  1. I’m sorry, your choice of sparrow has eliminated you from the competition. Shame, that bunny is FIERCE! An admirable foe, indeed!
  2. I got hauled in with some friends. Some guy in a gray suit is running toward us down a dirt road. He keeps yelling “DON’T RUN! DON’T RUN!” So we ran. We were shooting cans with a Beebe gun. We had no idea he was from the brutal Williamsville Police Department, or that he had fellow cops in other cars waiting exactly where we would come out. I could have saved myself a half mile sprint and a hurdle over a barbed wire fence a bit taller than I was comfortable with. After we figured we had left the fat old man in the gray suit in the dust, we settled down on the slope of a hill in some tall grass. We are young and trying to catch our breath, and the fat old man is history. We are still breathing heavy when the other guys in uniform came over the other side if the hill. They asked “why did you run?” My buddy unwisely asked “why did you follow us?” 😂 So we went out in the back of the patrol car past everyone who emptied the community pool to see the police cars leave the neighborhood. Not OJ in the Bronco, but impressive at my then age. My parents picked me up at the pokey after dinner, I think. No TV for me that night. Probably much like the stories @Levi will tell you.
  3. He will be one more of those guys who make an absolute fortune without ever becoming a big name. Good for him! I’m sure he’d rather get his shot, but this is not a shabby deal to set you up before you hit 35. I guess the real key is, can you add to that after football? Or do you basically have to live off of that like a scratch off ticket. At this rate, it will be his decision. I’m cool with that.
  4. She’s got a bit of a hormone issue, but who am I to judge?
  5. We had an interesting experience with our son at rehab. It was a “nice one” in Minneapolis called Hazelden. One weekend they brought in some young folks who had been there a while and had at least tasted sobriety. I’ll never forget one kid, top of his class and a 4 or 5 star football recruit with a full ride to Penn State. Maybe partially a plant, but he seemed incredibly sincere and said basically everybody takes too much credit and too much blame for what we kids do. We are going to do what we are going to do. Sure, we listen some, but then we do what we are going to do. I don’t know how much support Johnny had, or what the quality of that support was. I do know that sometimes there is just stuff that nobody else has control over.
  6. I prefer “What’s your favorite color?” That would up my odds. EDIT: Curious who gets the reference. I’m not the only old fart here! 😂 .
  7. It has to be the most overlooked position in the history of Buffalo Bills football. I know some with throw out some names going back to the beginning, but we now have not one but TWO guys who will be in the Bills all-time upper echelon (IMO). I know the game has changed, but it’s the first time we can really feel good about the position.
  8. Sadly, my son would agree with you. Just on the basic principle of bashing Basham. And it drives me CRAZY! 😂
  9. This is so priceless I’m putting it here for anyone who missed it the first time around! 😂 I have watched it multiple times, and it keeps getting funnier!
  10. I look at that and wonder how many parking spaces it used to be. That’s my first thought. It will be interesting when we have a full house to see how the parking and traffic are affected.
  11. Taping the “kick me” post-it note sign on his back was bad enough. Stapling it on there was crossing a line, IMO. But I get it, things get intense sometimes in the break room. .
  12. A bit fuzzy on the family tree, are we? Fitz thinks disconnecting the beard from the chest hair looks funny.
  13. One of the most important things we can possess is knowledge. Good for you!
  14. OK, I know just enough to be dangerous when it comes to bipolar. Isn’t a HUGE part of the battle proper diagnosis? It seems to get thrown around a lot with some people we know, but it’s always an iffy gray area. It seems like if properly diagnosed and medicated it’s a world of difference! But the proper diagnosis is rare or slow to come. Trickier than other stuff? EDIT: And then get people to STAY on their meds. .
  15. OK, I just saw the news on this. They say the conservatorship was signed after he turned 18, and is still in place. Barring some shocking news, that ain’t right. What happened during the conservatorship will be up for scrutiny, but I doubt they were trying to milk this homeless kid they brought into their uber-affluent home.
  16. We don’t know what the paperwork says, nor what he was told about the paperwork. So, basically, we know nothing. His word is one thing, theirs is probably another. The truth is usually in the middle somewhere. If I missed stuff, my apologies. I’m open to what we know FOR SURE. Not emotional reaction.
  17. Michael Irvin was just holding his for a friend, trying to help him out. ‘Cause, you know, best friends return crack pipes later….. when it’s a better idea.
  18. I hope they haven’t had any drowning deaths with those things! Best to use the buddy system lest one might fall forward into an untimely death.
  19. How much did they make? And how much did he make? Did everyone sign off on this? Did someone fail to perform according to the agreement in any way? There is a lot of moral outrage here. If someone could give us the Cliff Notes on the facts and the contracts, that would be helpful.
  20. Yeah, this is not the private jet crowd. Gee, that would suck to go from private jets to the rear hump seat in an SUV for 7 hours in just a few years!
  21. I’m just glad to verify for others that it is NOT Peter Pan. You’re welcome. 😋
  22. Absolutely. This had to have started out as a real and genuine life changing gesture. Of that I have no doubt. As others have said, they had all the money they needed. We don’t know what happened behind the scenes, but this started as an incredibly kind act. Did they later squabble over some terms in the movie deal? Very possible but that was WAY down the road. Things go sideways sometimes, even with all kinds of families.
  23. I’m not taking a side on this, I simply don’t know enough of the facts. Who did they lie to, and what lies were told? Who did they deceive? How did those conversations go? I have no idea, so like so many topics I’ll just wait to see how it shakes out. He was a big kid, but far from a guaranteed NFL millionaire as a high schooler. They were certainly comfortable, so I doubt this was all about he long game and the movie deal. PowerBall has odds like that. All I know is what the movie wanted me to know, but I doubt that is enough to have a firm conviction.
  24. You made me think of something I’ve seen a lot more of up north - professional lifelong bartender. Guys who get established and stay at one place forever. Heck, I’d get there once a year, maybe, and I got to know who some of these guys are. And they REALLY know their regulars. It is like Cheers! I’ve not experienced as much of that in the south. I know it exists, but not the same way.
  25. Bologna? Maybe they should give him free Taco Bell for life? Would that be a good thing or cruel and unusual punishment? 🤷‍♂️
