RD 2, Pick 59: G O’Cyrus Torrence, Florida
The Frankish Reich replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Osiris is the Egyptian Lord of the Underworld and Judge of the Dead, brother-husband to Isis, and one of the most important gods of ancient Egypt. The name `Osiris' is the Latinized form of the Egyptian Usir which is interpreted as 'powerful' or 'mighty'. He is the first-born of the gods Geb (earth) and Nut (sky) shortly after the creation of the world, was murdered by his younger brother Set, and brought back to life by his sister-wife Isis. -
RD 3, Pick 91: LB Dorian Williams, Tulane

Those 2 sentences are all I will need to read about him. So he sounds like a 3rd rounder. Thanks! -
RD 1, Pick 25: TE Dalton Kincaid, Utah

That's my issue with the pick. Seems like the Bills window of opportunity is as open now as it will ever be, so why not go with an immediate contributor? -
DeSantis For President in 2024?
The Frankish Reich replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Disney will win this lawsuit. It is a classic case of of a targeted action meant to suppress one particular viewpoint. You can't do that. Desantis is a lawyer, and he knows this. But he also knows that "owning the libs" is the way you get attention now in a Republican primary, so he doesn't care. He doesn't even care if it will waste Florida taxpayer's money and cost them lost tax revenue. The Meatball wants to be President, to hell with everything else. -
Toe the party line. Not tow the party line. As in carefully walk the line, not drag the line. Your tweeters need to get edumacated.

Rodgers Traded to Jets Officially
The Frankish Reich replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
True. But again, we aren't talking about Aaron Rodgers replacing Andy Dalton or Mac Jones. Those are ordinary mediocrities, the type teams are always looking to upgrade from. We are talking about this: Zach Wilson: 72.8 QB rating Mike White: 75.7 Joe Flacco: 75.2 Remember how awful Russell Wilson was last year? 84.4 Mac Jones? 84.8 Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers (in either a down season or the start of a decline; the jury is out): 91.1. And that follows MVP seasons of 121.5 and 111.9. So even if he's the 2022 version of Aaron Rodgers, or even if he's somewhat worse than that, the Jets still get better. -

Rodgers Traded to Jets Officially
The Frankish Reich replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right. I'm not all doom and gloom here, but it is now obvious that the AFC East is competitive again. I kind of wish we could have had our 2 decade run of opposition ineptitude like the Pats had. But that was an aberration in the modern NFL. -
Rodgers Traded to Jets Officially
The Frankish Reich replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
We should pray that he isn't that good. Favre took the Jets from being the 25th ranked scoring offense to the 9th ranked. Anything similar to that with Rodgers - and with the Jets defense - would not be a good thing for us. Exactly. We're not talking about replacing some middle of the road QB like Andy Dalton with Aaron Rodgers. We are talking about taking maybe the worst QB room in football and bringing in a guy who was the MVP in 2020 and 2021. He doesn't have to be godlike to make them a lot better. -
What will you do tonight at 8p?
The Frankish Reich replied to SectionC3's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I have no doubt Tucker will make money after Fox. Probably more money. There’s fools right here who’ll be willing to by “Premium Tucker Access” online for $19.95 a month. Or whatever his latest grift may be. But if he had wanted to leave Fox, why on earth did he wait till now? The answer is obvious: because he didn’t want to leave until Uncle Rupert said “time to leave, Tucker.” You burnt testicle fanboys are really under his spell. -
Of course he was. How naive can you be? It’s right there: Rupert Murdoch himself did it. Totally coincidental that he just last week had to pay the largest defamation case judgment/settlement in history. But you go on believing in fairy tales. It must make you feel better about yourself.

