  1. They went with 1 RB because they didn't want to deal with OJ being selected to the team. IMO, that cheapens the whole ordeal. OJ, the football player, was probably the greatest Bill ever. He was a guy that redefined what an NFL Running Back should be. Now, OJ the felon is another matter entirely. For what it's worth I think these sort of things should just look at playing careers and not off-the-field behavior.
  2. Relax, will ya? Most top wideouts don't really produce until year 3. With Owens in for 1 year it should set Hardy up to school behind him and breakout big next season. Btw, your answer, Sweed, had worse stats than Hardy did last year.
  3. I think I also heard that Godell has said that if the schedule is expanded to include more regular season games then the draft would happen on President's Day weekend.
  4. If you're going to shorten Day 1 to 2 rounds why not start at Noon and allow everyone to get done in time for dinner? I liked the old format - was hoping to see it switched back this year. St. Louis should be on the clock. ugh!
  5. If they hadn't signed T.O. it might be a possibility, but there's no way it happens now.
  6. I thought someone would go for opening day of free agency. Must be the James Posey effect.
  7. Of course he's forgetting that the Bills will have traded those two picks to Cleveland for Brady Quinn. Sheesh... Seriously though, I think they'd have to think long and hard about Raji if he's still there at 11.
  8. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=87773 Beat you by 2 hours.
  9. I can only ask 'em when I think of 'em.
  10. I feel like it's Christmas Eve. For me Draft Saturday is the best day of the season - hand's down. With Opening Day running a strong second.
  11. Here's to finally busting your cherry Everything I've read has Drew going in the late rounds. It's great that UB kids are finally getting drafted on a regular basis. I think Willey has a real shot at sticking on a roster. Go Bulls!
  12. I'd be very happy with the first round falling this way, but think the Bills will have to trade up from 28 to nab Pettigrew.
  13. Oh my God. I'm at work and there are tears rolling down my face. I'm trying to talk to clients and had to walk away from my desk. And I'm only 3 pages in. This is by far the funniest thread I've ever read. I both love you and hate you for posting this - you're killing me! "She's a solid 7." "On what, a scale of 7 to 20?"
  14. Now If I could just get them to make all of the urinals the kid variety that are much lower on the wall. I hang into the water otherwise. (rim shot)
  15. Go, Dom, Go! Dominator Unretires
  16. I'll be listening to Dylan's "Rainy Day Woman 12 & 35" on 4/20. 12x35= wait for it...420. Dylan rules!
  17. I honestly hope that the Bills do NOT take a Tackle before the 3rd round. I think that would cheapen the Peters' trade. In essence, you'd then be trading away a proven Vet (last year nonwithstanding) for a rookie that may, or may not, develop. I'd rather see them go DE and TE. Then take the Tackle in the mid-rounds.
  18. Was doing a little research and stumbled across this nugget of bleak Bills' history on wiki. I'm sure that I knew this at one time, but must have blocked it from my memory. Add it to "Wide Right" and "Music City Miracle" in infamous Bills' lore. AFL History The Canadian Defeat The date was August 8, 1961. The AFL, desperate to prove that it was the real deal, challenged the Canadian Football League to an exhibition game. It was decided that the game would be between Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Buffalo Bills. The Bills, who had finished near the bottom of the league in 1960, and Ticats, one of the best teams in the CFL at the time, were chosen because they were geographically close to one another. It was thought that beating a CFL team would prove that the AFL was at least the second-best football league in North America. After all, the NFL had sent several teams against teams from the CFL and had won every game so it was thought that victory against the CFL would be easy. Playing at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario, the game proved to be a disaster for the AFL as the Ticats crushed the Bills 38-21 playing a mix of AFL and CFL rules. The Bills returned to Buffalo and it marked the only time a pro football team from Canada defeated a pro football team from the United States. No team from a U.S.-based football league has since competed with a team from a Canada-based league (U.S./Canadian professional team matchups within one league, however, have happened, such as the Toronto Rifles of the 1960s, the Montreal Machine of the early 1990s and the CFL USA of the mid-1990s). The Tiger-Cats continue to occasionally use this victory as a vehicle for its own promotion, particularly in light of the Bills' playing games in Toronto.
  19. I really enjoyed watching some of the old clips of him over the past couple days. Took me back to my youth. It was great to see a guy with such joyous enthusiasm for the game. They don't make 'em like that any more. RIP
  20. John, just wanted to say that your reviews are spot-on. Thanks for taking the time to do them each week. My two cents: I think that Adam is the best singer on the program - ever! They should just give him the crown now.
  21. I've got no gripe with your choices, but I always get a kick out of draft projections that have the Bills trading down. They have been far more likely to trade back up into the first round (Losman, McCargo and nearly (early 2nd) Poz). While trade down scenarios are fun to fantasize about because they bring extra picks, it's hard for a team to pass on a guy they really like in hopes that he may be there later. I say they pull the trigger at 11.
  22. Really, I hadn't heard. I wish there were more Peters trade posts so I could stay in the loop!
  23. Check the date on the calendar. I was having a little April Fool's fun. It's funny how you can post almost anything on this board and half the people will get their knickers all in a knot over it.
  24. So T.O. signs and mentions that he is now playing for "North America's Team" at the presser. Then he gives his first radio interview to Fan 590. Last weekend he's court-side at a Raptor's game in an official team jersey. Finally, he gives his first television interview since his signing to TSN. I've got a pretty thick skin, but maybe he should talk to a Buffalo TV station and consider turning up for a Sabres' game. Did the team put him in charge of selling the proposed 2nd game to Toronto? Is Roger's Communication sliding him some cash under the table? Is he in love with poutine? Conspiracy theorists discuss.
  25. If it plays out like last year and he sits out all of the off-season program and most of camp he's not worth the money he's making now. I thought he was pedestrian at best last year. He needs a full off-season regimen. So, yeah, I think he's got the upper-hand. If the Bills want him on board and not a distraction they need to get him resigned quickly.
