Yea I didn't mind that play call. Cook was cooking. He is their best player down there other than Allen. The Dolphins made a play on 2nd down. The other team gets paid too. I don't think that was conservatism. It was putting the ball in the hands of one of your two playmakers when he was in the groove.

I think that is harsh on Daquan. I have thought he was washed for over a year, but he was fine last night.

He should have challenged the Hill non catch. But I don't think it was a failure of process. They are quick enough to challenge when they need to. That was a personal failure of their challenge advisor. The timeouts at the end of the half were fine. When you defer you want the double dip. They had them in 2nd and long. The problem was lacl of execution on defense not the time outs.

The Bills were up 14-7 and lookong for 21-7 and the Fins made two plays in the redzone. It's hard for me to say that is the OC being too conservative. I think you can criticise some of the playcalling 2nd half, but I don't see conservatism as the issue with the play calling. I don't think they adjusted to the Dolphins run blitzing the entire second half. If they'd run some of those tunnel screens they normally like they'd have had a ton of success.

Yea agree. We have always been a decent 3rd down defence with the odd big breakdown. Until the last two years. And it doesn't look much better yet.

And it wasn't all soft zone. There was some sticky man coverage sprinkled in and people talk like the D was horrible, but it forced four 3 and outs. It was very feast or famine. It felt like the Bills were willing to come out each drive and get in the Dolphins' faces but the moment they managed a first down they bailed out and became passive. I'm not sold at all on Babich. He had some nice calls last night but some of his 3rd down calls were just nonsensical too.

As for Walker... I said he was like a young Jordan Phillips when we drafted him. That is what I see. He is a big body with a habit of getting penetration.

Yes. I don't think these receivers can get open down the field on the outside. They are scheming around that weakness pretty well and while they didn't call many deep shots today (think just two) the ones they did Josh came off - even with time - and went underneath. That tells you there was nothing open.

Plenty of effort from Bosa, not much pop. I didn't think that was Daquan's worst game, I thought he did okay. Agree the edge rushers other than Bosa have been total no shows so far this season.

I know this will sound hollow after the game but I never once thought we were losing that. We were always a break of serve up IMO.

Walker was pretty good throughout. He failed to make a takle on a 3rd and short conversion that a man his size should always make but otherwise his best game. Got good push.

That seals it. The Bills won today by avoiding the big mistakes. The Dolphins made two. What I will say is two divisional games in five days, two wins. But this was not a good performance.
