Corey Davis absent from practice Wednesday
MR8 replied to Gamache518's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah but there were reports Zay was developing chemistry with Allen in the off-season and we all saw how that played out lol. Most of these reports from practice are just like the ones from camp, largely space filler for beat reports during the week. Some are true, most are fluff. -
Corey Davis absent from practice Wednesday
MR8 replied to Gamache518's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
COREY DAVISWR, TENNESSEE TITANS Corey Davis (undisclosed) was sidelined for Wednesday's practice. It could very well be nothing, but it's at least worth monitoring heading into Thursday since Davis isn't a usual Wednesday rest candidate. Delanie Walker (ankle) was sidelined, too. Davis should be fully entrusted as a WR3 against Tampa Bay's pass funnel if he's good to go for Week 8. I'll put on my tin foil hat and say.... yes... we are sniffing around and they put him in moth balls to keep him from getting hurt. -
This is a freaking mess for the NFL. I am certain there will be an investigation, and I am equally certain the general public will never know the full picture because the NFL Will kick it under the carpet so no one judges them for doping up players so they keep playing despite bad injuries... a practice that's gone on for decades, and the NFL has been sued over numerous times. I don't trust the team doctors at all, but if his health situation was in question so much that he sought out 3 different independent medical opinions, there is 1) obviously something wrong there, and 2) he was looking for a doctor who agreed with him. If the team doctors and the first 2 independent doctors told him he could play, but the third said he needed surgery and scheduled it immediately, then sounds to me like he wanted to shut it down and have surgery. Now to be 100% honest, I am fine with that. Just because the Team doesn't agree, doesn't mean the dude wasn't in an extreme amount of pain and didn't need surgery. It just means they wanted him to play through it and he didn't want to. I feel bad for the guy that they're going after him for wanting to do what's right by his body. It's not like this is elective surgery like having a nose job lol. He should be the one to determine if the pain is too much for him to play out the season, not the team. The team pressuring him is a TERRIBLE look regardless of how the process all played out. And if there is any truth to them just doping up players to get them ready to play regardless of injuries, then they should be fined and penalized at least a draft pick. Yeah I think it's highly unlikely they'd open themselves up to this kind of lawsuit... I don't doubt maybe they sent the wrong thing at some point, but no way it was intentional. At best that kind of tactic may be able to delay surgery for what? A day? A Week? There are still 9 weeks left in the season, it's not like they thought they could pull a fast one by sending the wrong MRI and get this guy to play out the year lol. This sounds like a lot of leaks from the player to smear the team. AGAIN I don't doubt the team did some shady ***** with giving him drugs to mask the pain and asked him to play through it, but I have such a hard time believing all the stuff coming out, it's just insane... if it's true then so be it and the Jets are a DISASTER and a bunch of ***** bags... but I just can't believe it without some sort of proof.

Levi Wallace against bigger, stronger receivers
MR8 replied to WideNine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the Bills will look for a CB in the next few years in the draft in the event they can't keep White (which not doing so would be a mistake)... I bet we use a 1st or 2nd in the next 2 years on another CB. McDermott's D needs at least 1 lock down corner, and White is that, but I see then planning just in case they can't keep him. Outside of that Levi is fine, he's not amazing, but he's fine. It's harder than it sounds to have 2 CBs like White since he's top 5 in the NFL. -
Oh my god, I got someone on the internet to say I was right... I may retire ?
-
Still better than the Dolphins, Skins, and Bungles.... and he's still in the NFL... That was the point, your hyperbole about his lack of skills are obviously not shared in NFL circles. Thanks for the input though.

Hmmmm.... Giants signed LB Deone Bucannon. The 2014 first-round bust was waived by the Bucs 13 days ago. In theory, 27-year-old Bucannon brings versatility to a defense. In reality, he will probably begin as a healthy scratch and is unlikely to make it more than a few weeks in the Big Apple. SOURCE: Jordan Raanan on Twitter Oct 22, 2019, 4:14 PM ET

The guy that caught Allen's throw into the stands

I disagree, there was some flutter to it when watching it from the side, I think he could get it there. -
The guy that caught Allen's throw into the stands
MR8 replied to Pokebball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude has more yards on that catch than Zay Jones did! Oh he definitely was trying to get it out, he picked the spot between the box and WOF with the lowest bleachers (still super high lol), and he gave it a good go. I bet he could do it, I was in that end zone in the handicapped seats and it fluttered a bit... he gets a tighter spiral it carries out of the stadium. -
The same people slamming PFF in here are also the people that would've posted this and pounded their chests if Allen was 1st.

