldn't rotate in more. I can't wait for him to prove that totally wrong and take the next step toward being consistently reliable but that's just how it is right now.
  8. The way the team battled back in the 4th quarter gives me hope. Maybe it takes something like this to learn and turn the corner, and maybe it's better to have it happen early. Maybe by the Monday night game in Foxboro the Bills can play a cleaner, cooler, more consistent game.
  9. Concerned about the Bills coming out flat next week. They have a history of doing that after bitter losses. Hopefully they can learn to control their emotions.
  10. Mr. Big Deal...
  11. The defense played emotionally, but strategically they did not look aggressive. They gave WRs too much room off the line, when we knew going in that doesn't work against Brady. There was no interior pressure even though we were thought to have the mismatch there. Just really frustrating.
  12. The group I watched with was wondering this too. Why were the corners not playing more aggressive in jumping routes?
  13. There were some plays when Brady took his time. When there was pressure, it didn't seem to come from the middle. Yes, Brady got the ball out quick, but we knew to expect that coming into the game — I thought interior pressure was going to be the answer.
  14. Everyone thought this match-up was going to be the one that swung the game in the Bills favor — yet Brady didn't seem to face much pressure from the middle. What happened here?
  15. Dareus was a non-factor today.
  16. That wasn't a great ball, but if it hits you in the hands, YOU HAVE TO CATCH THAT. Robert Woods makes that catch.
  17. Podcasts are ways for comedians to develop material that evolves into being the polished bits you see in his specials. Twitter is the same way. You're not being charged for it. Being shocked that an off-the-cuff podcast isn't the same as a fully polished hour of material doesn't make you sound like a culture snob, it simply makes you sound old.
  18. I totally agree. I think the perception of the team — nationally, and also the team's self-perception — is going to swing from "Bills have a great D, maybe the O can get it done" to "This looks like a very complete and dominant ballclub in all three phases"
  19. Love the white-on-white. The snow combo! I personally would prefer these as full-time home uniforms, with the blue jerseys being the road shirts.
  20. Let's see more than one game in this new system before we worry about Sammy. That said, I agree, there is growing unrestful chatter about Sammy, and I get it, put-up-or-shut-up time is coming sooner than later. A big game against New England and being a major factor in a win, which I think is a very real possibility, would be a definitive "put up." (I hope so anyway, I reached for him in Fantasy and another dud week in a row will kill me.)
  21. Bills 34 Patriots 27 Blount has 2 TDs, Brady rushes for 1. Watkins, Clay, Tyrod scramble, and Karlos all get TDs.
  22. Wow, that is very encouraging. I definitely think it's going to be up to the offense having a 30+ point day to win this game which I can definitely envision.
  23. Stop Blount. Cover Gronk. Hit Brady. We win.
  24. Tyrod, looks-wise, kinda reminds of Andre 3000.
  25. Rambo's suplex made our entire Bills bar laugh out loud. It was pretty cool. Yeah, he definitely got hit, I wonder if they measure it by knockdowns — it was impressive how tough it seemed to knock Tyrod down unless he chose to go down.
