Yes, essentially what he did the last game would help lock it up. It's not the big play he needs to show, it's the ability to sustain drives and operate the O.

The real question is “how will tbd react when Allen lays that first egg”? As all QBs do...

As I've said to my wife since this started, they won't find anything substantive about Russia, but they will dig up lot of financially-related dirt. While this would probably be true of 99% of D.C., it's especially the case with Trump and his ilk. And as I've stated here before, it would be very easy to trap Trump in a perjured statement if he testified, but it won't be related to Russian interference (though there could certainly be financial connections to his real estate interests), which is essentially what happened with Clinton's BJ and Whitewater. This is why I replied to Joe that hypocrisy goes both ways.
-
It works both ways Joe. Again, I would not use progressives to describe the group behind this, it's the centrists--the so-called deep state goes across political lines. Aaron Mate is cited in the piece, a real progressive who has continually questioned the Russia narrative, but he's also not a member of the MSM.

THE FINAL 53 CHALLENGE: Results are In!!!

kudos to those who were brave enough to select prior to the final preseason game. I'll wait for Sunday's game myself.... -
I enjoyed seeing Frazier complementing McD's culture message. Relatedly, There was a point where Beane asked if there was anyone in the D-line room (I believe) who wasn't a culture fit. They aren't screwing around.
-
He's criticizing the people who say it's going to be a top 5 or 10 D, who also say this without seeing a few games first. He raises legitimate questions, for once.....
-
18th in points and 26th in yards. You want to focus on points. Will they have as much success in takeaways? Will the O be worse in TOs with a new QB, because that will also play into Ppg given up. I think They will be better, but I don’t think they will jump to top 5. Even Top 10 would be a Great Leap Forward. I hope it happens.
-
This time I actually agree, especially when I see people saying top 5, or even 10. This D was 26th in yards last year. They will be better, and a jump up to the middle IS a significant jump. Top 5 is dreaming, especially when you look at lack of depth in a couple key spots.

Joe B: 53 Man Roster Projection - Final
TPS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The first part of the explanation for keeping Coleman (Beane values his picks) is pretty weak. A 7th round pick in 2020 is about as close to 0 as you can get on the trade value charts... -
Sean McDermott is the most annoying kind of person.

The most Annoying thing to me is that I can’t find out if there’s an afterlife until after life...☹️ Mcdermott is probably next on my list... -
That's understood. My question is, did Daboll purposely run a dink and dunk offense to test him? Gunner thinks it was the D. I think that's partially it, but I think Daboll also wanted to see him manage a drive (or two)...?
-
When Allen came in I kept hoping to see him sling one downfield, but it never came. It got me thinking, did McDaboll purposely want To see Allen be a game manager and "run" the offense, and not be the gunslinger in this game? We all know neither AJ or Nate can make the deeper passes that JA can, but can Josh be the game manager that Nate and AJ are known for? Josh showed this ability in Game 2. now it could've just been the Browns D that prevented longer throws, but it is preseason where you want to see certain things. It's this aspect of the game that requires Allen's "development," and it's the reason I've believed he will not start right away. The fact that he showed this ability changes things, but it's only one game. If he can show this ability again in Game 3, then I think McDaboll's decision will be made.

Before we put too much stock in this pre-season...

If everyone realizes it, thenwe wouldn't see so many rush to make judgments when there Is a bad play or plays. Edmunds is a good case from this game. Proehl was written off as an NFL Caliber player after game one. The latter is a perfect case for people making judgments on what we only get to see in the preseason games, as Joe B has him making the 53 based in what he's also doing in practices. What Allen has done in the games is encouraging, but it's only one piece to evaluating him and everyone else. ok, just realized the Joe B 53 I referenced was fromJune, so I'll temper the Proehl comment and note that he did much better in game 2. -
As I said, don't be so quick to judge him....

Man, I wonder what this place will be like when Allen lays that first egg....? -
Not sure what they see in Ducasse

It’s interesting how quickly opinions swing in the preseason. Last week they were ok, this week it’s a train wreck. They will be much like last year, better at run blocking than pass blocking. That said, I think Teller will take over at some point during season. -
I agree there are differential impacts, but there is no overall decline in employment. I think the more important point is that If you really want to help workers, you try to maintain full employment. Trump’s policies at this stage of the business cycle is really interesting (to me) in that respect.

No. I’m saying the macro effect of higher wage income which increases sales tends to be greater than the micro effect of higher costs.
-
Which capitalism has done since the beginning. One of the reasons economic growth was sluggish is low/stagnant wages, so there’s little incentive for labor-saving technology. Trumps jucing the economy with tax cuts and spending increases should raise productivity for exactly the reasons you describe, and it’s not just min wage hikes, it’s labor scarcity as tasker mentioned.
-
Yes, higher wages raises consumption spending.
