  1. that first question that carucci addresses is something I've been thinking about, the offense will go as far as the ____ will take them? QB or O-line? Vic says qb, and the person with the question says Oline. I think they each focus on a different issue. The QB puts a ceiling on how good the O can be, and that's what Vic is thinking. While the qb establishes the ceiling, the O-line can prevent them from hitting that ceiling. The bills will at least get average quarterbacking from cassel. It's possible, one of Ej or tyrod gives them a higher ceiling, but it's unknown right now. So assuming Casel is the qb, the ceiling is set. Hitting that ceiling depends on establishing the running game, and that's on the o-line. We know what we'll get with Cassel, but we don't know what the O-line is capable of, that's why I agree with O-line as the answer.
  2. It looks like it will be ready for football season for you out-of-towners looking for a place to stay. http://buffalorising.com/2015/06/construction-watch-buffalo-marriott-harborcenter/
  3. I think Hughes is going to have a huge year. For him that means the number of sacks will be closer to 20 than to 10.
  4. Don't think he's cleared from his injury yet?
  5. After watching Thurman and Roman, I was thinking we had 3 HCs on this staff. I have to say, i was more impressed with Thurman, though he doesn't come off very media savvy; more like, "don't !@#$ with me."
  6. How do you know it's not what he meant?
  7. Roman doesn't deliver his punch lines well, but he said one funny line in that presser. When asked about all of the running backs and trying to get them playing time, he said, "It'll make for some interesting formations in the preseason for sure." He was the only one chuckling at his comment, but I thought it was hilarious.
  8. He's one serious dude. Love listening to him. He's not media friendly. I hope he gets a shot at a HC job soon. I think his weather comment was his one attempt at levity.
  9. I've said this elsewhere, the D line that Ryan had with the Jets is one of the best run Ds in the league; the Bills' D-line forte is pass rush. Ryan knows stopping the run is more important than getting sacks, so it will be interesting to see what he does exactly with this front 7. Regardless, teams would be smart to attack the Bills' run D this year.
  10. Like Whaley said, this is the kind of draft where they have to earn their money. It's easy to give this non-flashy draft a poor grade today, and that's what the media's job is, to provide instant gratification. We'll see how it pans out in 3 years. Looking at last year's draft, it has the potential to be one of their best ever, if they end up with 2starting OTs in the next couple years, their mlb, and an all-pro WR. We'll see...
  11. Not that I know of, but I'm only familiar with standard team stat sites. I do know that the run D was worse in the second half of the season compared to the first (I exclude the Pats game since they rested a lot of starters).
  12. This just reminds of an issue I've been thinking about, the Bills' run defense. Despite all of the talk about how great Rex will make this defense, our front 7 are more suited in the pass rushing game than the run stopping game, which was/is the strength of the Rex's former Jets' front 7. The Bills improved significantly in Schwartz's "stop the run first" defense, but still were not a top 10 run D last year. This is where Spikes will definitely be missed, if he goes elsewhere.
  13. Actually, he was improving every year, and it seemed like he was going to have a breakout year (at least for him) when he got injured in 2013.
  14. That is funny stuff. It must be some translation program? Looking at some other sport headlines, it took me awhile to figure out what "Cavaliers will face Chicago in japanese convention semifinals" meant...
  15. Definitely the most underwhelming draft since that last time they didn't have a R1 pick--2005. That said, grades are meaningless until at least two years after each draft.
  16. Re Chris Williams, given the lack of depth at OT, I'm wondering if he may be looked at there, since it was his original position?
  17. Classic bpa over what we all read.
  18. good to have him going against Hughes and Mario. They need ck to step up this year.
  19. That was an easy prediction.
  20. I'm a ucla fan and watched a few games last year, he's EJ2. I'll be shocked if they take him.
  21. Hughes was such a critical re-signing. I recall a few late season games where it seemed he was on top of the QB on most pass plays. He's ready for a pro bowl run this year. Pass the koolaid!
  22. I'd be remiss if I didn't tout my neighbor's new Inn. He and his wife have refurbished a beautiful old Buffalo mansion on Lafayette Ave in the heart of Elmwood. Maybe not ideal for a group of guys, but if you like The Mansion and can't get in, this is an alternative. http://www.innbuffalo.com/
  23. If Browns don't make a move for Mariotta in the R1, I'm predicting they will take Petty in R2.
