  1. With a 4-year deal, Gaines will be gone when Tre's would kick in, and they'd probably draft a couple over that period anyway. I think their dilemma is how they will get their QB? If they go for Cousins, they they have to fill their holes via the draft; if they move up to draft someone, then they will need to fill holes in FA. I think they'll go the latter route. They'll probably have a little over $30 million to play with. They should structure the bigger deals to reduce the hit this year (leaving more cash available for players this year), loading up in year 2 when they get the dead cap relief (over $20 mil). For example, say they could get Gaines with a 4-year $32 mill deal, which includes a $12 mil signing bonus. They could structure like so: ($3 + $3), ($3 + $7), ($3 + $5), and the same in year 4. I'd do something like this with their top 3 FAs. Just an example, but I think that dead cap space gives them some flexibility to add more players this year and smooth out the cap hit in the years after 2.
  2. I don't think giants will trade out at all. Unless you are Cleveland, getting the top 1-2 picks is rare, especially during a good year for QB--they will draft Manning's replacement. The first 2 picks will be QBs. Indy is a team that has a QB (as long as he recovers from that injury) and with multiple draft needs. I'M guessing darnold-Rosen will be the first 2 taken (not necessarily in that order), so if the Bills think Mayfield is worth moving up, then my guess is position 3, a trade with Indy.
  3. Count me in. Yes, I brought up being registered because apparently it didn't register with you that's what I meant when I said "I'm an independent." Maybe you can tell me what you think being an independent means since you seem to be so upset with my statement?
  4. You're confusing me with someone else...
  5. I wish I had that automatic response: "you're an idiot." I never said I'm not a liberal--I'm not a democrat you dolt. It's become a party that caters to wall street and silicon valley, not average Americans. Since when does being an independent mean you must be conservative? To me, being an independent doesn't mean you lean one way or another, it means you don't want to be associated with the two-party system. I despise Nancy and Chuck. I also hold some views that are consistent with libertarians, like legalizing drugs and being anti-war, for example. Go back and read what I said which was "I can laugh at both parties."
  6. Hahaha...funny stuff. The difference is the things that can be outsourced and manufactured in China vs what can't. The one exception is the monopolistic textbook market. I stopped requiring new books about 10 years ago and have students buy used copies from Amazon for $10...
  7. I was going to ask DR what he thought about this in the other thread...
  8. I'm betting it's a ruse, and they are hoping Clev goes after him so they can get who they really want. Assuming they trade up.
  9. Easy for you to say, you have a Tombot that automatically deals with stupidity...
  10. I'm a registered independent. I'm guessing you're a registered a$$ hole.
  11. I'm not complaining about the deficit, just pointing out the republican hypocrisy. In fact, in my view, trump's expansionary policy is somewhat similar to what Bernie would've done, only Bernie would've targeted the working class not Trump's class. Progressives have argued that the bargaining power of workers has been beaten down for 30+ years. The only way to support wage growth is to boost the economy when it's close to full employment (or raise the minimum wage). The problem is, as I posted before, higher wages will stoke inflationary pressures causing the Fed to raise rates higher and faster than expected, bringing about the next recession, most likely in 2019 (this made meazza whinge about me wanting to hurt people for political reasons as trump would not be reelected under this scenario--answering your question here buddy). ?
  12. Of course not, they are the party of tax and spend. The issue is most republicans claimed to be fiscally responsible and harangued the Dems over the debt. Its clear, deficits are only an issue to them when it’s politically expedient.
  13. Sorry, I’m an independent. I can laugh at both sides.
  14. I’d like to see that tweeted back! ?
  15. Of course, that's old news that we expect. But you right wingers must be drinking something lately with a lot of o estrogen in it...
  16. Geez, you, meazza, tasker all seem a little sensitive. Tom, say something to restore my faith in this place...
  17. Does her joke hurt your feelings? What happened to you guys on the right? You're turning into liberals...
  18. I was responding to the budget agreement just passed which raised spending. Added to the tax cut, and where's that fiscal responsibility they were so concerned about when Barry was president? You're throwing in a totally different discussion and calling me intellectually dishonest...takes one to know one I guess...
  19. non sequitur
  20. Imagine that, the republicans are hypocrites too...
  21. Taking the family to Scotland this summer. My consolation is I get to play a course on my bucket list, Royal Dornoch (I've played the Old Course and Carnoustie before). It's going to be an expensive round when all is said and done...
  22. Does this apply to a certain Twitterer in Chief too?
  23. Looks like all those minimum wage hikes that kicked in last month worked well...
  24. You don't think Nancy looks fresh? I love the smell of plastic in the morning...
  25. As I saw more and more interviews of Shady, I really got to like him. He seems like a good and entertaining guy to go hang out and have some beers with.
