You do realize the latter is the average forecast of about 60 economists? By my count, about 20% predicted 3% or more for 2018.

There are a lot of positives underlying the data. The main issue, which Trump or any president can't fix short term, is that strong consumer spending raises the trade deficit which acts as a drag on the observed growth rate. As I mentioned about the tax plan, the tax cuts should push growth into the 3-4% range this year.

I don't know that he'll be asked to take a pay cut. He and Kyle (and Wood) are appreciated for their leadership as you state, and it takes a few years to really ingrain the culture they desire. I'm sure McD would love to have Kyle and Lo back for one more year.

This morning Beane essentially provided the reasons for the big trades. when discussing Watkins, he mentioned whether a player wanted to re-sign and at what cost; with Darby he mentioned scheme fit; then said Dareus has been discussed ad nauseam. He didn't state these explicitly, rather he was making a general point that trades have different circumstances, then blurted out different possible reasons that just happened to coincide with the particular player mentioned. I think those coincidental reasons are consistent with what many have argued here. The important factors driving decisions: culture, scheme, and cap management. Darby was a scheme/culture casualty; Sammy and Dareus were culture/cap casualties.

He tied for the team lead in sacks playing in only 10 1/2 games. He's no Von Miller or Joey Bosa, but he gives above average pass rush ability and run D. I will be shocked if either Lawson or Hughes is gone, though Beane has certainly done some shocking trades. I seem them keeping both and drafting a pass rusher early since they need reinforcements there.

Yes, the Bills have shown they are tough team, and they accomplished a miracle feat after getting rid of some of their (perceived) top talent. I'm all on board, but they still need an infusion of talent at some key positions. I think we can "win the off-season!"

From what we know right now, it will be tough to win more than 3 away games next year.
