  1. Over his last 2 years he has 127 receptions for 1364 yards, and 9 TDs. He averages over 10 ypc.
  2. He's going to reveal that his imaginary buddy Rex who he would meet at Coles' bar was actually Rex Ryan...
  3. You're not going to find a TE in the draft that will contribute right away. I think Charles Clay of Miami is the play in FA.
  4. Hmmm...would be ironic if the Jets now asked to interview the Schwartz, then hired him...
  5. the loss of revis also factored into that. His D relies on CBs who can cover man. Just looked up his career stats and forgot he went down with injury in 2012. Makes sense.
  6. Most important question, who will be the O-line coach?
  7. Assuming they re-sign their defensive players, then all of the unknowns are on O. 1. Can they get good enough play at the QB position? 2. Will Spiller stay if the right coach is hired? Do the Bills even want him? 3. What will it take to get average play from the Oline? 4. They need a threat at TE; can they find and sign a FA? 5. After Watkins, Woods, and Hogan, they still need another talent at WR; draft or FA? (Can Goodwin stay healthy?) I think Whaley/Pegulas can fix everything in 2015 except #1. The only time you can go out and buy a franchise QB, is when someone else thinks that QB is done.
  8. I posted earlier in this thread that stafford's poor play in 5 of 6 of their last games in 2013 was the reason that year. I've read elsewhere that lack of depth and injuries hurt them in 2012, but haven't verified that claim.
  9. The only big whiff on O so far might be Chris Williams. I'd be reluctant to blame DW for anything on O until we see what a competent coach does with this talent.
  10. There are a lot of similarities between Schwartz and belichick other than their results with their first coaching gigs. Both played football at academic-focused institution; both majored in economics; both had early experiences under ted marchibroda; both took bad teams to the playoffs in 3 years that subsequently tanked the next year; among others. While he's my #1 choice, I hope he has learned to rein his emotions in and is a little more mature since the last gig. the exit after the bills' win in Detroit makes that last point questionable...
  11. They want to be involved doesn't mean they will pay. It's good they do though.
  12. His boys now run the company.
  13. Buffal news web site says the boys are interested in helping build a stadium downtown.
  14. The one thing he knows well is how to interview. He helped Petrine get the browns gig too.
  15. As DC suggested, check out the PPP board. I'd suggest skimming a couple OCin buffalo posts to learn a little about poster etiquette...
  16. Never heard of him before. Interesting.
  17. That was also back in the day when Marv wouldn't play rookies too though.
  18. Revisionist history. Based on EJ's first year, all parties were of the opinion that EJ could develop into a good QB. He had a couple of rough outings, but he showed the ability to win some games on 4th quarter drives. Obviously, you still couldn't be sure. All indications were they wanted to get him some targets that "are open when they're not." They got Mike Williams with that in mind. Marrone may not have been 100% behind trading up, but he certainly new Whaley wanted to. If he waited until the trade was consummated to show his displeasure, then he's even more of a dick than we think.
  19. But doesn't pronounce it "Oh-Fence" eh?
  20. Aren't Buffalo NY media?
  21. Maybe he'll come back if the hire a good coach and OC?
  22. yes, they did exactly what the anti-whaley crowd demands, drafted a QB with their R1 pick.
  23. I've been thinking that next year will most likely be the last year for both Freddie and Kyle W. Freddie still has great value as a 3rd down back, and he's not going to cost them a lot to keep, so I think he will still be on the roster in 2015 for his swan song. I believe it is the last year of his contract. Kyle...the trooper...will most likely be done (with the Bills) after the 2015 season too. Two reasons: his 2006 cap hit is too high (yes, he could restructure), but I think the main reason is that Stefan Charles will supplant him next year, maybe not at first, but by the end. Charles should be ready to break out next year, which might even make the line better. Buffalo Bills 2015, It's a mad, mad world...
  24. You have to give the guy credit for taking the worst team in football to the playoffs in his 3rd year. I suppose you can blame him for Stafford's meltdown over that last season in 2013. The Lions were 6-3 after week 10, then... Lost @ Steelers 37-27. After leading 27-20 at the half, Stafford went 3-16 in the second half as the lions were blanked. Lost to TB 24-21; Lions had 5 TOs, with 4 INTs by Stafford. Beat the Pack on Thanksgiving day, Stafford's last good game of the season. Lost @ Philly 34-20; Stafford went 10/25 with no TDs or INTs, but fumbled 5 times, losing 1. Lost to Ravens 18-16; Stafford threw 3 INTs. Lost to NYG 23-20 in OT (controversial decision by Schwartz at end of reg); Stafford went 25/42 with 2 INTs Lost a meaningless game @ Minn; Stafford was decent with no C.Johnson in the lineup. Was it his coaching that caused Stafford second half of the season collapse?
  25. If hughes is not signed, then he will be franchised. They will sign him. Hogan is restricted, and I think Hariston might be too. To your point, it will cost a little more than half of that money to sign Hughes, Searcy, Hairston, HOgan, and Easely. Spiller and Spikes are the real ??? Not sure a new HC will keep a kick off specialist either. Wynn is another name I think they will re-sign.
