  1. I would give up a 4th rounder for Coleman after we have drafted our QB.
  2. Agreed. Good question. I guess a team who thought they were a playmaker away and were all in going for it. I would think a team with a good offense and Franchise QB that is aging and the window is closing. NYG - OBJ for Gronk and something (very unlikely) So, here are places I could see this happening (in no particular order)... 1. Atlanta - Matt Ryan (they hover between and good and above average offense) 2. LA Rams - Philip Rivers (they were a good team on both sides of the ball after a bad, unlucky start). 3. Detroit - Matt Stanford (he’s never had that great TE. Detroit tried in the 1st round twice - Pettigrew/Enron) 4. Minnesota - Kirk Cousins (meh) All of the above are NFC. I don’t think NE would Gronk to an AFC team. And, I don’t think Gronk will be traded. But, if he did, I would guess the LA Rams.
  3. IMO we are a playoff team with AJ starting. i agree (at this point) Rudolph and Jackson are 5th and 6th best QBs available. I think Jackson and Rudolph could be franchise QBs. Not good odds, but, possible. If we miss on everything I think you take one of them at #22. Go Bills!
  4. That sounds very positive and a perfect fit! Nothing to lose at this point. Conflict resolution...win, win...win.
  5. I agree with these 4 things and would others... 5. Love, passion and leadership for football. The QB helps set the tone and culture for the entire organization. They have to have the cultural traits and be one of the very best players. 6. Pocket awareness and sense of urgency of football and awareness of in the game moments 7. Ability to work through progressions. But, I think that goes with #4
  6. I am starting to feel the Bills rank the QBs this way and this is the way the draft will go..... Bills rank QBs 1. Darnold 2. Rosen 3. Allen I think Darnold and Rosen go #1 and #2 or #1 and #3 and the Bills can’t get to those draft positions. I think the Bills have questions on (but, like Darnold and Rosen). I think they have Allen graded with Darnold and Rosen. Or close to it. I think the Bills have none of them graded awesome. Very good with some questions. So, they can’t get to #1, 2 or 3 and Allen is like those guys. A question mark or two. Mayfield goes next as the 3rd QB off the board and Allen needs to get past Denver. So, as many say, the draft hinges on the New York Football Giants at #2 (QB or not, we want not) and Denver at #5 (QB or not, we want not). If one or none take a QB. We are good. Or either trade out past the Bills (which they shouldn’t be able to if we don’t want them to) If Allen gets to TB. This Bills entertain moving up to any spot between TB at #7, Bears at #8, SF at #9 and Oakland at #10. OR the Bills wait till #12 and take Allen hoping he is still there I am leaning towards this being what I think I want and what the Bills are grading out and thinking. Which is about a 180 from 30 days ago.
  7. Geepers the Rams just don’t stop....
  8. Agreed. Johnson was OK. I felt that he was a good, hard hitter...but, was a liability in certain situations. I don't think he has all the skills to be a complete Nickel Corner. Teams can do worse than Johnson, but, if you settle on him you are surely aren't trying to get better at the position. Silly comment. Based on what? What do you know about Gaines?
  9. I would think a few things.... 1. Beane and McD have the same opinion of culture, a franchise and COC (Chain of Command) 2. Beane and McD have the same opinion of what positions they value vs the salary cap and the rest of the NFL --> IMO, which I think I am similar to McBeane being, pay - QB , LT DE, DT, MLB --> those are the positions you spend premier money on premier play making players at (each team may value positions differently, but, you can't change your plan on playmakers vs the cap or impact on it. Our systems sets up NOT to have shut down CBs and crazy sick # 1 WRs. Thusly, not over paying at those positions AND we can fill them with reasonable cap spendings. 3. McBean have the same opinion on how to build a franchise which is two fold --> Top down from the Owner with the correct COC to the FO with one direction --> You need a QB to succeed and you need to get that QB Will see what the McBeane boys do, but, they have put themselves in a good year to do something special. I think the boys got this, but, there will be moving parts and strong trust in their evaluations till we are on the clock!! Go Bills!
  10. Well, that is the weird thing about his year and having multiple QBs as potentially the best QB and them all having different pros and cons.... Many could be evaluated and seen as the best QB in this draft AND if you don't know who the best is (or at least best tier - or best two) you don't need to sell the farm to draft in the top 2 (IF you are in the top 2 and you don't fall into this category - trading out isn't bad either) Thoughts.... - always... my first thought every draft is two fold (1. how do they rank vs other years and the history of the NFL) - how do they rank in the current draft vs their QB piers - to trade the farm for a QB that falls into he first tier - being they rank in the top QB "can't miss QB's of all time" is a different tier. ** The disclaimer, we don't know how the Bills rank these guys as they are all over the board! With all that said........I don't think we can trade up to 2 or 3 and be done with it. There are way too many moving parts. The moving parts are potentially 6 Franchise QBs (probably way less, but, grading is every where and everything on the QBs), the supply and demand of teams needing QBs and then the QBs needed vs their grading process and values put on the QBs vs the actual draft slots and other players and positions in the draft None of the QBs are clear cut #1 QBs (borderline fact) I think out of the following QB question marks - upside, the way team develops them can both lead to their development. Any of those variables can lead to best QB of the draft (they are all in the conversation and team picture) - doesn't mean they will, but, they could be the best in the draft based on timing , team and development.
