  1. As does Wall Street and their focus on short-term profitability. Any idiot CEO can increase profits by moving overseas...
  2. Don’t confuse free trade in goods with labor arbitrage.
  3. Haven't seen it, but I'm assuming you mean that in a good way? Bannon was one of a few in the administration that I liked, at least in terms of his economic populism. Now there's no one left who can keep Trump focused on that.
  4. And we're talking about a guy who did this in college. He's an idiot now, so what do you think he was like back then? I know there are a few conservatives who claimed to be leftist/Marxists in their youth. That said, the communist bogeyman is dead. We're on to the evil Putin now, whatever he represents...
  5. I'd have to disagree with this too. He voted for the candidate from the party. If I vote for the republican candidate or the Green Party candidate in the general election (as I have), it doesn't make me a member of either party. I agree with your other qualifications, though, he is a liar and a traitor....
  6. What's a "legit communist"?
  7. They still have a lot of work on building and maintaining the roster. As noted in the thread, there are a lot of their own players with contracts expiring, and they still have some holes. In addition to the usual back-fill--signing veterans or current depth players whose contracts are expiring, I would guess they will be a little more active than they were this year, but more focused on the O. The big splashes were Star and Murphy. I could see them shelling money out on KB, trying to improve the O-line, and solving (longer term) the other CB position. I think this will be the last season for Kyle and Zo. Other changes will depend on how some players perform this year (Guys like Clay and Lawson, for example). Given what Brandon has said about the cap, I do not foresee them getting into "Cap Hell" again.
  8. I thought last year was extremely difficult to predict due to the coaching changes, and stated they would win somewhere between 4 and 10 games. This year they have a really rough schedule, along with the uncertainty at QB and offense in general. I think the D will keep them in most games, but the O is a big ???? That said, I will find it very hard to be disappointed by this team under McD. While there may be a game or two where they come out flat, they will mostly "give it their all." I recall being at games and seeing players simply going through the motion and wondered why I wasted my money on those bums. This team is a pleasure to watch now.
  9. Actually, this is the money quote from the ideologue Moore: This year's April revenue is based on the old tax rates. Then there's the leap to my favorite type of argument: growth increased based on "anticipation"...cue Carly Simon.... We're seeing exactly what I predicted: tax cuts and increased spending are raising economic growth. The second quarter GDP growth estimate will give us a much better idea of their impacts.
  10. I wonder if TBD had any influence, especially since the new sports editor seems to visit here often...? My view was that sports departments work using the good cop-bad cop model: Bucky and Sully were of course the bad cops, and Skurski, Gaughan, and Carucci the good cops.
  11. Here's a former B-News reporter's take on what's happening in general, but directly focused on Bucky, Sully, and Vogl. http://www.dailypublic.com/articles/05302018/whats-happening-buffalo-news
  12. They've fixed a few things, but they still lack depth at the CB position. If one of Davis or White go down, who is the back up?
  13. You are correct, It is the one I'm thinking of. Found this collection of articles in a search, and the person I was thinking of is the Johnny Gosch/Jeff Gannon character described about half way down. http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/Franklin/FranklinCoverup/franklin.htm
  14. I'm pretty sure it was DC-centered. Maybe it was the Foley thing in 2000s? I'll do some searching...
  15. This pedophile/sex thing reminded me of a scandal back in the 1980s, I think it was. It seemed things were going to explode, then it quietly disappeared. Maybe I'm wrong about the time period? Despite how little info I can provide, does this ring a bell for anyone? I recall there were several scandals with "pages", but this one had a very strange character involved, connected to a politician(s)...?
  16. And my interpretation is anything right of Bernie is right--Hillary is yours!
  17. I think you mean the center. The left is the group taking on the DNC/DCCC.
  18. The protests occur on Fridays, and they continued yesterday.
  19. I thought poyer was the better safety in the second half of the season, and I won’t be surprised if he’s the pro bowler this year.
  20. There are some interesting prospects, but outside of KB, no one really proven. I'm in a wait and see mode, as Daboll's offense and a QB who can see the middle of the field could change things, as you noted in the OP.
  21. Holy ****! Pretty clear how Brandon and Whaley were viewed.
  22. BB.com linked a Bleacher Report article that describes Edmunds as follows: “Think of Edmunds as a Rob Gronkowski who wants to hit people.” i think this is totally unfair to Gronk. He loves to hit people, as long as they are 100 lbs lighter and face down on the ground...
  23. I miss Rex as much as I miss my ex-wife. Unlike the Bills, I’m no longer paying for my mistake...
