The Good, The Bad, The Ugly 12 Men on the Field Addition
entropyrules replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think maybe going forward we need to make this the Good, the Bad, the Ugly and the "Billsy." After this latest 12 men on the field fiasco I think back to Mckelvin running the ball out of the end zone against the Patriots and promptly fumbling so the Bills who had a two score lead at the time could then lose the game in the last several minutes. I hope someone with better recall can create a compendium of "Billsy" moments over the history of Bills football. -
i wonder whether Elam is a total bust or if the coaching is just so bad that they can't utilize his talents in their D scheme. He probably is a bust but one can't say the Bills coaching staff is A+ and its all Elam. We'll probably never know until he starts playing for another team.

While I agree with the sentiment that the season is probably lost there are several reasons why tanking is not going to work. 1) as stated previously no one in this organization's management is going to sanction tanking either overtly or covertly 2) these are professional football players with big egos - they are not going to run for the bus - at least not until the season is close to ending 3) gven Buffalo's draft pick history I don't think we can count on them making the right pick regardless of where they are drafting. I think back to when they drafted Ed Oliver at pick 9 in 2019; drafted after him were Burns, Wilkens and Lawrence all of whom seem to be better players. Olivers not a bust-bust but he is only sporadically impactfull and that is one of the Bills problems on the D line - no real everydown player who makes a difference. The decisions Pegula makes after the completion of the season will tell us everything about the future of the Bills. If he sticks with the status quo and allows them to keep tweaking the roster they will go nowhere with maybe an occassional playoff berth and out after one round. On the other hand if they do a tear down maybe with the right GM and coach they can get back to challenging in 3 years. The problem with the latter approach is one has to decide about Allen as he will be closer to the end of his career than the begining and whether he can take losing for three more years. I am glad I am just a fan as this seems like a good example of a Hobson's Choice.

And special teams is also contributing to this horror show

if they can get to the second half down only 3-0 the Bills still have a shot at winning this

Week 10, Broncos v. Bills - Predict the Score
entropyrules replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
This game will probably result in several heart attacks and smashed beer glasses. Bills have late drive to score a TD with 15 seconds left to go up 24-23. Broncos get great special teams return, only to miss a 55 yard field goal as time expires. Someone forgets to tell Payton the ball doesn't travel as far at sea level. Final score Bills 24 Donkeys 23 Buffalo Emergency Rooms 15 -

The Bills are done, stick a fork in them
entropyrules replied to HopefulFuture's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would love to see what Allen could do with a better than average O line. The Bills O-line is somewhere between mediocre and atrocious. I do agree with the OP's take that Allen seems to have trouble reading the D and especially those corner blitzes. However he is still an immense talent that simply deserves to have better players around him. -
isn't this poll the epitome of a "Billsy" thing?

Just finished reading an article where it looks like the Bills ended up with 3 6th round picks for the 2024 draft....is that article right? I don't recall any of thsoe trades Updating the traded picks in the 2024 NFL draft after the trade deadline (yahoo.com)

Week 9, Bills v. Bengals - Predict the Score
entropyrules replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hate to pick against the Bills but this is a bad match-up on both O and D for the Bills. Bengals 27 Bills 13..almost a repeat of the playoffs. At least the Sabres are starting to win so there is some solace in being a Buff sports fan. -
If the Bills defense is healthy, they're 6-1 right now

Week 8, Bucs v. Bills - Predict the Score
entropyrules replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
well no jet lag or travel cocnerns this time but it is the Bills; maybe traveling from thier homes to the stadium is simply too taxing.. Will go one of two ways Bills crush the Bucs say 38-10 or the Bucs win a close one in a low scoring affair 20-17. My guess is the Bills actually pull this one out. -
Did Thursday's game vs Bucs influence our play vs. Pats?
entropyrules replied to VW82's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that 4 hr travel back east after going abck and forth across the pond accenuated the jet lag problem..hopefully the trip back to Buffalo from Boston doesn't add to the problem. -
I know I am oversimplyfying things a bit but I see the Bills taking one of three paths going forward 1. Stay the course, the ship will right itself as some of the injured players like Oliver will be back soon. 2. Make a major trade at the deadline to fix the more signficant holes; meaning giving up one or two high round draft picks. 3. Recognize the current make-up of this team including the cap problems prevent this team from going all the way. Thus one needs to think do they go for a 2, 3 or even 4 year plan where they trade or cut pieces that won't be here and try and load up on draft picks. Included in any of the above would be some coaching changes but outside of the O coordinator I don't see coaching changes altering the fundamental problems with this team.

just one of those days...not sure they can recover-eevrything seems to be going wrong.hoepfully the Pats don't score before the half

Week 7, Bills v. Cheats - Predict the Score

extremely worried about the travel lag affect going east from Buff to new England, then there are all those injuries, the Bills O can't seem to get on the same page and now Bass seems to be failing: Bills 30 Pats 7 -

Week 6, NJ Giants v. Bills - Predict the Score
entropyrules replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
well they probably have some form of jet lag coming back across the pond, mucho injuries to key players, the players missed Octoberfest, transition playing on cement to turf, and simply overconfident so Bills 38 Gmen 17 -
