A great episode all around. When Locke held the lantern up to reveal Claire in the corner of the cabin I had an honest to goodness spooky moment. It's great when a tv show can make the hair on the back of your hands stand up.

Thanks for the promo, Promo. I'm hoping to see it over the weekend and can't wait.

Top 25 Best and Worst Hair Metal Bands
ChevyVanMiller replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
There's a great Buffalo band that plays all the music of that era. That 80s Hair Band The lead guitarist, Jason Newbauer, is a phenom. -
That just goes to show you how the NFL completely overanalyzes everything. Imagine too smart being a detrement. The next time an announcer says, "What they like about this kid is his football smarts," his partner better chime in with "Yeah, but he's not too smart." Sheesh!

Butler's last draft with Buffalo
ChevyVanMiller replied to elegantelliotoffen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looking back that sure was one brutal draft. RIP JB -
You know what I meant. If you're the GM are you thinking, how will I feel if I cut this exemplary young man and he's killed in combat overseas? You know if that happened this board would be filled with posts about how he'd still be alive if he were on the roster. I know if I was the GM it would give me great pause for concern.

Great column in the Buffalo News this morning about the Army FB and the Armed Forces' new rule allowing pro athletes to resist deployment to the Middle East in return for serving as a recruiter. Just wondering: If it came down to Viti and another FB at the end of training camp could the Bills possibly cut the kid knowing that it was a one-way ticket to Iraq?

You had some great lines this week - the JL/Seacrest anticrist and DA's dad giving him the belt being two shining examples. I completely concur that DA has that Deaf nasal monotone sound going often. My wife thinks I'm off-base - glad that someone else hears it also.

I have a few questions about...
ChevyVanMiller replied to BuckeyeBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It did occur to me that a marketing genius like Russ Brandon missed the boat by not continuing the tradition with Berman. It's great PR, that's for sure. -
Don't know how much technology has changed, but for what its worth about a decade ago my buddy's mom used to sit at her scanner and listen to the cordless phone calls made by her neighbors. The neighbors were two college-aged girls that had very active sex lives. The mom said listening to their calls was like having a real-life steamy soap opera to tune into each day. I'd get a landline.

UDFA signings- BILLS ONLY!

I read the first few lines of this report and had an overwhelmng urge to run out and rent a Harvey Fierstein video. Not that there's anything wrong with that. -
Cowherd just gave our draft props!

Your in-depth reporting on just what he said is amazing. Thanks, his words of praise will ring in my ears for days. (Sarcasm on) -

Ownage captured by Google Maps....

I must be the only idiot that can't get this to work. When I drag the guy to a street he just pops back to where he started. What am I doing wrong? -
It's finally here - Christmas morning for football junkies. With all of the depressing talk of the very real reality of the Bills moving away once Ralph kicks the bucket I'm going to go on record with the following vow: No matter what the Bills do today, I'm going to be okay with their decisions. No bitching, no complaining, no "but my Our Lads says this guy is a reach." If the day comes when the Bills are gone, draft day, which I've enjoyed for decades, will be dead to me. So I raise a glass to you my Bills brothers and sisters and stand with you to salute this team that matters to us in the deepest depths of our souls one more time. Salute!

Hypothetical Draft Question
ChevyVanMiller replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You make a valid point, but would those guys all peacefully coexist on one team? For instance, would Rivers be content to sit 3rd on the depth chart? How about Lee as a 3rd down slot receiver? A lot of guys become stars in the league because there is little talent ahead of them on the roster when they are drafted. That wouldn't be the case in this scenario. Plus, there would be no one to pull Rookie pranks. -
Every year as I look at the draft guides I can't help but think that there are a whole host of guys that would help the Bills at various positions. With that thought in mind, here's the question: You are the GM of an expansion team. The NFL gives you two choices to stock your team. The first is the way that it has usually been done - you get the top pick in each round and a supplemental draft where teams have to leave X amount of players unprotected. Or, you can have the first 53 selections in the draft. The only caveat is that you must fill out a standard roster with those picks. For example, you would pick 3 QB's, 4 RB's, 5 WR's etc. You couldn't select the top 10 O-Linemen and then deal them to other teams for players. You'd also be exempted from the salary cap. Would you take that deal? You'd have an all-rookie team, but with higher average picks then the rest of the league by far. Could a team put together like that be exceptional? Btw, I've debated it out and find pros and cons either way.

Mock Draft with a twist
ChevyVanMiller replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you think a 3rd is enough to move back? -
Mock Draft Bills move back and pick WR Devin Thomas It's rare when you find a mock that speculates on trades. It seems reasonable that, considering what the Bills need and where they pick, a trade back could happen. Do you like the scenario that they have here?
