  1. First thought reading the thread title: Old Farmer's Almanac. No better reading material for taking a ****.
  2. U2 is at the top of my list of musical acts I still haven't seen. Along with Frankie Valli. Odd combo, I know! I saw Bruce this past winter at the Arena - he definitely puts on a great show.
  3. Best: The Stones at the Ralph last summer. A close 2nd would be Sir Paul at the Arena. Both absolutely phenomenal. Worst: Stevie Wonder at the Arena, about a month after Paul's show.
  4. If I see one, I am going to beat the !@#$ out of it. Absolutely hate clowns.
  5. It's reasonable, and appropriate, to expect fans at a game to stand for big moments. It is unreasonable to stand for the whole game, regardless of what's happening on the field. What is reasonable and what is optimal (everyone being equal height, age, and capacity) are unfortunately incongruous.
  6. I am 26 years old, in great shape, and able to stand for several hours. It is ridiculous to stand throughout an entire game. I am 6'4," and the people standing behind me are likely unable to see over me. Third downs, big plays, anticipated big plays, last two minutes of a tight game, opening kickoffs, etc. are appropriate. Whole game is not. Personally, I've found that watching the game in my own living room, in my recliner, with my own food and a crackling fire in the fireplace is much more enjoyable than attending a game with the morons at the stadium.
  7. I legitimately laughed so hard at this I thought I was close to breaking a rib.
  8. Unfortunately the 1st Amendment doesn't prohibit private entities from restricting speech.
  9. This. Watch the game tape, try to figure out went wrong, and try to improve for the next time.
  10. About twelve years ago, my family and I were having dinner at Scotch N' Sirloin Restaurant on Maple Road. My brother was sitting across from me, and he spotted Van Miller over my shoulder. We weren't completely sure it was him until we heard that distinctive voice say, "I'll have the chicken cordon bleu." As a 13-year old, and already a big Bills' fan, I was eager to meet him, but didn't want to interrupt his meal. I saw him go to the salad bar, and I introduced myself, and that it was a pleasure to meet him. He was very kind. Later on that evening, we were preparing to leave, and my mom wanted to say a kind word to him, and how much meeting him meant to me. He then unexpectedly LAUNCHED into the following play call, right there in a packed restaurant: "[insert name here] breaks through at the 40, the 30, 20, 10, 5, touchdown! And the Bills have won the Superbowl!!" Everyone in the restaurant was looking over in awe, and I could not believe what I was hearing/witnessing: Van Miller put my name in a play call that won the Bills the Super Bowl. One of the most memorable moments of my entire life.
  11. I can't thank you enough for posting this. I'm in law school currently, and it would've been nearly impossible to purchase them when they went on sale to the general public on Monday morning. I'll be three sections over from ya!
  12. Voted no. Will this serve as conclusive evidence that Trent Dilfer is not an elite QB?
  13. I agree with the OP. Acquire another power tailback, draft a monstrous guard or two, a blocking TE, and a fullback. Then run it down their !@#$ing throats. Although, personally, that is my favorite offense to watch. So I may be a bit biased.
  14. I recall reading a print article in the summer of 1998 that speculated about the Bills moving to Los Angeles. I was 8 years old at the time, already a huge Bills fan. I can remember feeling overwhelming disbelief at the thought it could actually happen. Since then, I've never forgotten reading that article. And it has always been a concern in the back of my mind. I'm now 24 years old, in my second year of law school (no chance my Evidence reading is getting finished today- hope I'm not cold-called), and this is one of the best days of my life. I wish I still possessed that article, so I could ceremonially burn it. I don't have tickets for Sunday - I should've mentioned I am a poor law student - but I will be there in spirit. This is the first home opener I'll miss in quite some time. What are the freakin' odds?! Anyway, thank you, Ralph. Thank you, Mary Wilson. And thank you to the Pegulas!
  15. Not totally deflected, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed.
  16. Would be a hell of a celebration at the home opener if they selected Pegula before September 14th.
  17. I wonder if Pegula will purchase the remaining tickets.
  18. Mrs. Doubtfire. Was only three years old when it was released, but enjoyed it several times as a kid throughout the '90's. Whenever it's on TV, I'll watch it over almost anything else.
  19. That would also be my guess. Get as many bids as possible to drive the price up, then pick the bidder(s) with the highest bid that will keep the team in Buffalo/WNY.
