  1. It's sad to see kids & parents sad because a bunch of children were murdered again with a legally purchased AR-15 assault rifle. But it's not SO sad that the Legal Gun Owners should be inconvenienced in any way whatsoever. What kind of totalitarian regime are you trying to set up? How much is George Soros paying you to be a Crisis Actor? Do not expand background checks. Sure, you have to take behavioral tests/assessments to work at Wal-Mart but not to own a gun, which means people who are too psycho to work at Wal-Mart are still perfectly qualified to own 100 guns. Do not expand testing & registration requirements. Sure, you need to do this maintain a driver's license. But are cars in the Second Amendment? Didn't think so. We're Patriots! By the way I also think that it's only fair that we revise traffic/vehicle laws to be as de-regulated as gun laws. "Um wait, you want to add MORE idiots on the road?" Well, sometimes the only one way to stop an idiot on the road is a good driver on the road. I say I'm a good driver, that should be enough. And never, ever, EVER limit the war machines that my child has access to. He's 18 so he's not ready for beer or cigarettes but this is a FREE COUNTRY and he will defend with your life his right to own any gun. Here are some solutions that my fellow NRA-supporting Legal Gun Owning Heroes can feel comfortable with: 1) Every teacher has a gun (they can buy it with their school supplies) 2) Every door & entrance has a sheriff's deputy (I'm not paying for this with my taxes tho) 3) We need to hire a lot of new sheriff's deputies (I'm not paying, sorry, no more kids in school, not my problem) 4) New school uniform: SWAT gear. (again, not paying) 5) Thoughts 6) Prayers 7) Mental health!! (Just not on my dime.) USA USA USA USA GO BILLS
  2. You're an idiot. Really, truly, genuinely. You should not be allowed to own any gun. You probably own 10. You're an idiot. Facts would be useless on you. You live in a fantasy world. You are an idiot. You're a racist cynical lazy old man and your best anecdotes are about installing Fabio's speaker system and your posts are so vile it almost make me want to like Tim Graham out of spite. TIM GRAHAM!! You idiot.
  3. The Bills have no shot even if they tried to re-create the Ricky Williams trade in some kind of Producers-esque plot by Beane & McDermott. But I do think Barkley is the real deal and could potentially revive Cleveland alone.
  4. Gronk is right to retire. He's better off as a friendly meathead personality than continuing to play, he's already won SBs. I know 20/20 but at the time the Bills needed a TE and I wasn't the only one hoping to draft him because of the hometown thing. He was the one respectable thing about the Pats. Until his horrible cheap shot on Tre White. Just so despicable and neither the league nor the Pats or anyone made it right. So, he should retire, I think he'll be successful as a personality, and I wish he wasn't a scumbag but that hit was unforgivable.
  5. To be honest, I wouldn't want to be the Patriots. I wouldn't switch places. Yes, they have how many rings, how many appearances, etc. I get it. But it all feels hollow, and when Belichick leaves, and Brady leaves, okay, they're the GOATs. Good job, guys. But the way they've won is boring. All of their SBs have been close games which generally will make for an exciting game, except the way they play isn't exciting at all. They've had great players over the years but unless you are Brady or Belichick, the 'team' is expendable. Add to that the multiple cheating controversies, Aaron Hernandez, all of the weird creepiness of Brady & Belichick as people... I wouldn't want the peak of my team's success to involve all of the extra crap. Ideally, you want to watch teams. This year's Eagles were a great and fun team. The Bills of the early 90s, or late 00s, or even this year's. The early Kurt Warner Rams teams. But when have the Patriots ever really been about more than Brady & Belichick? Was it ever really about Randy Moss or Corey Dillon or Troy Brown? Of course not. They were cogs. "Do the players get paid to have fun?" I think they do. Obviously it's a job. But they're professional athletes, which is to say, entertainers. When you see a live band, you're paying for them to play the music in the same room, but you're having a much better time if they're having fun on stage. Frankly, I'd be more embarrassed as a fan hearing players calling the team a "fear based organization" than I am if, say, Sammy or Marshawn doesn't like the city's nightlife. The Patriots have run up the score, maybe not with cheat codes, but in a clinical way that sucks the fun out of football for everyone except two people and Bob Kraft. For everyone else, The Patriot Way is a blackhole of joy. I'd be happier as an Aaron Rodgers/Packers fan, than a Brady/Pats fan. I wouldn't trade "X more SB rings" for their reputation and overall sliminess.
  6. I think the Bills don't make a big move up, though maybe they move a bit, but I don't think they try to climb the board for a QB. I think it looks something like 1,1,2,2 — OL, DL, RB, QB 3, 4 — LB/CB, OL/DL 5, 5 — WR/TE, LB/CB If they do move up, I like Baker Mayfield.
