  1. In my personal experience, Philly fans are among the best. I mean you never know what kind of characters you'll have to deal with at any kind of sports event though, and thats true of the Ralph as much as anywhere else. If you're cool and composed I'm sure you'll have a great time.
  2. Okay yeah, that's better.
  3. It would be foolish to get rid of Whaley after this year, I think. This past year was his best off-season. Best draft so far. Great choices in free agency. I think Rex has very good GM instincts (Taylor, Darby, and probably Karlos) but I wouldn't trust him to run the whole show. Similarly, Whaley is very good at certain things but has had some foolish gambits (betting too much on EJ and Sammy when we could've been more conservative and better off). I think Rex and Whaley balance each other out.
  4. Shady & Karlos are more "slash and bash."
  5. Totally understand the argument to wait and see, but I predict his value will only continue to rise the longer the F.O. waits to extend him. That's just my feeling. I think he has been playing solid-to-great all year, considering the design of our offense, and has only continued to improve. I expect that will continue as he develops, and as the offense gels more and more.
  6. Fun thread! The Best McCoy — best player on the team Incognito — best o-line player we've had in years Gilmore — definitely a top 5 corner in the league and I give him a lot of credit for Darby's performance too Watkins — he frustrates me but there's no denying his elite talent Dareus — as good and consistent as Dareus is, if Hughes could stop taking horrible penalties I might rank him here instead of Dareus The Worst Kouandjio — probably won't be on a roster next year Henderson — he's been bad and the line's improvement with Mills in this week only highlights just how bad D. Williams — no redeemable qualities Felton — one of our worst run blockers which is bad considering that's his whole job Manuel — a major liability anytime he's under center The Boobie Dixon — easily the best player named Boobie on this team
  7. It's a valid question. The answer is because getting hit on special teams in the NFL is different than getting hit on special teams in college and Sammy's had injuries of one thing or another almost his entire time in the NFL so far. He probably still isn't 100%. So I'm sure they're protecting him. The hot take version of the same answer is that Sammy is softer than the examples you mentioned, Antonio Brown or DeSean Jackson or Deion Sanders. OBJ seems like a tool but he isn't afraid to take the hits that Sammy seems to shy away from. I'm not saying I want to see a WR get hit, just that you want to see the heart or courage like you'd see from Moulds, Andre Reed, even Stevie. To compare to a different position but the same level of elite talent, McCoy has shown way more heart in less time since being a Bill than Sammy. Hmmm... wait, has Shady ever returned punts? Didn't he return one against the Jets? Maybe if/when Sammy gets and stays healthy they'll do it. Anyway I don't think having stars return kicks a bad idea.
  8. Woods isn't enough of a threat nor is he showing enough progress. I was down on him last year too especially as Hogan emerged, so for me I haven't been impressed with Woods since his rookie year. Too bad the Jets got Decker and Marshall this offseason, or that Percy Harvin'd his chance here, any of them would be a much better complement to Sammy. I'm not sure who will be available but I think Bills should shop for a #2 WR in free agency.
  9. I think Dan will come around. Right now there is literally no better option. Maybe we can draft a kicker next year again.
  10. People will disagree because we just haven't seen enough of Mariota yet but when you see plays like that, and the running plays he's made all year, I hear what you're saying. Who are the better running QBs currently? Newton and then... I guess still Wilson even though from what I've seen he's been more of a pocket passer this year. Regardless of how you'd rank them, Mariota clearly looks legit as a double threat so far.
  11. Well, if we feel that the Bills are better than our record shows, then it stands to reason, so too could Philly and Washington be better than their records. Bills have played unevenly all year. I think they are more talented but there's more factors to what determines game outcomes than just that.
  12. While it's not necessarily saying much that Mills was better than Henderson... I agree. They should stick with Mills for next week at least.
  13. Philly and Washington aren't going to be pushovers by any means. These games are as "do or die" for their playoff hopes as they are for ours. In both cases the Bills are the better team though, so we'll just have to see if they're for real about keeping their focus and staying aggressive or if it's just talk.
