Likelihood of Keeping Gilmore/Darby Combo?
LA Grant replied to spoogy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, Darby is a rookie and Gilmore is under option next year. They absolutely need to extend him and I think they will get it done. The future of our secondary looks great. -
From the Buffalo News today: http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/11/11/soft-spoken-stephon-gilmore-is-turning-out-to-be-a-vocal-mentor-for-bills-dbs-during-games/ Gilmore and Darby are the most consistent positives on Defense this year, and Gilmore has been solid-to-great the last couple years. Gilmore actively working with Darby to mold and improve him is huge for this team in general. Excited to keep seeing them grow together.

I think that Hue Jackson took this game personally
LA Grant replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Without Rex, there's no Tyrod, and Hue would be stuck with EJ and McCown or Cassel. -
Rex is forcing a defensive style this team can't play
LA Grant replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kinda reminds me of when Greggggg Williams came in at the start of the drought and tore apart our highly ranked 3-4 defense so he could install his Tennessee system that didn't fit our players. -
Source: EJ Manuel to start Sunday for Tyrod Taylor
LA Grant replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope we see a lot of quick slants tomorrow and pass more than we run. I'd rather use McCoy more as a receiving threat than trying to run up the middle every first down. Manuel is great throwing down the middle and that's an advantage of a bigger guy. I really want to see a fired up Manuel 2.0. It's not far fetched to see EJ connecting more with Watkins and Woods as his primary targets. Then the local media can spin a story about comparing the Whaley guys versus the Ryan guys —Manuel & Watkins or Taylor & Harvin; if you could only keep one pair, who would you choose? -
Cassel and Manuel both start on Sunday with Taylor on the bench — it's like the summer rotation is continuing.

Bucky: Trading Cassel doesn’t look good right now
LA Grant replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, we'll sure as hell see since both Manuel and Cassel will be starting on Sunday. -
OL is still a mess....glad we won
LA Grant replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Optimistic take: Maybe in a few weeks we'll see this unit really bounce back. Kromer, Williams then McCoy will all return in same stretch and should have a big impact on how we see the OL perform. -
Tyrod's runs should be happening more because of design and less because of improvisation. That's no knock against his improvised scrambles, but the coaching staff baffles me by not calling more designed QB sweeps. The QB counter sweep that Mariota ran today for 30+ yards is something you see Seattle run almost every single game. It is a very high percentage play, and ought to be used like a screen — we should be seeing it at least once a game, especially in big third down situations. I'd much rather see called QB counter sweep type plays than any more of these mickey mouse reverse plays. Don't outthink yourself, Greg Roman.

Pegulas need to be on the phone Monday morning with the league office for the Graham penalty.

I just received my tickets in the mail, but I unfortunately have to sell them. If you know anyone looking for tickets and will make a reasonable offer, I'd rather they go to a true Bills fan. Block 120 Row 41 Seats 262-263

I think all fans understand this and accept this. Even the most optimistic kool-aid fan accepted these limitations going in. What's frustrating is the sloppiness, especially the stupid penalties. Glenn, Hughes, Wood, Bradham — these guys have all taken too many penalties this year and they all should know better at this point.

The "can Dan" Carpenter thread
LA Grant replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kickers are struggling all over. Carpenter has not been reliable so far this year, but he's still the best option right now. -
Robert Woods Fumble - no forward progress?
LA Grant replied to Bills!Win!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the right take. -
The thing that makes you the most mad...
LA Grant replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not losing that makes me mad, it's HOW they are losing that drives me crazy. What makes me the most mad is these are CORRECTABLE problems, which would give me hope instead of anger, if the coach and players seemed more committed to correcting those. Maybe they are genuinely committed to fixing their attitudes, but from what we can see with how they carried themselves on the field and how they present themselves to the media, they do not seem to totally get it. The media coverage is correct that right now we're not seeing accountability from the team, we're seeing excuses. And Kyle Williams is also right, this is going to be a self-fulfilling prophecy; they're developing a reputation as dirty, so the refs are going to be looking for it, which leads to even more ticky tacky borderline calls, on top of the ridiculous personal fouls that need to stop immediately. In other words — they're playing dirty and dumb. That's what makes me mad, even more than losing. -
Coughlin Told Giants That Bills Would Beat Themselves
LA Grant replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They'd better at least remove the damn ping pong table -
Why are they spending 30 seconds between each play, then throwing across the middle, not taking time outs, not spiking the ball, barely looking like they're hustling at all — why is that happening if you're down two scores with like 3 minutes to go?

Shady Listed as Proable for Sunday vs. Cincinnati
LA Grant replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He can rest until the Bye, frankly. It's for the grueling second half that we're going to need 100% Shady. -
I hope the Bills can keep Percy Harvin
LA Grant replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe we just take it year to year with Percy, a series of one-year deals. -
An idea to slow down the Patriots offense next time
LA Grant replied to BornNRaised71's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's kind of an evil idea, exactly the kind that Belichick would devise. It's so crazy it just might work! -
I hope the Bills can keep Percy Harvin
LA Grant replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's been excellent, a very pleasant surprise. I knew he was talented and fast but I didn't expect him to show as much effort as he's shown. He's showing a lot of heart out there. I absolutely want Harvin around for as long as he wants to be here. Personality-wise, I think he wants to be in a place where he's valued and loved and supported and I think Rex & the Pegulas make Buffalo a great fit for him. I can't see why he'd want to be anywhere else unless he gets to a production point where he wants to be the unquestioned #1 WR on a team. -
Ronald Darby putting up Darrelle Revis-esque coverage stats
LA Grant replied to pbanach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darby's pass break-up during that goal line stand was especially impressive. I'm blown away by Darby and am so glad he's on the team. -
Karlos Williams is so, so, so good.

Sammy - Time for this dude to start playing ball.
LA Grant replied to jumbalaya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At this point, McCoy is just a really expensive 3rd down back. He's great in space, great catching the ball, big home run potential. But lets be honest: If we were basing playing time on production and how players have looked so far this year, Williams should be the bellcow. Dude is legit. -
Sammy - Time for this dude to start playing ball.
LA Grant replied to jumbalaya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotta say, I agree. Sammy seems soft to me. He's a guy with all the talent in the world but SO FAR just isn't bringing it consistently. Harvin & Woods are playing better ball so far this season and IMO it isn't even close.
