  1. Are they still doing that zone? That was tedious to me.
  2. Yep! I dropped him off at the dorm in Tallahassee and helped him move in as a freshman. When he was doing his graduate year we told him we were meeting friends there for a football game, will you be around? He’s the independent type, we had not been back to Tallahassee since I moved him in 5 years earlier. It was fun to take all his buddies out for dinners and getting to know them. A lot of great stories, and pretty much all the guys in his weddings a few years later.
  3. I’m breathing again….I think….
  4. We took our son on a tour of UGA during “decision time”. He loved it. So did I. It was his first choice, but he didn’t get in. We knew multiple people who got in with lower GPA’s and SAT’s. Plus, he was POY as QB of the football team, all area in every sport, and did a ton of volunteer work. I ran into a guy at a bar who did interviews for acceptance at UGA. He said if my son had checked a box saying he was 50% Lebanese he would have been at the top of the pile for acceptance. My SIL went to Vandy and did admissions there as well as Wharton and Penn State. She says that’s how it works, they have different buckets to fill. Our son went to FSU, and his wife went to UGA. We got it covered! EDIT: My FIL ruled on that decades ago, they would not seek an advantage, even if it meant reducing his own kids tuition. I admired that man.
  5. College football is everything in the South. The people who have been here for generations and have roots have a college team and they own it proudly. The other people are generally here for a career (as we are and our son is), and they come from all over the place. They have no allegiance to any local NFL or NBA team. I think “we’ve” lost hockey twice? On the flip side, the MLS games ROCK! Everybody has fun at those games! I guess it’s high energy and nobody has “a team” already. MLS is its own thing, and very cool. .
  6. McNeese State just has better athletes and basketball players than Clemson. I’m curious to see who they play and how they look in the next game. Or is Clemson (and the ACC) just that weak? Oh my! Apparently not! The good thing is, if it’s not UGA FOOTBALL, it is just a minor sadness…..if the people around here notice at all. At least they are not that NFL Falcon team. It’s extremely rare to see Falcon gear in Atlanta. I mean, yes, it happens, but I’ve also seen a Painted Bunting outside my kitchen.
  7. It just keeps going, and I just keep telling people to ignore him. He’s trying to enflame people. Let him die on the vine.
  8. I enjoyed that thoroughly, as a BE guy. As a Xavier guy, it was even sweeter.
  9. Thank you! I just sighed and asked myself “am I going to have to do this?” But here we are! I always root for the dark color jerseys the first weekend, unless it’s a Xavier game! At the moment, I am LOVING McNeese St taking it to Clemson. My FIL played football for the Gamecocks in the waaaay back, so a long shot beating Clemson would be awesome! BTW - When did they start interviewing players at halftime? I thought that was just a coach thing. I am all BE all day! My peeps! (Please bring in lots of cash.)
  10. ….or, he’s just trolling. Either way, it’s just not worth it.
  11. He’s just intentionally ignoring that there is a psychological aspect to rape that goes far beyond the physical. I suggest ignoring him, then maybe he’ll just go away.
  12. ….and if you don’t, maybe we know why.
  13. My BIL had his car stolen with everything he owned in it while traveling for medical school interviews. He even had wrapped Christmas presents in there. He laughs about that now. Not the same thing at all.
  14. I wish Rafa Nadal could keep his shorts out of his crack. He did a LOT of fidgeting! Love Rafa, but that was an annoying routine! I think he was worse than Sergio Garcia gripping, then re-griping, then re-griping his club. I think it was Tiger who said “Oh, you just can’t watch. You have to turn away until you hear the ball being struck.” You couldn’t let him pollute the area between your ears.
  15. Somebody should have thought of this sooner!
  16. I’m sure something, some where, some time came in on budget, right? Yeah….probably not and especially if the government was involved in any way.
  17. If you’re not kicking the can a bit you’re not trying!
  18. If I get to attend I’m going with the French Open. Tennis and Paris all wrapped up in one? Sign me up!
  19. I hope for his sake that a change of scenery and new voices coaching him help. At times he just looked nervous as hell out there to me, knowing they were going to come at him. My older son had that look in HS when they played Pahokee and their future NFL players in the state playoffs. Scared as hell I tell you! 😂 He’s got physical tools, but maybe he needs some peace between his ears.
  20. Now all the 335 lb guys are in the stands. 😊 As we’ve seen a resurgence with RB’s, I wonder if that leads to a resurgence of the fat guy?
  21. Did you ever consider she might want you dead? 🤷‍♂️
  22. I prefer football being played outside, unless it means me sitting there being miserable. Then my couch is the more attractive option. There is a reason I try to go to the home opener (or another early season game). Nasty weather was part of the fun when I was a kid. I’m not a kid any more.
  23. Don’t feel down about this. I’m sure there are plenty of other people who would like to smack you with a stick, or worse.
  24. Is this where we repeat them or start them? Almost the same thing. 🤷‍♂️
  25. I think ALL boys that age need some tutoring. I was kinda lost at that age…..but I was eager to learn!
