  1. Sometimes you need to have a little patience. They don't have to solve every positional need in the first week of FA. The best trade Whaley ever made came after the draft in 2013. There will also be cuts after June 1st. They want clay, I want clay, but I don't want them to be in a position where they are forced to offer a contract that precludes making any more moves over the next 3-4 months.
  2. Jarius, Even though you haven't made it to a second page, you are appreciated (and pay no attention to Beerball's mis-spelling of your name, he literally drinks a beer ball daily). Welcome back!
  3. I am very happy to see this (and Easely too)! These less flashy signings are just as important.
  4. He's going to get a shot at it in NY. Fitz, Stevie, CJ, Chandler reunion...with a darn good D.
  5. Don't forget about the Canisius basketball player they signed!
  6. They have 7 days, but they can decline to match the offer any time prior, which includes 2 hours after seeing the offer.
  7. I understand, and I am sure he is thick skinned in normal discussions. Engaging people here serves him no purpose in his professional career. Maybe that's why he use to show up at PPP in the "tps inebriated state' once in awhile....he let it hang loose about things unrelated to "business".
  8. As a poster maybe, but as I recall he was ridiculed by people relating to his work, sources, etc. Why would you waste your time here? I'm sure he reads the Wall, like most media, players, etc, but there really is no benefit for him being a regular participant here.
  9. You haven't been around here very long have you...?
  10. i hope they don't start making decisions based on emotions. The hoodie doesn't. Maybe not a ring, but they will get their first taste of the playoffs...
  11. You have the splashy stuff covered, but I'd like to see Easely and Wynn back, as well as a run stuffing DT.
  12. I think Whaley is setting things up to be true his words--they will pick the BPA regardless of position.
  13. Then what will we do in the off season...?
  14. One more OL, Clay, and Easely, and they can cruise into the draft.
  15. I know Rex has said he wants a run-stuffer at DT, and they certainly don't have the classic space-eating NT on the roster. Wynn is more of a 3-4 DE I believe, so it seems he would fit the scheme, but they'd still need the NT?
  16. I would bet $ this will be KW's last year. He'll be 33 going into the 2016 season with $7m of pure cap space freed up if released. Maybe it will be time to put Charles in charge?
  17. I thought you were going to tell us they released Urbik.....
  18. Since the thread was closed, has anyone heard any update on Wynn's situation?
  19. Any news on Jarius Wynn? I'm surprised the Bills haven't tried to bring him back, as I thought he was very good in relief. Doesn't fit Rex's system?
  20. Yes, I am more optimistic about him than most I guess. I was reading a lot of his draft profile info a few weeks ago. Basically he is talented but raw, and many were concerned about his knee, hence his fall into R2. He also ran a slow 40, which I don't think is relevant for OL. I believe that he got by at bama on superior talent, but that doesn't fly in the nfl for a 21-year old. I was happy to see the article posted on TBD, as it tells me he's hungry and disappointed about what happened to him last year. I won't be surprised if he's the starting RT this year.
  21. This is my line of thinking too, though I think the Bills will get Lupati AND sign Hughes. I think one of either Kouandjio or Henderson will be very good at RT with good coaching. Glenn, Lupati, Wood, Incognito, and Kouandjio will work just fine.
  22. I disagree. And, I believe it is a lot easier to find an upgrade at G, then it is to find a pass rushing talent equivalent to Hughes. Defense wins championships!
  23. After they sign Hughes, then I'm in.
  24. I've been thinking about this issue for awhile, and I can't help but wonder if it was Hackett's fault? Here's my case: I remember Sammy Watkins saying during OTAs and camp that he had to work on his "steps." The passing offense was based on the WRs taking a number of "steps" consistent with the QBs drop (based on 3, 5 or 7 step drop-backs). I don't recall any discussion of this method in year one, and I am wondering if Hackett tried to come up with a fancy new passing system that was too mechanical? WRs and QBs having to focus on "counting" rather than playing. I can't imagine how long it would take to adjust to this kind of system? And, how does one adjust steps when being jammed at the LOS? The fact that all 3 QBs regressed tells me that it was a new system, which I think contributed to regression by the entire offense. I would certainly give EJ a pass (so to speak) on last year, and am very interested to see how he does this year in Roman's system, which hopefully doesn't rely on steps... Regarding the Oline and Marrone, I recall Marrone brushing off questions he got about moving people around during the preseason, trying to find the best 5 players rather than getting his 5 guys early on so they could develop consistency and timing during the preseason. He didn't think it was an issue. I think that WAS exactly the issue. I think the Oline regressed because of the lack of familiarity with who was next to you. My 2 cents.
  25. Well said. These are not the "same old Bills"....
