Are your grades based on current performance or expected? That is, Mahomes is already close to his ceiling--he will get marginally better as he matures. Allen made a very significant jump this year, but there is so much more room to grow--there is significantly more space (compared to PM) between where he is and what he's capable of. In two years, I won't be surprised to see a post or article, similar to this post, with the conclusion "Thank goodness Pegula didn't prevail..."

Don't know about the previous year parallel, but I was thinking about McD and Reid as one. Reid was always a bridesmaid, knocking at the door. At KC, he kept building a stronger and stronger roster, and Mahomes replacing Smith finally got him over the top. I don't think the Bills are there yet, but we have the QB and we have the GM/Coach combo to keep making this team better and better until they do get there...

Well, it was all before Trump...He certainly has brought out the divisiveness that has been building for years. I hope we can recover from it....

I did the same, more so because the Trump supporters were like a cult that couldn't accept his most glaring faults or criticism of dear leader (not all of those who left fit this mold). Saw SDS's post and wondered what happened? Now it feels like I'm in a Twilight Zone episode. I've been here since PPP was created, and was one of the few "liberals" in a sea of red. The nice thing was we were all Bills' fans, and at the end of the day I'd be happy to have a beer with any of them, and I did with some. The Cult of Trump changed things, and I'm not sure this country will ever be the same, let alone this place....

Yeah, I don’t get the hate. In the last minute of play, our best WR beat their best all-pro CB, then their all-pro WR beat our best CB. Two of the best players on the field made awesome plays, as did their respective QBs.

Funny he doesn't mention 250,000 dead from the virus so far under his watch...

Week 10 Predict the score Bills at Cardinals
TPS replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I picked them to win last week, and My early week expectation was a loss after that big win. While it’s a toss up game, a half million $s donated to Children’s by BillsMafia says karma favors the Bills. Bass kicks the game winner: 31-30 Bills. -
Looks like Jaquan Johnson will be next man up if Hyde has issues. He's shown flashes when he's played.

Looks like we're shorthanded tomorrow - Covid-19
TPS replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not surprised by this as it's been accelerating here, like much of the country. Let's hope that's it by game time. On the bright side, I'd like to see what Jaquan Johnson can do. -
Perhaps the FED buying $3 trillion in assets from March to June helped a little bit....

Who is your favorite back up Bills player of all time?
TPS replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reading through this to see if anyone would name him--my choice too. As I recall, Kelly said no one could cover him as a WR, and I wonder if his career would've been different now that those shifty slot guys are so important...? -
I stopped posting here when it became clear you couldn't debate with the cult-like beliefs. One of these days I'll have to catch up on some of the threads to see what happened....

That was a fantastic read! Thanks for sharing.

Johnson or Flutie....

Were Democrats sore losers after the 2016 election?
TPS replied to Westside's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm not a DNC democrat--those who started it, as Wikileaks showed in a leaked Podesta email. I've never believed it, and I can point out a handful of liberal journos who also never fell for it, Greenwald for one. You can probably find some of my posts from a few years back stating this. That said, let's now have you provide that proof about Sanders that is "a known fact..." -

The facts you get from your biased media? Please provide link to the accusations you just made--the DNC paid him off with a multi-million $ house. Hell, if you can find a link to any house he owns that is worth more than a million, I'll even take that. -

You guys really need to try and understand the distinction between the DNC Center (HRC) and the left (Bernie). The DNC came up with Russia Gate. The actual left were pissed at the DNC for what they did to Bernie. I hope that also answers your question. -
But you do think responding, and therefore criticizing, someone else who does is a worthwhile post, despite the fact that 90% of what's posted is opinion...carry on.

Good. Better motivation to continue to be disrespected.

Is the Bills window smaller than thought?
TPS replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given the cap goes up every year, using a $ amount wouldn't be the best way to evaulate this. It would be better to use a % of cap space taken up. For example, $10 million was a lot of cap space 10-15 years ago... -
It should be obvious this is a subjective view of competition and psychology. Much like many here, I played all of the major sports through HS and various others into adulthood. I've experienced the mental aspect and seen it play out all of the time. I simply do not underestimate how it can seep into the mindset of professional athletes as well. As I said, I think McD understands this, as he does a very good job of getting the troops ready each week. Sometimes, it's not enough. The more you are aware of that mental aspect, the more you can prevent it though....It's just my opinion man...
-
I'm a big believer in the mental aspects of competition. In the "guess the score" thread for the Seattle game, I picked the Bills to win based on the desire to make a statement much like the Dallas Turkey Bowl last year. The NFL is really an "any given Sunday" league, and winning is as much mental as physical. The Saints aren't that much better than the Bucs, they just wanted/needed to make a statement more than the Over-confident Bucs. My point, I'm less confident about this game than I was about the Seahawks. McD is good at getting the players prepared each week, but players are susceptible to the mental challenges week-to-week. This is a game the Bills should win because they are the better team, but that mentality, if held by the players, could be their undoing this week...I hope not.

A Few Thoughts About the Seahawks Game, in no particular order
TPS replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was getting frustrated with the play calling in the second half, as it didn't seem Daboll was adjusting to their pressure. He finally called that screen to Moss, and I just read that it was Allen who acutally checked to the "Smoke Screen." I don't think I've seen a draw play in weeks, other than a QB draw. I'd really like to see Daboll do more to offset pressure, especially when the O-line loses a starter or two. Fortunately, a big win. -
Could set up nicely for the final game. We'll see how Tua handles the cold...