  14. 1 of those 3 INTs in the first NE game came on a hail mary as the first half expired too, it was meaningless IIRC.
  15. Patriots lose 2 in a row. Today is a great day.
  16. I agree with all of that except for where to draft a QB next year. Admittedly I don't really know for sure but isn't next year's crop of QBs as weak or weaker than the 2013 EJ/Geno class? I've read that a few times. I do think they need to draft more QBs as an organization in general but don't necessarily agree one of the top picks should reach for a QB if it doesn't make sense. In other words, I think the Bills are in a position of relative BPA for the draft with the big needs being OT and LB. I wouldn't mind the 2016 QB depth chart looking like this: #1 - Tyrod #2 - RG3 would be a great back-up at the right price; similar-ish play style; almost certainly will see the field at some point so could make sense for him too #3 - mid-round project QB
  17. Thank God for the CB depth. But definitely hope Gilmore's okay, we need him.
  18. I did the same thing and I agree. I thought his effort was highly questionable for most of the game. I understand not being happy with the scheme but get over it. You're not only a professional, you're supposed to be a leader.
  19. Also, Tyrod talking to Carpenter after the missed kick and talking to Hughes after the KC loss. Tyrod knows how to lead. The dude just gets it. I'm glad to see the team and most of the fans are committed to Tyrod because he's earned it.
  20. He's not perfect but which player has been? Rambo seems to make big plays every game though.
  21. I focused on Mario on every snap I could see him today and tbh I thought his effort was terrible. He seemed to be going half-speed the entire game.
  22. Such a dumb and racist statement, and no, the "there are a lot of brilliant black people" qualifier doesn't shield it. Taking the fact that "first black president" was a positive to his campaign supporters and somehow extrapolating that into he won "almost exclusively" on that is a leap you can only really make with the lens of racism. White people have never won the White House with similar campaign messages except for, well, all the times they did. Trump is almost exactly as qualified for leadership as Paris Hilton. Congrats to the GOP, looks like you'll be nominating the male Paris Hilton for president of our country. My favorite Trump fact is that he would've actually been richer if he had simply invested his inheritance and never attempted to be a businessman: http://www.nationaljournal.com/twentysixteen/2015/09/02/1-easy-way-donald-trump-could-have-been-even-richer-doing-nothing
  23. I think this has been Mario's worst year, not just stat-wise but that too. He seems to be blaming the scheme and clearly hates being in coverage and I think that's valid but I wonder how much is his effort or motivation. He's supposed to be a leader, right? I wonder how telling it is that Tyrod talked with Jerry Hughes as the de facto d-line captain after the KC game. One thing you can't take from Hughes is he plays with passion. The d-line for next year might be better off parting with Kyle and Mario. For what Rex wants to do, that might make more sense overall. Pair Hughes and Dareus with younger players, could be same or better net result. I think part of the reason Gilmore's game improved this year, although it was great last year too, was b/c having to lead a younger player almost forces you to stay on your game to keep authority. Hard to say whether Mario's effort or the coaches' scheme/motivation is more to blame but it sucks that Mario has been mostly a non-factor this year so far.