Gunner's 2023 Draft Quarterback Evaluations
The Frankish Reich replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well that’s certainly some revisionist history. Or 20/20 hindsight. Or whatever you want to call it. With or Without You, Andrew Luck Edition: - Colts 2011 (Peyton out all year, Suck for Luck): 2-14 - Colts 2012 (Luck arrives): 11-5 - Colts 2017 (Luck out all year): 4-12 - Colts 2018 (Luck comeback): 10-6 - Colts 2019 (Luck shock retirement): 7-9 So value of Luck over a replacement level QB is something like +6 wins per season? We are spoiled in Buffalo now. Depth of the off-season deep thoughts coming… Q. What would we have done with Luck at QB in 2012 instead of Fitz? A. We would have made the playoffs. Probably 10-6. Probably switching places with the Colts, who did make the playoffs with Luck. Chan Gailey would’ve stayed. No Doug Marrone. No EJ Manuel. No Rex Ryan. No Tyrod Taylor. And then Luck would’ve retired on us in 2019, we would’ve tanked, and we would have taken Joe Burrow with the first pick in 2020. And made the Super Bowl in 2021. 🤪 -

Learn how to parse lawyer language. Dominion is saying the firing of Tucker had nothing to do with the settlement of its lawsuit against Fox. In other words: “the firing of any Fox News hosts was not a term of the settlement.” But of course logically it is obviously related. Litigation settled last week, Tucker fired before the beginning of the new week. Remind me to never get lost in your neck of the woods and try to turn around in your driveway. You seem like lots of fun to spend time with. -
Ten Commandments in the classroom in Texas
The Frankish Reich replied to Thurmal34's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Of course it is. The two (Ten Commandments in schools and teaching of “Creation Science”) were part of the same Christian Right agenda 20 years ago. Why would you think anything has changed this time around? -

No. But I do want to see that big Noah’s Ark in Kentucky. Seems like that’s where the ark ran aground. -
You mean the GUY WHO JUST SAID RUPERT MURDOCH HIMSELF PULLED THE TRIGGER? (Oops. You may want to rethink that whole “Tucker voluntarily resigned” thing)

The Frankish Reich replied to Thurmal34's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The whole Ten Commandments in schools/public buildings thing is so 2004. Next up: that other old favorite, equal time for “creationism” and evolution in schools. All while Americans get dumber and dumber. I think I’m going to start the Church of the Golden Calf and demand that schools put my calf statue next to the Ten Commandments. That dance around the calf always seemed a lot more fun than the alternative. -
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president in 2024?
The Frankish Reich replied to JaCrispy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Why not RFK/Tucker? -
Of course he’d have your vote. Because you both hate Trump passionately?
-
The Bernie Bros who then voted for Trump. Many of the "right" posters here who agree with the nuttery RFK Jr. is bringing to the 2024 race. And as my primary exhibit, I give you France: Within the left-wing Nupes grouping, a majority of supporters of the Communist and France Unbowed parties prefer Le Pen, while backers of the Greens and Socialists favor Macron. https://news.yahoo.com/french-poll-finds-far-le-080814247.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuemVyb2hlZGdlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAIMLaoXMUUbLC8XEY_HPBD2OXszmz6NPD6ZSyvs5TYHO8t-jXRCwYKYOMDuz6RSma5ldza0LQUvaOp0lfwMpBd3S8xL7MRK0uIBbZyzJtXn_a7rZwA3of4cmyUsVXUT0lxLgXqADG1GuCqeapvka0-oqgjhFaSEt-3xHDNbEgFEU Remember, these are unabashed Communists. Not what some of our faves here like to call "commies." Real, honest-to-goodness, Workers-of-the-World-Unite Marxist communists. And they prefer an unabashedly right-wing "nationalist" (read: racist) candidate over an (Bill) Clinton-Obama-Biden type democrat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_theory#:~:text=In political science and popular,a horseshoe are close together. In political science and popular discourse,[1] the horseshoe theory asserts that the extreme left and the extreme right, rather than being at opposite and opposing ends of a linear political continuum, closely resemble each other, analogous to the way that the opposite ends of a horseshoe are close together. The theory is attributed to the French philosopher and writer Jean-Pierre Faye.[2] Proponents point to a number of perceived similarities between extremes and allege that both have a tendency to support authoritarianism or totalitarianism.

Not if you're talking about Rusty Kuntz.

Thanks for pulling this info together. Kuntz is really intriguing. How is it that Penn State found no use for him (he transferred to Old Dominion after his junior year). 6'8", 4.55 40?

Tua says he considered retirement

Almost all football players keep going even as permanent damage to their bodies from continuing becomes very likely.
