Why is Eric Bieniemy available as an OC?
The Frankish Reich replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Specifically re: Rex. I pray that he never gets another NFL job. He was a joke in Buffalo, clearly just cashing the checks and doing the minimum by his second year. Sean Payton likes those “blitz from all directions and hit ‘em hard” defenses, and he doesn’t dare hire Gregg Williams again, so here we go. The Rex and Rob show is landing in that mile high air. They’ll both need oxygen. -

There’s that. And the feeling that this is all Andy’s show and Eric is a clipboard carrier. Not gonna lie, there’s maybe a tiny bit of racism there too. And weight-ism. Daboll’s a fat guy (and of course Andy too) but the NFL is moving toward super fit guys. In related news: Sean Payton is said to be considering Rex Ryan for his DC. Fat guy (other than long tenured successful fat guy) = loser franchise. -
Brett Favre suing Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee🤣
The Frankish Reich replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do I have to answer that? Ok, I will. McAfee in something other than the wife beater is preferable to Favre. But Favre on a tractor is worse than McAfee in a wife beater. Kind of a rock-paper-scissors thing. -
I like this fake Damar. Looks like he could hit the weight room and maybe even make the team. Give him number 3A, as in Alternate.

I don’t have time to dredge them up now, but equally fair are the old articles questioning Biden’s bs stories — the Wash Post actually did one about the infamous face-off he had with the legendary “Corn Pop” (conclusion: there was a person known by that name, but no one remembers young Joe going mano-a-mano with him)—and articles about Bill Clinton putting a spin on his personal story. All successful politicians do this. They write books that nobody reads—books that are a blend of half-baked policies (“we need an America that works for the American people” or something similarly vacuous) and embellished personal narrative (you’ve got to “overcome obstacles” even if you were born into wealth and privilege). By the way, the Wash Post said nothing about Luna being anything other than a waitress at a gentlemen’s club. Others have reported that she may have done other things there too, and it’s not a wild fantasy given that it coincided with a time in her life when she was modeling for men’s magazines, etc. Someone here suggested that I was saying she was a prostitute. No, unless you think everyone who may have modeled in a bikini is a prostitute; I will grant you that others may be more familiar than me with that whole scene. -

Because I read it, and it was fair. I assume you're only reading criticisms of it - much like this criticism of a WP article on Tim Scott (I'll read that one and I'll let you know). This is kind of like reading movie reviews, not seeing the movie itself, and then having an opinion about the movie. Are you saying my wife was a "waitress" in a "gentlemen's club?" -

I’m sure you didn’t read the Wash Post piece, because I’m sure you never read the Wash Post. It was a fair piece. She is a bullish!!!er in an old fashioned, pre-Santos way, playing up her Hispanic heritage when it benefits her (in Florida) and playing down her prior job (ostensibly “waitress” but others suggest a bit more) in a gentlemen’s club. And playing down her middle class upbringing. Like I said: garden variety politician spin on her background. Maybe Biden-esque if you will. Definitely not Santos magnitude, but then who is …. It’s an interesting piece because it sheds light not just on her, but on the kind of biography Republicans so deperately desire in order to anoint a new “rising star.” Full disclosure: yes, the hottest woman in Congress. And it’s not even close. -
Well let’s just say I’ve got a few years on you. And I’m enjoying these Bills seasons after the two decade drought. For me it’s more like another multi-year rebuild would just cause me to lose interest. Maybe forever. If you stay really good and are always winning your division or coming close, that Saints/Brees or Colts/Manning or Giants/Manning or Packers/Rodgers or Steelers/Ben year will come, and you will get that SB parade you’ve been waiting for all your life.

I’m not sure “the process” is to continually improve the team. The team is already pretty damn good. Nobody improves over 3 or 4 loss seasons, other than making some moves aimed at getting over the playoff hump. “The process” is to build a team that remains competitive year after year. Not the Rams, throwing it all out there to try to win a SB in a 2-year window and then go straight back into a rebuild. Ideally, a new Pats. More realistically, another Chiefs or Packers. Even more down to earth, a new Panthers. McD and his mentors had that working great until his offensive AND defensive mainstays - Cam and Kuechly - both completely broke down at unusually young ages. I’ve asked it before: all other things being equal, would you give up a decade of playoff appearances for a 2 or 3 year run resulting in one SB win, followed by several really down years? I wouldn’t. I’m happy that the team I love to follow is poised to remain relevant and a SB competitor year after year after year. That SB win didn’t seem to have such a great impact on Rams fans after it was over. In fact, it didn’t even seem to create more Rams fans. They can have that model. I’ll take “the process” - the good with the bad.

Rihanna-A boring halftime performance
The Frankish Reich replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did they book Rihanna NOT knowing she is pregnant? I had no problem with the halftime show. Not really my thing, but my daughter loves her (tried to make her an indie girl and failed miserably), so it was what it was. But it wasn’t what she (or I) would’ve expected of a Rihanna performance. Nobody paid to see it, but if they had it would’ve been kind of false advertising. The kids love the dancing, the wardrobe changes, all that glitz. This was like Rihanna in an oversized red jumpsuit surround by Squid Game type unenergetic dancers. -
Agreed. After seeing what the Bengals middling pass rush did to us, I have to say the Eagles would have eaten our O line alive. And the weird thing is KC had the exact same dysfunctional O line a couple years ago and then completely fixed it in one off-season. Whereas we stand pat, or sub a Saffold for a Boettger.
-
The game is NOT fixed. But on close judgement calls, certain teams and certain QBs and other great players tend to get the benefit of the doubt. And sometimes that’s the difference.
-
He probably lost in some fantasy league. I suspect he’s ok with that.
-
Funny thing is I think Josh would love to have the chance to be in another one of these shootouts, win or lose. The way we went out was deflating. Philly? They can go home feeling great about this season.
-
I feel bad about myself because I laughed at that
-
But wouldn’t Philly “fans” have destroyed even more stuff I they’d won?
-
Yes. He could have. If he had beaten the Bengals and then beaten the Chiefs he probably would have.
-
Utterly deflating. I watch this thing for damn near 4 hours and the teams play to a stalemate. Could be a classic final minute to watch. Oh. Never mind. Defensive hold. Like the World Series Game 7 ending on a questionable balk call.
-
Olsen gets it right …. Why let this super Super Bowl be decided by a cheap defensive hold?
-
And here we go …
-
The guy watching at home (err, playing golf) should be watching and learning. Hurts plays under control, still makes the huge plays. He’s tied for a Super Bowl championship with 5 minutes to go. And he got there a helluva lot sooner.

Leslie Frazier vindicated! You need to score points to win in this NFL. Hold a good offense to 27 …
