  1. 5th year option, extend after next year is the most likely outcome. But not a slam dunk.
  2. I don't go as far as having a bad run defense is better.... but I do think there is a grain of truth. The days of "run and stop the run" are over. And if you build a really dominant run defense to the point teams barely even try against you then that is good against teams with average and bad Quarterbacks but it isn't great when you play the good Quarterbacks.... because you want those teams to get cute and waste downs rushing.
  3. Agreed. Ed and Taron are the last two levers to pull. Can we release Taylor Rapp and sign a proper safety? Just pretend it was all a bad dream?
  4. At the prices I like AJE better. If you swapped the contracts round I'd have been fine with a flier on YGM. AJ is a better rusher. YGM is probably a bit better rounded.
  5. We needed bodies there but I like the 4 guys we have got. Hopefully this is very cheap.
  6. Ah okay. So you disliked the spelling?
  7. @HurlyBurly51 - you dislike his name?
  8. Can't be mad. He was still an above average safety in 2023 and the Bills let him go. He was always gonna play somewhere.
  9. Yeuter Gross Matos
  10. They didnt. The 3rd was for Ryans. They got a 4th for Jimmy G.
  11. Think that was probably beyond us.
  12. See I'd take AJE over YGM.
  13. It is just he is the kind of guy who usually gets overpaid in free agency - especially in a thinnish group. Good deal for the Bills.
  14. I don't think he was most fine. I think he was mostly bad. Not liability awful, but he is a backup and played like it.
  15. I take your point on the position element but I'd also say there is a considerably bigger gap between the best center and the 15th best than the best WR and the 15th best. That is just the nature of the game at high school and college level now. There are more uber talented players coming into the league at receiver than any other position. I think there is a legitimate argument that if you look over the last decade corner might be second in that list too. It is now an outside the numbers game as players progress up the pipleline. I think elite lineman are so valuable now because I think there are fewer. No doubt the Chiefs have elite coaching.
  16. Thuney is 100% elite. There is no question about that. Then I think McDuffie (as a slot) and Humphrey at center have a shout too.
  17. Is linebacker a need? They have Milano coming back, Bernard who was excellent last year, a 3rd round pick they presumably still want to develop in Williams and Spector who was fine in spot duty as backup. I see it as the one position they don't have a need - beyond probably needing a 5th body for the backend of the roster.
  18. I have no idea where we are cap wise. Too many unknowns. But I still think we have a major need for a vet safety before this first phase is through. Other than that I'm happy to wait it out - try and find a cheaper vet WR option and then look to the draft.
  19. Mixon kinda sucks. He has averaged over 4.1 yards per carry ONCE in seven seasons. He is just a volume based accumulator.
  20. And the match going Chelsea fans I know are where I was back in 2019.... going to games feeling it impossible to associate with any of the mercenaries on the pitch for them. That club is a mess at the moment.
  21. Another guy I put up as a sleeper in his draft class. UDFA turned paid second contract. Congrats kid. I think Geno Stone went, right? Byard went, McKinney went and Savage went. So some names did come off the board. It has thinned out a bit.
  22. Ed Oliver is top 10 and he is closer to 5 than 10. After Allen (and finger crossed Milano) the next two closest to elite are Oliver and Taron unless Stef gets back to his best.
  23. When the wall comes for those big guys it comes fast. I'd have preferred one year $8m and kick some of that money into a void year to make it fit than two years $16m. I'm not sad that he is back so much as I thought it should be a year at a time for him at this stage of his career.
  24. Yeah it is my favourite deal of the ones they've done. Can he be an every down starter is the question.... but he can rush the passer and we need someone to rush the passer. EDIT: I should say I thought he'd get more on the market. I was thinking three years $39m something like that. I wouldn't have gone to that if I was the Bills, but in a thin edge rusher free agent class and with a thin draft class after the top 3 or 4 guys I think AJ came in a little under his market value at $10m AAV.