  11. He may live or die by the selection. BUT, I don't know if he will live or die by the exact pick or his correct evaluation of the process. Meaning, McB may pick the wrong QB and succeed or not. There are arguably 6 QBs and none are clear cut NFL QBs. Weird year with lots of moving parts and opportunities for teams to set themselves up for 5 years of failure or success. I am hoping three things.......... 1. Bills FO evaluate the QBs well vs history and this draft class 2. Bills FO is confident in their QB ratings and is CORRECT in their value process vs their draft capital 3. Bills have a little luck and have their QB ratings and draft evaluations fall into place. More moving parts for part #3 and luck involved IF there is not a clear cut #1 and/or #2 (which I don't think there is). Go Bills !! ** THIS IS THE WHOLE DRAFT ** !!
  12. I went to College in Chicago from 1997 to 2001 and then stayed in Chicago till till 2013. A couple things... 1. I love the Bills 2. I hate the Bears 3. I have many bears fans and am familiar with their team 4. Based on the Bears moving up for a QB last year (using draft capital and not needing a QB in 2019) - I would think the Bears are ideal partner for anyone to trade up to the Bears for a QB at #8 . Geepers, the Bears would have been in amazing shape if they had played to the talent level of their roster last year. They had a better record than their team. Seriously, after they traded for Trubisky and the current state of the team I thought they were a bottom 3 team in the NFL. Trubisky didn't change anything either way. --> the Bears put up a decent record. Could you imagine the Bears in the Top #3 in the draft this year and be able to recoup picks trading back to a spot before # 8? Could of, would have, should have........... Bears lose a couple more games in 2017 and... 1. They have Trubisky 2. They have a top3-5 pick this year - trade back (easily recouping picks from trade up last year) 3. They could still trade back this year depending how the draft unfolds
  13. I am confident I can't suggest what the Bills do because I don't know how they have the QBs graded out. That dictates everything. We have the ammo to get almost anyone. But, depends on your grading of them vs each other and more importantly probably a 20 year sample size or more. Come on McBean, let's get this one right! This is why you lift all those weights! You spent your life getting to this spot and here you go with all the ammo and 6 QBs (more than usual) available.......you got this guys!! There are SOOO many moving parts and I feel our team is prepared for almost (if not) all of them. Go Bills!!
  14. Ya, I don't find either of those videos funny. Surely not the ambulance video. What was that all about?
  15. I think GIFs are funny. I don't find Meme's funny. Not sure why?
  16. Well, you bring up a good point. But, we still have 5 weeks before the draft and 5 more weeks of the process. IF today was the draft and there was no clear cut #1 or #2 I think your thought would or will be a legitimate concern. Good point!
  17. Agreed and well played
  18. I thought it was Flutie or Bledsoe. I gave the nod to Flutie since he made the playoffs.
  19. But, if they cut him they barely save any cap space and then have to pay someone money to fill that WR spot. #1 or #2 WR isn't cheap. IMO they are betting off keeping him one more year.
  20. I don't know why you would cut Dez or the Cowboys would. Unless he totally lost ALL his skills last year. Sometimes players fall of the face of the earth in a short time. But, I don't think Dez is in that category.
  21. Maybe at first glance, but, I think both units will be better than last year. Oline - Dawkins a year wiser - Incognito (same) - Groy or better (And, I think that is an upgrade on Wod) - RG and RT can't be worse. AND, we will have a better offensive blocking scheme this year for the whole season. Once again, it can't be worse. --> our O line IMO is better today than the end of the season WR - KB (our #1) here for the whole year, thusly, we have a #1 WR - Zay Jones (our #3, slot?) is a question mark, but, he can't be worse than last year. Zay should be the slot WR. If he can't someone else will - Holmes (our #5?) was top 5 last year and will be again and STs. I would think Holmes is our #5, plays STs and can play the outside as the #1 or #2 with injuries. A lot of guys can't play outside. Holmes is servicable there for a couple weeks - I guess Streeter (our #4?) is (at this point of the offseason process) suppose to take Deonte Thompson's role (Thompson signed for $1.25 M for one year, thusly the Bills didn't want him). I thought he was good, but, the Bills seem to feel they will do better OR they want that WR to play STs. - Brandon Reilly can try to win a spot out of camp - Our #2 WR will be a draft pick or Maclin type (hopefully) - so need a #2 and another DECENT WR that can play in case of injury. A position group of 5 WRs does not stay healthy --> our WRs today are slightly worse than the end of last year. We need to acquire another GOOD WR. A #2 ideally! We are going to be fine on offense. By fine I mean we are going to move the ball better than last year, have more success than last year, more ball control and more points.
  22. I am commenting on this thread before reading any of it! I am exciting to read thru and participate. Thanks Bandit!! Back to the top and looking forward to this!
  23. Agreed. I am indifferent on Jackson. If we pick him I am fine with it. It is NOT MY choice. But, if we pick him I will trust the process.