  24. There seems to be a delusion that somehow the argument against gun control "won" in this thread simply because I am massively outnumbered. I want to do a quick recap and make it clear for those with trouble reading that is not the case. I mopped the floor with half this board with one hand tied behind my back. Frankly, you're only lucky there wasn't an objective scorekeeper because it wasn't close. What I say is not unique. I'm representing a very widely held belief in a board where there is no representation for said belief. The NRA is a harmful influence; stronger gun control is overdue and necessary. If you think there isn't a huge amount of support for that sentiment, you're once again deluding yourself. Quick question — have conservatives ever been right about ANYTHING? I'm serious. Where are the conservative victories that should give you ANY kind of validity to ANYTHING you say? Economics? No. Foreign policy? No. Social issues? Obviously not. So, why exactly should anything a conservative says ever be taken seriously in any way?? Conservatives have been proven wrong historically about every position they've EVER taken. "History has a definite liberal bias" indeed. Being a conservative is like being the Washington Generals of policy. It's an embarrassing thing to be, so I don't mind shaming your stupidity. Name ONE victory for the conservative ideology! The history of this country is the struggle of slowly dragging whiny conservatives on a leash toward basic, sensible progress. Yet you continue to reproduce in large ugly numbers, fighting just as hard to lead us into the world of Idiocracy. There is no valid argument in favor of the NRA. There is no valid argument against stronger gun control. Despite my thread title, only FireChan offered any sort of defense for the NRA and it wasn't much of a defense, he mostly admitted they are highly suspicious but didn't want to do anything about it. No coherent counter-argument against my claim was articulated even though I directly challenged for it. Unfortunately for the blood sport of debate, no Bill Buckley's emerged among you, not even a Bill O'Reilly. Here are the counter-arguments you guys collectively came up with that I didn't address head-on in my first post: —You're an idiot —There actually isn't a gun problem —How would we do it? —It sounds like a hassle! —We're not admitting guns are a problem but if they were what would we do?? —Why don't you have all the answers? —You're an idiot —I heard a story about home invasion —It was in the Second Amendment and they're smarter than me —Citizens need protection against the government, specifically with automatic weapons —Nobody in Paris owns a gun but if they all had guns they wouldn't have had terrorism maybe! —Gun deaths are higher in states with less stringent gun laws oops wait no focus on the senator's quote —You're an idiot and you're not "that" good at sarcasm —Guns aren't the problem, it's Muslims —Idiot You have collectively hung yourself with 14+ pages of rope, only further proving: There is no valid argument against stronger gun control. There is no valid argument in favor of the NRA's agenda. The only arguments against gun control / in favor of guns, despite your consistent attempts to label liberals as emotional, are ironically all based purely on emotion: —Delusional fantasies of being a cowboy hero —Irrational fear of the other, aka, thinly veiled racism —Tradition Gun owners don't like to admit that owning a gun is all about feeling safe when it's in your hands and feeling powerful when you're shooting it. You are factually neither safer nor more powerful with the gun. There is nothing to suggest guns are a positive influence. It's all bluster. When you do nothing for gun control, you end up with absurd solutions like these. This is the world you have created through ignorance, indifference, and inaction. I honestly think the only thing that might shake conservatives from their beliefs are more extreme tragedies; it's going to be more innocent kids in schools getting shot. Sandy Hook wasn't enough because conservatives are slow processors, it takes repeated shaking for them to get moving. Again, this is why conservatives are useless. You take forever to reach conclusions normal people reached years ago. The reality is there is a growing sentiment that old conservative white men who support the NRA are one of the most dangerous extremist groups in the country. You are quite literally what is wrong with the world. Azalin said: "You can't stop gun violence by advocating a cultural change which relies on willing and knowing curtailment of Constitutional freedoms, the precedent of which would have implications regarding all guarantees enumerated in the Bill of Rights." Not with that attitude you can't If I'm just an idiot, how we did we get to 14 pages? It's because I struck a nerve and you know there is plenty of truth to what I'm saying, you just don't like hearing it. On the other hand, this board doesn't mind all kinds of horrible racist and misogynistic posts from many of the very same posters who participated in this thread, yelling voraciously to shout me down. Tell you what, if I'm so wrong and you're so right, try what I did here. Go to a leftist forum and say your version of the truth, as baldly as I stated mine. Can you even articulate your beliefs? "Mass shootings are part of life in America. The NRA supports the 2nd Amendment which is infallible. Supporting the NRA is my civic duty." If that's your belief, man up and test 'em. It's easy to stay in your cozy echo chamber — I could've stayed in mine — it takes balls to deal with angry dissent head-on. If nothing else, you should question all of your beliefs and test them rather than just accepting things because "that's the way things are." Conservatives never do this, because questioning leads to curiosity leads to learning... those things tend to lead away from conservatism. 25. I love guns so I am committing to highly selective reading but I accidentally clicked that link about the dumb Senator to laugh at her dumbness and OH NO IT ENDED WITH THIS PARAGRAPH Don't worry I yelled shut up at the screen because I hate reading and I love guns.