Sanu sucks...

Lol, he's not a starter, he'd be rotational at best, but his athleticism and skills got him taken in the 1st round. The guy is much better than you're giving him credit for. He's well worth a flier on a FA signing with no risk. Yeah, Vosean Joseph, I was hoping they'd carry him onto the season so they could designate him to return, but I guess you don't do that with depth guys. He was a bit out matched in preseason before getting hurt. I think the game was moving a bit too fast for him. No way to know if it would've caught up by now, but he's a fantastic athlete as well. For now though they do need to get someone on the roster who can run better and be a coverage LBer like Milano... obviously not as good as Milano, but someone who can spot fill as needed. They love guys with diverse skill sets. I mean in a pinch Buchannon can also play safety, I am not sure how good he's been on special teams though and that cold be the real question to his value. I need to do some research on that side of his game. See if there are reports from his time in Arizona.

I understand people's desires to add a "Dominant pass rusher" but there aren't a lot of them available, and the ones who are will cost a kings ransom. Moving for a true pass rusher is very different than making a move for a WR... I think WR is more realistic because of the cost involved... flat out there are more WRs to go around so the price is cheaper. Could be wrong though...
-
I hope we sign Deone Bucannon sooner rather than later, he's a great fit for our defense in the similar mold to Edmunds and Milano... he's a converted safety with great rangey speed but can also play in the box.

Anyone notice how Fitz attacked that left side?
MR8 replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll steal an oldie.... 2/3 of the earth are covered by water, the other 1/3 is covered by Tre White! (the line used to be about Roy Williams I believe when he was in college) -
There are the common names being kicked around, but I would also reach out to the Chargers for Keenan Allen as they're looking dead in the water this year. I'd also kick the tires with KC for a cheaper option like Demarcus Robinson... they have big money invested in Watkins and Hill, and a high draft pick in Hardman, they likely can't keep them all and they need to add to their defense. I would offer a pick for Robinson that they can flip for help on Defense.

When is Allen going to have "that game", and do you care?
MR8 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lol yeah comparing a guy to a future HOFer I totally have an agenda lol... Funny how my comparison of what a guy could be AT WORST is "inept" when you don't even know the scouting on the guy I'm comparing to. if there is anyone pushing an "agenda" it's not me. Oh and if you take 5 seconds to look backt o how Losman was treated by his coaches, he got a raw shake if I ever saw one He would've been better than Bortles hands down. It wasn't as negative as your took it, I actually really liked JP. So anyt time you want to do a second of research and not just react to names being thrown out and make assumptions you can go ahead. Losman was Allen 15 years ago... Differences are 1 Allen is a much more keen football mind, and is not looked at as arrogant coming in, both were JP flaws. However both were highly debated mobile strong arm project QBs coming out with amazing ceilings and low floors. Losman came into a team with Bledsoe, an established QB all be it a statue at the twilight of his career. Allen was here with Peterman and a journeyman. Losman's showy arrogance got him hurt in TC when Troy Vincent gave him a little "pop" and accidentally broke his leg.... But from then on Losman's development was mismanaged, and frankly the whole front office back then was a tire fire. Allen thank GOD has been much better managed to TRY to protect him from himself and give him chances to succeed. Not saying Losman would've been a god, but he was terribly managed but in their prime I'd take Losman over Bortles or EJ any day. So you, in my estimation are being more insulting than I am to Allen. Also the Steelers brought Roethlisberger along by limiting him to about 20 pass attempts per game for the first few years to allow him to learn, while leaning on the run and D. The Bills are passing more since its a passing league but they're doing something similar as they're using short high percentage passes and relying on the D. It's smart to bring him along slowly.... Something that wasn't property done with Losman or EJ for that matter ... Calling Allen Bortles in any way is a far worse insult in my estimation than calling him JP or EJ. -

MR8 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You remember entirely wrong, he was a mobile QB with incredible arm talent coming out of college. He was considered an "improvisational QB" because hed move out of the pocket to throw or run when protection broke down. I'm not directly saying they're the same since they have some different strengths and weaknesses... Merely pointing out Allen's top and bottom end. I'll be honest people on here love a good comparison butt jump on one that says he'll be bad... You didn't argue that he isn't Rodgers despite the insanely large disparity in this two at this point but rather chose to go after my bottom end comparison... To be 100% fair he'll never be EXACTLY Rodgers just like he'll never be EXACTLY Losman, but those are 2 ends of the similar spectrum that Allen is on.
