  1. We have to do a better job of getting Allen in rhythm early. Has been an issue for multiple games now.
  2. The classic early designed pass to Knox. Just so Dorsey can forget him for the next 59 minutes.
  3. The last two years having to start deep never worried me. This year it does.
  4. Ugh. Have I mentioned how much I hate all these prime time games... they are hard on sleep patterns for us folk on this side of the Atlantic! Weather looks okay there... let's gooooooo Buffaloooooo!!!
  5. Yea Mario is one of the greatest bull rushers I have ever seen play. But that was his only rush. He was so naturally, physically dominant that he never developed the nuances. He just bull rushed and got home. And I say that as someone, like you, that was a huge Mario fan and appreciate his time as a Bill.
  6. Bills v 9ers would be a defensive struggle of a Superbowl. 21-17 something like that.
  7. I don't disagree with any of that and have made the same argument but that doesn't change the fact that Jones has been an excellent pick up. Whether we need Tim Settle and Jordan Phillips and mid range deals backing he and Ed up rather than diverting some of that case to the offense is an entirely fair question. They still have some cap flex available for 2023 (which was where I disagreed with you) but they can't go defense heavy again. Agreed.
  8. The Dolphins will try and wind the Bills up. You can be sure of that. Keep our cool and play our game.
  9. Or Aiyuk. He would be a beast in this offense.
  10. Agree. Josh is not, and never has been, comfortable as a game manager. He is at his best with the ball in his hands consistently. The paint by numbers scheme first, weapons second, QB third offense that Shanahan has in San Fran would not be for him. And that is not a knock on Shanny. He is the best offensive mind in the NFL (well, him and Andy Reid) and nobody has his ability to make game managers look like stars. The issue is it is hard to make a star QB play in that scheme because it is designed to take things off his plate and if you have Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes of Joe Burrow you want to put the game in their hands.... because they are your best player!!
  11. They still have plenty of ways to restructure and free up money. Josh Allen, Matt Milano and Taron Johnson the most obvious. Ed getting $18m AAV wouldn't mean $18m cap hit in 2023. I would still expect the 2023 hit to go down. There a bigger cap increases coming from the new tv deals so ever dollar you punt into future cap years you are getting a real terms discount on. The swing on Von reduced their flexibility. I accept that. But it didn't remove it. The Bills are still in a pretty good spot cap wise for an organisation at this point of the cycle. What they can't afford to do is keep prioritising the defense with the mid range deals. I have been critical of the decision to go 4 deep with relatively well paid DTs. I think someone like a Brandin Bryant as the 4th guy in your rotation for peanuts and rededicate that mid range deal to offense would have been the way to go. I suppose it is fair at this stage to note they gave a decent guard contract out last spring. It was just a whiff on an overrated past his overrated best old bloke. They have the cap headroom and the draft capital to add three impact guys to the offense this offseason on the line and in the passing game. The problem they have had on O is they have had more talent whiffs there. Zay Jones, Cody Ford and Zack Moss are their three worst early picks. All offense.
  12. I have never used the excuse of them not having the money. Not once. And they need to focus more on offense. I agree with that. They have 6, not 7, on defense at a 2023 cap of over $9m, and Ed will almost certainly not play on the option. They will extend him and lower the hit. The top end of their roster is balanced. Four big O hits and four big D hits. I agree the mid roster is defense heavy. Where I disagree is the implication that their investment on D prevents them from doing what they need to do on O. It doesn't. Von as a big swing reduces their flexibility. That's true. But they can absolutely still make the moves they need to make. The cap is plenty malleable enough for them still.
  13. Hyde IS signed for 2023. Poyer isn't. If they re-sign Edmunds it will be on a pretty reasonable 2023 hit. Equally extending Ed Oliver would lower his 2023 hit. I absolutely agree that they need to prioritise offensive upgrades in 2023 and the cap situation is getting tighter but I don't think they are in a desperate spot yet. There is some straightforward cut / restructure work. I want them to bring in at least one offensive line upgrade in FA and a baseline starting vet at safety. Then use the draft for receiver and oline early and safety mid rounds.
  14. Shakir catches everything under the sun. If 52.9% of the world is above the sun.
  15. Yep. He has. Shaq Lawson too as one of those under the radar, looked like a roster filler (wasn't even sure he'd make the 53) and has been a rock solid, dependable player. Since Von went down the second highest snap count among our Defensive Ends has been Shaq.
  16. I got 3 vomit reactions last week when I mentioned how much I like Milano....
  17. Post of the year. Not because I hate Dorsey but because it made me actually spit out my coffee with laughter.
  18. Was it Dick Jauron who always practiced inside to focus on execution? Then we'd get outside on Sunday and score 6 points.
  19. Four leagues, one 10 teamer and three 12 teamers, one with IDPs. One 13-1 and a first round playoff bye; One 8-6 and a playoff Quarter final this week; One 10-4 in second place with one week of regular season to go; One 10-4 in first place with one week of the regular season to go; I had pretty good drafts this year. A lot of Josh Jacobs and a lot of Miles Sanders both of whom I was high on coming in and they worked out for me. Have two teams with Jefferson, one with Hill and one with AJ Brown too. So basically in all 4 teams I have a top 5 fantasy receiver and then at least one of Jacobs and Sanders. That has pretty much kept me in the game every week. I do think we are at the point now in fantasy where your first pick should always be an elite receiver. Running backs are just not guaranteed volume in the same way as an elite receiver. If you can find a couple of backs in rounds 3 and 4 who will end up eating you have a shot.
