“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” - Mike Tyson I have a feeling the Bills will be throwing haymakers early. -

Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg With the Bills first-team defense in warmups: LB Dorian Williams CB Kaiir Elam (opposite Christian Benford) I will say this about Elam's game last week...... It wasn't as bad as everyone thought it was watching live. It wasn't good, but it wasn't the completely brutal game it appeared to be. He was put in a tough spot with a tough match up after not playing competitive football in 6 weeks. So, here's hoping he learned from the game, got acclimated to playing again, and can turn things around real quick. With all of our injuries, it sure would be nice to have a #1 pick that can actually play CB fill in. -

Bills inactives vs. Giants: CB Dane Jackson (foot) TE Dalton Kincaid (concussion) LB A.J. Klein S Damar Hamlin OL Alec Anderson OL Germain Ifedi Frustrated Kincaid didn't clear protocol. Thought he might have been in line for a break out game. -
Yup. Had it a couple times myself. One of my most painful injuries. There are special braces you can wear to keep your foot stretched out so it can try and heal, but rest is about the only thing you can do to really help it. I am sure professional athletes have more treatment options than us average joes, but it is not an injury that just goes away overnight.

Yes.....Daboll knows Josh and what he likes and doesn't like. That will help the Giants. But we also pretty much have Daboll's entire playbook, so that will help McDermott. In the end, I am not sure how much of it will matter. While I expect a closer than desired game for a variety of reasons, I just hope the fact that we have Allen and they don't will be enough to tip the scales in our favor. We have more talent and, hopefully, that shows and we win the game.

Saw the tweet.....laughed out loud because I thought it was a joke. Found out it wasn't a joke. Laughed even harder. 436 year old Josh Norman is the best we can do right now? There's literally no better options on a practice squad or something in the NFL than someone who's been sitting on the couch for who knows how long? There's nobody you could trade a pick for that could be worthy of a roster spot? I find it hard to believe. Might as well call Ted Washington to replace Jones while you're at it. Oh well.....whatever. I will say he played admirably with us a few years ago. He wasn't real good, but I could tell he cared. It's just unfortunate he will always be synonymous with getting thrown into the 3rd row by Henry. But hey....if he still wants to try and compete, more power to him.

Because we're never a team that needs depth since our starters stay healthy all the time.......sure, why not? /s

Why does Dorsey play 'scared' as soon as there is a decent pass rush?
sven233 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just don't understand Dorsey. The last few games, the offense has been evolving. They were finding things that work well and have been scoring a ton of points because of it. He's been totally fine until today to be honest.....not perfect, but fine. Today, it's like he looked at everything that has been working well and decided to do the opposite. Having Allen under center has been nothing short of amazing this season. He is the best in the league by far under center and utilizing play action. Today, while I don't have the numbers in front of me, it felt like he was in the gun at least 80% of the time. And when they did go play action from under center, that's when a lot of the bigger play happened. Until he figures out that he needs Allen under center at least 40% of the time, I don't think the offense will be what we all hope it can be. And his idea of what to do in 12 personnel is so basic. Not having any idea what to do with and how to use Kincaid down the field is baffling. -
Not all of the under throws were on him, but I know there was at least one to Diggs I thought should have been a TD early. The other ones he was a little rushed and really didn't get a chance to step into them. But, honestly, those were far from the problem today.

And we have our guy running dump off routes all game.....
-
If we have learned anything over the last little while, it is that you can't just trust the science. I said it earlier, while there is no perfect way to do this because it is totally ridiculous to be forced to fly half way around the world to play a football game in general, there was a much better way to have handle this. We should have beaten Miami, left and arrived in England on Monday. Had our traditional Tuesday off to recover and try to start acclimating to the time difference, and then had a somewhat normal week of practice starting Wednesday. By game time, if nothing else, you would have been more prepared physically. This is not to mention it would have given players more time to prepare for the stadium and the turf and what to have to wear to be as safe as possible. Instead, they waited. No matter how much they won't admit it, when you have a big trip like that ahead of you, players are going to be overthinking it all week. They knew the grind they were in for and instead of getting rid of that distraction early in the week, they let it weigh on their player's minds all week, distracting them from practice and learning the game plan. Regardless, these international games are absolutely insane and I hope it's a decade before we are forced to do it again.

These were the perfect refs to do it.....
-
Yup. Milano and company get a lot of the credit, but Jones, along with the way Ed is playing, is a big reason for that. He is a MASSIVE loss. Beane has a lot of work to do to try to salvage the season.
-
Both the Milano injury and the Jones injury are bad according to McDermott. Lovely.
-
It's not the loss. Yes, the game was awful and the refs were some of the worst I have ever seen. But it's not the loss. That was always a possibility trying to play a professional football game on basically 1 night's sleep in 3 days. The decision to leave so late in week was a terrible one. Regardless, it's not about the loss. We're going to lose games this season. What this is about is the injuries. And not just the injuries, but the major injuries to the most important players on the defense. By the end of this game, we had 6 starters on defense out. And for some of those players, it is going to be multiple weeks, if not the season. This is the real issue with this game. Enjoy that extra international money, NFL. Probably just cost us a chance to win anything this season.
-
What the heck? That's what you do on the first play? You could have had 3 plays. COME ON!!!
-
I would have felt OK about this situation if we would have had even 1 TO.
-
They are out of time. If they had some TOs, sure, but the best they can do is a few seconds left.
-
Too little too late..... Good for the fantasy players I guess. Shouldn't have burned those first couple time outs huh......
-
We know Milano is probably done for the season, but now we have to worry about everyone else. Jones not being a part of the defense is maybe the biggest blow and the most concerning. We are not the same defensive line without him. Going to have to see what pieces we have going forward and regroup.
-
I haven't minded the game McDermott has called all game, especially with the handicap he is playing with. But having Hyde on Ridley one on one was not a choice I would have made there. Ballgame.
-
Bills said they trusted the science by waiting until Friday to get there. Well, trusting the science has been a bad idea for a while now. They should have gotten on a plane Monday, taken their traditional Tuesday off, and had a normal week of practice starting Wednesday. Would it have been perfect? Of course not. But it would have been better than wasting the week preparing and thinking about the trip all week instead of the gameplan.
-
I'm actually OK with that one. 3rd and a mile and gave Diggs a chance at making a play. Ends up being our best punt of the day. Fine. Defense going to have to bail out the offense again.