  7. I'm also high on Groy. But I think the best Bills draft involves heavy investments into the O-Line and D Line.
  8. Been saying this all year: I'd just like to see what Tyrod looks like with a season of consistent receivers, in a modern RPO offense, with a play caller that believes in him. I'd happily take Foles, but whoever is QB, I'd like to see the team able to provide those things. And Foles is the only QB on the market including rookies I'd want over Tyrod, but that's just me. How many simple slants and quick inside/outside routes did we see in the SB versus how many did we run this year? It's the same routes constantly just in different formations. It's so simple for the QB, and with RPO, much simpler to read the defenses. Your throws are either there, or they aren't. So you either check at the line to hand-off, or you take a look then scramble. I only want Tyrod in the pocket if it's play action, otherwise, stay wide in shotgun. It seems so simple but watching the Bills you'd think it's alien. The Bills pretty much have the personnel, minus a power RB and line depth -- if Benjamin, Zay, Clay, and Thompson can stay healthy and they can get into a rhythm with a simple offense. I am vaguely optimistic Brian Daboll will turn out to be in the mold of younger, more flexible, aggressive offensive mind like Doug Pederson, Frank Reich, Sean McVay, et al. Get your QB, keep it simple, then get aggressive. Imagine QB & Shady co-calling plays in no huddle K-Gun. Simple, fast, QB friendly, plays to our strengths.
  9. I would. Butler for Gilmore? That's a good trade. With Tre, Poyer, Hyde? Yeah. Do it. He's a good player.
  10. Wrong decision to bench him, I think. The team is better with him on the field. Maybe they win the game with Butler. If him being late or caught with weed had a noticeable impact on his play in the game, pull him and bench him. If not, then -- punish him later. Cut him the day after to make your point. But this, even Marrone wouldn't be this stubborn. It's the Super Bowl and you're so used to being there, you're willing to put minor transgressions, really just for being insubordinate, ahead of the well-being of the team as a whole. I can definitely see that bothering players.
  11. Yeah it sucks for Peters but its still different to have the ring. Even unable to play because of injury, he earned that ring this year, as did Wentz.
  12. Yeah, this is the right read. I'm sure it sucks. I'm sure it's hard to not be like "I should've been there" on some level. He was dumped unceremoniously from a situation he was very happy in. I also think his love for Buffalo and love for playing is all entirely genuine. I'm sure he likes where he's at now. But still, it's your ex doing better without you. And they tried, weakly but tried, to get him back this year. So I'm sure it sucks for him to some degree, but I think he just turns that into being more committed to this team and more of a leadership role, stepping in where Eric Wood left off. He's been great as a leader already and could see him growing further with a QB change. His Tribune essay was all about wanting to win in the playoffs. Bills need to add another viable starting RB, ideally in the first four picks, more of a power back but with more speed/agility than freaking Tolbert. Shady needs to be in a RPO. Hopefully we mostly run an RPO. But the Bills also need a run-first game, so get a good power back. This offense is totally different with a Fournette splitting time with McCoy either way, but if you can then also keep McCoy in the pass game and run him from shotgun, you also gain the better version of his skillset.
  13. Yes. Man, I've been high on Foles since hoping the Bills would draft him his rookie year. I think he is the only QB available who makes sense as an upgrade from Tyrod. And now Foles is the Brady killer — he outdueled him in the Super Bowl. Come to the AFC East and finish the job, chase him into retirement. I've been hoping for an RPO with Tyrod, but an RPO with Foles would be even better.
  14. Great interview from Doug Pederson & Nick Foles on NFLN. Lots of shout outs to Frank Reich -- Pederson is always quick to credit him. Probably the most humble, likable Super Bowl winning coach/mvp in recent memory. I mean, you have 3 backup QBs beating Brady in a shoot-out to deliver their first SB win. It's great.
  15. I think Philly fans get a bad rep. Yeah some are obnoxious but... in my personal experience, Eagles fans remind me most of Bills fans. I've seen some gnarly Bills fans at the Ralph too. The table jumping BillsMafia isn't representative of ALL Bills fans - they just get the most press because, hey look, obnoxious fans. Within the NY/PA region, the worst fans I think are Steelers and Jets, but it's all just personal experience. On an unrelated note, I think the Sixers are an easy team to like, too. Don't care about baseball and screw the Flyers. There's a lot to like about the Eagles franchise and easy to see similarities with Bills. A bit of an exaggeration but ok. If the Bills won the SB, it'd be the exact same scene: http://www.wbaltv.com/article/fireworks-and-fires-in-philadelphia-as-eagles-fans-celebrate-first-super-bowl-win/16567744
  16. Congratulations to Philadelphia and Eagles fans on their first Super Bowl victory. A great game. Unwanted backup qb Nick Foles outduels Tom Brady. Overcoming a few terrible calls/non-calls. I would've been rooting for Philly over any of the AFC teams, but the fact that it was against the Patriots was doubly satisfying. The lack of pressure on Brady for 80% of the game and then coming through strong in the last moments, still mostly only 4 man rushes, was the Schwartz D at its best. I've always felt like the Bills and Eagles were cousin franchises — both had a string of consecutive almost Super Bowl wins; Eagles fans are diehards, just like Bills fans; the people are similar. They get a bad rep for being obnoxious but then again #BillsMafia has made the team synonymous with jumping through tables. The Eagles & Bills have never had any rivalry, so unless it's just bringing in animosity from the Broad Street Bully Flyers or the 90s Flyers or whatever screw the Flyers, but the Eagles are solid in my book -- they've always had guys like Brian Dawkins who were just great players. Randall Cunningham. I liked McNabb, from Syracuse. The Vikings & Bills have some similar franchise history but outside of Minneapolis & Buffalo both being cold, the fanbases/cities aren't that similar, imo. Cleveland & Buffalo are similar towns but the franchises aren't, really - the Bills have had hope from time to time. Point is — I'm happy for the Philadelphia Eagles. I'm happy for friends who are Eagles fans, and friends from Philly who aren't even hardcore football fans but still know how much it means to everyone they know back home. I'm happy for the former Bills who played great in Buffalo and continued to do so in Philly — Nigel Bradham, Ronald Darby, Corey Graham. Jim Schwartz. Frank Reich. I wish all of them were still with the Bills but it is what it is. They deserve to have this victory. And because it can't be said enough — screw the Patriots. Nick Foles is Super Bowl MVP. Case Keenum and Blake Bortles were in the Championship games. Tyrod Taylor took the Bills to the playoffs. Anything can happen.
  17. Darby, Graham, Bradham, Reich, Schwartz >>>> Gilmore, Hogan, Gilly
  18. Plan C, I think is you keep Tyrod at QB1, and go with a viable veteran alternative for QB2 -- Ryan Fitzpatrick would be a great fit. He's been in this situation at every stop of his career. If Tyrod stinks, you want to have someone more reliable than Nathan Peterman or EJ Manuel. I think Tyrod & Fitz could almost be complementary QBs in a creative scheme that uses QB2 in certain situations -- like if you have to pass a lot, and take more chances, especially if you're playing from behind. Similar to 3rd down RB, or a closer. Tyrod manages the game better than Fitz and gives you a potentially very dynamic backfield in a Philly or KC-style RPO. Tyrod is not nor will he ever be a gunslinger. That's not his game. Sometimes you need a gunslinger. But most of the time you need a manager. If we're playing with a lead, you don't want Fitz screwing it up with a poorly timed INT. Tyrod manages. And then QB3 is Nathan Peterman vs. our day 2 rookie QB.
  19. Fred Jackson. Takeo Spikes. Terrence McGee. Brian Moorman. Honorable Mentions: Aaron Schobel London Fletcher Lee Evans Travis Henry
  20. I liked Donald Jones on the show, I thought he represented the players' perspective pretty well, especially compared to Murph, Chris, Sal -- even Thurman, who is mostly just talking about who he got to rub elbows with that week (usually by forcing himself into a situation). I got the impression that Donald wasn't interested in being a "Bills-only" type of sports personality and expect that he will try to find a position where he can cover NFL stories from a broader perspective. Hopefully WGR / Bills Media replaces Donald with a similar recent(ish) player who can bring similar perspective.
  21. This Patriots team isn't as good as last year's. Of their SB teams, this one has the most holes, especially on defense. Blake Bortles had the game of his life against the Patriots today. The Patriots are in the Super Bowl because the AFC had to send somebody. The Eagles can and should win.
  22. I don't hate the Jags. I hate their uniforms or maybe just their helmets. It's a shame that the NFL may have that helmet in the Super Bowl. That's almost as bad as any other controversy they had this year. I don't care enough to hate Marrone. The way he left was lame, but, whatever. They're a pretty fun team that's a QB away from being an AFC powerhouse for years. Even without a QB, they're doing alright for themselves. Ideally, the Bills ascend as well, and the two teams develop a new playoff rivalry like Pats/Steelers or something. The Pats, though, are dull villains. Tired of them. The Jags helmets are a horrible thing to put on a television screen but Brady's face is worse. Either way, either the Vikes or Eagles will be the fan favorite in the SB, for good reason.
  23. Early results say... 50/50 split between "Trade up and get your Rookie" vs "Spend the money and get your Proven Veteran."
